DORCHESTER - Mrs. Doris Ellington Pate, 75, 2556 Hwy. 78, Dorchester died Sunday June 16, 2002 in Trident Medical Center, Charleston. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Dorchester cemetery with Rev. Randall J. Lawrence officiating. Visitation will be at Bryant Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Mrs. Pate was born November 29, 1916 in Fuquay Springs, N.C. a daughter of the late Rev. Sherrwood and Martha Morris Ellington. She was the widow of Emory P. Pate and a member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. Surviving, 3 sons, R. Gene Malinoski, Summerville, T. Stephen Malinoski, St. Petersburg, Fla., Morris Emory Pate, St. George. A brother, Jim Ellington, Dade City, Fla.; 2 sisters, Martha Liner, Tex. and Bessie Pate, Dorchester. 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. MOORE, Lowell
WASHINGTON, N.C. - Lowell Thomas "Buddy" Moore, 67, a resident of 112 Paul St., Washington, died in the Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville on Saturday, June 15, 2002.
A graveside funeral service will be held at the family plot in Oakdale cemetery at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002 conducted by Mike Chandler. The family will receive friends at the home on Paul Street.
Mr. Moore was born in Saltville, Virginia, Sept. 1, 1934, the son of the late John and Pauline Burgess Moore. He moved to Beaufort County in 1997 after working in Civil Service with the U.S. Government at Fort Belvoir, Virginia and later in Charleston, South Carolina Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1989 after 36 years of service. Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Navy and completed formal training as an Air Conditioning Maintenance Specialists with Johnson Control Systems for Automatic Regulation of Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning. He was a former member of the Charleston Rifle Club for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sandra Sutton Moore of the home, a son, Kenneth Wayne Moore of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Keena Lynn Moore of Goose Creek, S.C.; two step-daughters, Wendy Renee Davis of Charleston, S.C. and Cindy Leigh Anderson of Chocowinity; a step-son, William Randall Hodges of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Fred Worley of Rockville, Md. and Randy Royce of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Phyllis Walker of Rockville, Md., and six grandchildren.

SMOAKS - Mrs. Irene Priester George, 91, of Route 2, Smoaks, died Sunday at the Bamberg County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. George was born Oct. 24, 1910 in Hampton County and was a daughter of Robert B. and Agnes Brant Priester. She was the widow of Joe R. George. She was a member of the Little Swamp United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Little Swamp United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery directed by the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, EHRHARDT CHAPEL.
Surviving are a son, Bobby George and his wife, Dixie W. Mrs. Cleland was born on August 7, 1959 in Charleston, a daughter of the late Edward Landrum North and Mary Louise Austin North. She graduated from Garrett High School and attended Trident Technical College. Mrs. Cleland was a former secretary with the Dept. of Education at the Citadel. She was a volunteer at Hanahan Elementary School and a member of North Trident Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband; her son, Christopher Glenn Cleland of Hanahan; daughter, Cayce Elizabeth Cleland of Hanahan; sisters, Geradine Patrick of Ladson, Patricia Gurney of Ladson.
