Mrs. Waits was born in Dublin, Ga., a daughter of Stasy John Sams and Eulalie Linder Sams. She was the widow of J. Ray Waits and retired owner/operator of Lucille Waits Gifts. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Mrs. Waits painted low country camellias and magnolias and was the first person to sell Godiva Chocolates in Charleston. She was known around Charleston as the Godiva Lady.
Surviving are one daughter, Cinda Waits Cave and her husband Morris of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; one son, J. Ray Waits, Jr. and his wife, Angela of Wando, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Scott, Brian and David Cave, J.R. Waits, III, Nicole W. Michaels, Travis Waits and Katie Waits; three great-grandchildren, Scotty Cave, Wesley Michaels and Greta Ray Waits.

BROWDER, Edward
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of June 21, 2002, Edward C. Browder, Sr., widower of Mary Gaines Browder. Residence, James Island, S.C. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services Monday at one o'clock in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Mr. Browder was born April 15, 1918 in Barnwell, S.C., the son of Caswell W. Browder and Mamie Owens Browder. He graduated from the High School of Charleston. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard, Shop #64 as a joiner. He was a member of St. Barnabas Lutheran Church. He served with the U.S. Navy during W.W.II.
He is survived by his son, Edward C. Browder, Jr. of James Island; two daughters, Carol B. Biering of Columbia, S.C. and Meridy B. Jenkins of James Island; two brothers, John T. Browder and Archie B. Browder both of James Island; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

WALDRON, Sr., Albert
GEORGETOWN - Albert S. (Sonny) Waldron, Sr., 79, died Friday, June 21, 2002 in Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 23, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. in Lakewood Baptist Church officiating will be Rev. Schuyler Peterson. Burial, directed by GRAHAM FUNERAL HOME, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
He was born May 28, 1923 in Hemingway, a son of the late Samuel Cooper Waldron and Juanita Haselden Waldron.
He was a retired production manager with International Paper Container Division. He attended Clemson University. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and the C.D. Parsons Sunday School Class. He was an avid hunter, but a better fisherman.
Surviving are his wife, Eugenia J. (Gee) Waldron; one son, Albert S. Waldron, Jr. and his wife Riva of Georgetown; a daughter-in-law, Jeanne C. Waldron of Georgetown; one grandson, Samuel David Waldron of Georgetown; five sisters, Maggie S. Waldron and Cecile W. Capell both of Georgetown, Willie Rena W. Pendarvis of St. George, Juanita W. Mobley of Rocky Mount, N.C. and his twin sister, Alberta W. Santangelo of Lunenburg, Mass. and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, David Waldron in June, 2000.
The family will receive friends on Saturday at their home, 1928 Allston Street in Georgetown.

Willadine Davidson "Billie" Wiley, 71, of Broughton Hall Rd., Pinopolis, S.C., a former claims supervisor for the S.C. Employment Security Commission, died Friday in Salisbury, N.C.

Mrs. Wiley was born May 22, 1931, in Tippecanoe, Ohio, a daughter of Brady O. Davidson and Lola Ryan Davidson. She is the widow of Cecil Harvey Wiley. She was a member of the Pinopolis United Methodist Church and the International Association of Personnel Employment Service. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary where she served as a Past State Commander, Past Chapter Commander, and Past Adjutant. She was a member of the S.C. State Employees Association. She was a graduate of Polytechnic High School, Los Angeles, Calif.
Surviving are, Gail Celeste Hounshell of Salisbury, N.C.; a son, Cecil Harvey Wiley, II, of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Cecil H. "Trey" Wiley, III, and Michael Taylor Wiley; and a great-grandchild, Taylor Wiley.

RUFFIN - Mrs. Doris Ann Hudson Polk, 48, of 2478 Red Root Road, died Thursday at Summerville Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial cemetery.
Mrs. Polk was born in Colleton County, a son of the late Mendel Beathea Hudson and in a Strickland Hudson. She was a retired bookkeeper with Air Cooled Motors an was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church-Ruffin Charge. She was the widow of Rev. Lucas Padgett Polk.
Surviving are a step-daughter, Revonda P. Zellars of Florida, a brother, Charles H. Hudson of Walterboro, two sisters, Florence H. Benton and Clara H. Stanley. Both of Walterboro, a step granddaughter, two step great-grandchildren, a nephew, Tommy Hudson of Ruffin, and several nieces and nephews.
