Julia Estelle Walker, 36, of Jonesboro, Ga., formerly of North Charleston, S.C. died on June 17, 2002.
Graveside services will be held in Westminster Memorial Gardens on June 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Ron Stribling, officiating.
Ms. Walker was a widower. Survivors include son, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Deborah) Bradwell of Newnan, Ga.; granddaughter, Sandi Berrie of St. Simons Island, Ga. grandsons, Herman, Kevin, and Ken Bradwell all of Charleston, S.C.; five great-grandchildren.

HIERS, Evelyn
Evelyn Sanders Hiers, 91, widow of Guy Ruby Hiers, Sr. died Monday in the Lexington Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the MOLE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with burial to follow in the Reedy Branch Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mole Funeral Home. Rev. Harry Warren will officiate. Mrs. Hiers was born in Barnwell Co. a daughter of the late Hamp and Mary Sanders.
Survivors include one son, Guy Ruby Hiers, Jr. of Hanahan, S.C.; one daughter, Minnie Elsey of West Columbia, S.C.; three sisters, Valarie Collins and Ethel May Sanders of Barnwell and Nell McIntosh of Hanahan, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Mary H. Ash and Martha H. Freeman and a granddaughter, Roxanne Johnson.

ST. GEORGE, S.C. - Thomas E. "David" Stringfield, Jr., 42, of 291 Deepwoods Road, St. George, died Monday, June 17, 2002 in Doctor's Hospital, Augusta, Ga. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in BRYANT FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Pastor Roy Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Harleyville cemetery. Visitation at Bryant Funeral Home will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening. Mr. Stringfield was born August 2, 1959 in Bamberg a son of Lorene Mitchell Stringfield and the late Thomas Edward Stringfield, Sr. He was a general foreman with Tidewater Construction of Holly Hill. He was a graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School, a Navy veteran, and a member of Herndon Freewill Baptist Church, Herndon, West Virginia. Surviving are, his wife, Debbie M. Stringfield, Athens, W. Va., son, Thomas Edward Stringfield, III, St. George, daughter, Victoria Noel Stringfield, Athens, W. Va., mother, Lorene M. Stringfield, St. George, grandmother, Belle Porter, Williston, brothers, James Mitchell, Orangeburg, Jerry Shaw and Glenn Shaw, St. George, 5 sisters, Pat S. Thompson, Lake City, Fla., Lisa Dykes, Sandy Dykes, Doris Mitchell, and Brenda Davis, all of Bamberg, a grandson, Austin Tyler Stringfield, Princeton, W. Va.

James Willie Medders, Jr., 72, of Moncks Corner, S.C., a retired minister, died Monday at his son's residence in Wilson, N.C.
The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2002, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will be in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. this Wednesday evening.
Mr. Medders was born on January 10, 1930, in Waycross, Ga., a son of James Willie Medders, Sr. and Cloie Vaughn Hunter Medders. He was a member of College Park Baptist Church and a former commercial construction worker. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Lorna Wilson Medders; four sons, Kenneth E. Medders of North Charleston, Keith L. Medders of Wilson, N.C., Kelvin L. Medders of Moncks Corner, and T. Kirt Medders of Edgewater, Fla.; four sisters, Diane Davis and Cloie Vaughn both of Madison, Ind., and Yvonne Queener and Sylvia Bates both of Ocoee, Fla.; one brother, Ellis E. Medders of Port Orange, Fla.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Cecil W. Adams, 57, of Beaufort died Monday evening at his residence. Memorial services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Port Royal Baptist Church. Mr. Adams was born June 30, 1944, in Hampton County a son of Cecil W. Adams and Bessie Smith Adams. He was a Baptist. He was a carpenter and a food vendor for Blue Grass festivals since 1991.
Surviving are: his fiancée, Barbara Brown of Beaufort; two sisters, Betty Bennett of Beaufort and Anna Dean Phillips of Jacksonboro, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Wilson Jasper Driggers, Sr., 76, of Osteen, Florida, widower of Rose M. Driggers, died Sunday evening in a Orange City Florida hospital.

Mr. Driggers was born on November 2, 1925 in Summerville, a son of the late John H. Driggers, Sr. and Mattie Lee Driggers. He attended Summerville schools. He enjoyed raising horses and cattle. He was a retired iron worker.

BOYCE, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Kirkley Boyce, 88, of Charleston died Tuesday, June 18th at a local hospital. Born in Smithville, S.C. to the late Charles L. and Elizabeth Leland Kirkley. She was a graduate of Georgetown High School and was married
to the late W.G. Boyce, Sr. Mrs. Boyce was a founding member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church were she was part of various groups within the church. Surviving her is her son, W.G. Boyce, Jr. of Charleston, daughter and son-in-law, Janet B. and Jerry C. Whitley of Columbia, and three grandchildren, Michael G. Boyce, Jennifer N. Whitley, and Jeremy C. Whitley. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20th in McClellanville cemetery, McClellanville, S.C. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to ones favorite charity.

THOMPSON, Harry
GREENVILLE- Harry Melville Thompson, Jr., 79, of 230 Stone Lake Drive, died June 17, 2002 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Williston, S.C., he was a son of the late Harry Melville, Sr. and Lessie Rountree Thompson. He graduated from Clemson University, Class of 1943 with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. Mr. Thompson served in the U. S. Army during WWII and later became commanding officer of the 391st Engineers, retiring as Lt. Colonel after 20 years. He formerly owned and operated Precision Wood Products, Inc. and was a member of the Downtown Rotary Club. He was a former board member of the Civic Ballet and a former member of the Men's Garden Club, Poinsett Club and Community Bible Study Group. Mr. Thompson was a member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church and the John M. Holmes Bible Class where he served as former class president.
Surviving are his wife, Jimmye Ruth Partee Thompson of the home; three daughters, Ginny Thompson Bishop and her husband, John Randall of Mt. Pleasant, Page Thompson Blackford and her husband. William DesChamps of Spartanburg, Dana Thompson Bostian and her husband, Jeffrey Mark of Greenville; one brother, John Willis Thompson of Augusta, GA.; seven grandchildren, Jacqueline Winter Bishop, John Randall Bishop, Jr., Crawford Willis Bishop, Harrison Page Blackford, Elizabeth DesChamps Blackford, Jeffrey Mark Bostian, Jr., and Mary Page Bostian and two special friends of the family, Tiby Trent Weinstein and Benjamin David Weinstein. He was predeceased by two sisters, Harry Dale Thompson Cone and Hattie Sue Thompson; two brothers, Fred Allen Thompson and Selwyn Rountree Thompson.

GEORGETOWN - William Aubrey Sports, Jr., 21, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, due to injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mr. Sports was born in Georgetown on September 29, 1980, a son of William Aubrey Sports, Sr. and Marcia Bouchette Sports. He graduated from Georgetown High School, where he participated in a number of sports including football, baseball, and wrestling. He attended Charleston Southern University and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Sports was an employee of Georgetown Auto Parts. He was a member of Georgetown Church of God and played church league softball.
Surviving are: his parents of Georgetown, a sister, Michelle Sports-Young of Georgetown; paternal grandmother, Mary H. Sports of Georgetown; maternal grandmother, Ruth D. Bouchette of Georgetown; a number of aunts and uncles; siblings, Patrick Earl Sports and Nicholas Glenn Cooper both of Georgetown; and special friend, Emma Marie Lawrimore of Georgetown.
He was predeceased by Aubrey E. Sports, Dowie M. Bouchette, Sr. and Eva Jane Sports.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Thursday afternoon, June 20, 2002 at Georgetown Church of God. Officiating will be the Rev. Wilton Scruggs. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens under the direction of the GEORGETOWN CHAPEL OF MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening, June 19, 2002, from six until eight o'clock.
