STEVENS, Pat
GALIVANTS FERRY - Pat Stevens, 59, of Barnhill Road, died Saturday, June 22, 2002 at his home following an illness.
Born June 2, 1943 in Horry County he was the son of the late Sam and Esther Mincey Stevens. Mr. Stevens was an avid fisherman and a self employed carpenter. Survivors include his companion of 27 years Daisy Barnhill, two sons, Carlo Stevens of Pineville, SC, Doby Stevens of Nichols, three sisters, Ethel Hammond and Marion "Jo" Hooks both of Nichols, Linda Turner of Pineville, SC. Mr. Stevens was predeceased by a daughter Lisa Perscilla Stevens and a brother, Sam Stevens, Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 PM Monday at Mt. Trolley Freewill Baptist Church, directed by GRAND STRANC FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY. Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 2126 Hwy 129 Galivants Ferry, SC 29544.

He was a graduate of Clemson University and employed by BAE Systems as an electrical engineer.
Surviving are his father of Jacksonville, Florida, his mother of Hanahan, SC, a daughter, Amy Jean Neal of Ladson as well as two brothers, Lance Anthony Neal of St. Stephen, SC, and Brian Jack Neal of Jacksonville, Florida and his sister, Susan A. Lowder of Hartsville, SC, included among the survivors are his extended family to include aunts, uncles and numerous cousins in the Pensacola, Florida area.

She is survived by her former husband and friend Abraham Lincoln Willis of N. Charleston, S.C., three sons, Joseph L. Willis of N. Charleston, S.C., William A. "Billy" Willis of Adams Run, S.C., and Robert A. "Shorty" Willis of N. Charleston, S.C., one daughter, Patricia A. Willis of N. Charleston, S.C., one sister, Josie Sanford of Charleston, S.C., ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
HENRY, Howard
Howard Erwin Henry, 72, of Pinopolis, SC, a retired water manager for the Berkeley County Water & Sewer Authority, died Friday in a North Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 2:00 PM Monday, June 24, 2002, in Pinopolis United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM this Sunday evening.
Mr. Henry was born Sept. 22, 1929, in Little Rock, Arkansas, a son of Orville M. Henry and Freida Zilstra Henry. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Pinopolis United Methodist Church. He was a former Berkeley Country Club Golf Professional. He attended the University of Arkansas.
Surviving are, his wife, Camilla Bishop Henry, a daughter, Elizabeth "Babs" Henry Warner of Wassamassaw, a sister, Patricia H. Aycock of Carlisle, Arkansas, and a brother, Edward A. Henry of Merriam, Kansas.

Bernard Bayer "Bernie" Matt 61 husband of Diane Shuler Matt died Saturday, June 22, 2002 at a local hospital. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard B. He graduated from St. Andrew's High School and attended the University of South Carolina and the College of Charleston. Mr. Matt served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in the dental corps. and was a Catholic. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club, the Charleston Shag Club, the Island Shag Club, the Brookgreen Botanical Garden and was an avid gardener. Mr. Matt retired after 35 years of service to the Medical University of South Carolina as an Instrument Specialist with department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. He is survived by his wife of Charleston, a son, Christopher Ian Matt and his wife Tricia of Holbrook, AZ. 3 stepchildren, Sondra Keller and Leah Bentz of Charleston and Charles Driggers of Griffen, GA. a brother, E. Joseph Matt of Gilbert, AZ. 2 nephews, Emilio J. Matt, Anthony G. Matt and his wife Monique of Atlanta, GA. and 7 step grandchildren.
