WARREN, Monroe
Rev. C. Monroe Warren 95, of Summerville, a retired Southern Baptist Minister and widower of Louise Mildred Kinard Warren died Friday afternoon at his residence.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 24, 2002 at 1 o'clock in Pittman Street Baptist Church, North Charleston. Graveside service with Masonic Rites will be at 4 o'clock in St. Johns Baptist Church cemetery, Ehrhardt, S.C. Friends may call at JAMES A. DYAL FUNERAL HOME, SUMMERVILLE from 6 until 8 this evening.
Rev. Warren was born and reared in Colleton County, the son of the late Henry Barney Warren and Rosa Richardson Warren. He was born February 16, 1907. He was called to preach the Gospel before finishing high school. He was a graduate of North Greenville Baptist Academy in Tigerville, S.C. Furman University in Greenville, S.C.; Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY; and post graduate seminar at Federated Theological Seminary of University of Chicago, ILL. He taught in public schools of South Carolina and in Extension School of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He served as pastor of churches in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia for 45 years. He served as Moderator of Association; chairman of Executive Committees; President of Pastors Conferences; Member of State Board of Georgia Baptist Convention. He wrote articles for several newspapers and Baptist State papers and the Pulpit Digest. He was esteemed as a preacher, teacher and writer. He was a member of Summerville Masonic Lodge #234.
Surviving are: daughter Sybil Alston of North Charleston. Grandson: Warren Alston of Bluffton, S.C. Granddaughter; Cherie Del Alston Schultz of North Charleston. 3 great-grandchildren; Michael Tylutki, Alex Coleman, Aubrey Jo Schultz.

DAVIS, Edith
Edith Browder Davis of Charleston died in a local hospital on June 21, 2002. She was the widow of Edward Braxton Davis, Jr. of Portsmouth, Virginia. She was a daughter of Samuel Wesley Browder and Jocasta Anne Browder of Petersburg, Virginia, and was born on October 7, 1916.
She lived for her family.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Edward Braxton Davis, III of Charleston, two grandsons, John Edward Davis, Esq., of Arlington, Virginia and James Andrew Davis of Jakarta, Indonesia, a great grandson, Matthew Freeman Davis of Arlington, Virgina, a brother, Dr. W. Gordon Browder of Missoula, Montana, and a sister, Mildred Browder Gage of Hopewell, Virginia.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at 2 pm, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC.
