WESTBURY, Manning
Mr. M. Dupree Westbury, Sr. of St. George, S.C. died on Tuesday, June 11, at east Cooper Reg. Medical Center, after an extended illness.
Manning Dupree Westbury, Sr. son of the late Junious Manning and Myrtle Crook Westbury was born on November 3, 1925 in St. George, S.C.
He graduated from St. George High School, Class of 1940. He worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a welder. He then went to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving as a water tender second class in the number two fire room on the destroyer DDS Harlan R. Dickson. He was present when the ship was commissioned on Dec. 17, 1945, in Brooklyn Navy Yard and served on her until he left the Armed Services in 1946. Upon returning home he was a Commander of VFW Post 360 in the town of St. George, S.C.
He was president of Westbury Trucking and Concrete Co., Inc.; a licensed Real Estate Broker; President of ETH/Westbury GMBH; grateful and recovering member of AA for over 39 years. He was a member of the South Carolina Trucking Association, Board Member of South Carolina Trucking Association, Board Member Emeritus; member of Mining Association of South Carolina; member of South Carolina Waterfowl Association; member of Tri-County Regional Chamber of Commerce; and retired Board member and chairman of Fellowship By the Sea.
Mr. Westbury is survived by his wife, Margaret R. Westbury of St. George, S.C.; son, Manning D. Westbury, Jr. of St. George; daughter, Katherine Darlene Westbury Walters of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; two brothers, Prioleau W. Westbury of St. George, S.C. and Brunson M. Westbury of Summerville, S.C.; and one sister, Linda E. Westbury of St. George, S.C. He was also the brother of the late Truette Wardell Westbury of Holly Hill, S.C. and the late Kenneth O'Neil Westbury of Orangeburg, S.C. He is also survived by five grandchildren.

HUGGINS, Sr., F. Edwin
HEMINGWAY, S.C. - F. Edwin Huggins, Sr., 89, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002 in a Georgetown nursing center.
Mr. Huggins was born in Hemingway, a son of the late Frederick Eugene Huggins and the late Margaret Eaddy Huggins. He was the former owner of the F.E. Huggins Hardware, a member of the Hemingway United Methodist Church, Sunday School Superintendent and Church Trustee for 20 years. He was a former Clerk and Town Councilman for 40 years, former Fire Chief for 30 years, a member of the Civil Defense and was a graduate of Hemingway High School.
Mr. Huggins was married
to the late Letha Brown Huggins.
Surviving are one son, F. Edwin Huggins, Jr. of Pawleys Island, S.C.; granddaughter, Holly H. Wall of Hemingway; grandson, Winn Huggins of Eastover, S.C.; three sisters, Mildred Hanks of Hampton, S.C., Marguerite O'Bryan and Sadie Mae Brockington both of Florence; 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the MORRIS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL in Hemingway with burial in the Old Johnsonville cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
RAHN, Sr., Oliver
RUFFIN - Oliver Marion Rahn, Sr., 75, a retired sales manager for Pearce-Young-Angel Co., died Wednesday at Trident Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the graveside in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. David Cox and directed by the Fred Parker Funeral Home.
Mr. Rahn was born Mar. 15, 1927 in Islandton, a son of the late Oliver Herschel Rahn and Marian Murdaugh Rahn. He attended St. Johns United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre. He was the widower of Joyce Williams Rahn.
Surviving are three sons, Oliver M. Rahn, Jr. of Summerville, Clinton A. Rahn of James Island and Joseph M. Rahn of Ruffin, a brother, Furman Rahn of Sumter, two sisters, Evelyn R. Moore of Sumter and Joan R. Rohrbach of Atlanta, Ga., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME.

BAILEY, Emily
Emily Williamson Bailey, 83, of the Bethea Baptist Home, died Wednesday morning, June 12, 2002 in the Bethea Home Infirmary after an illness.
Mrs. Bailey was born in Darlington, SC, a daughter of the late Edward and Dora Garrett Williamson. She was a graduate of St. Johns High School and attended Business College. She was formerly employed with the U. S. Pentagon during World War II and had retired from Florence General Hospital as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Mizpah Baptist Church and served as the church treasurer and a Sunday School teacher. She was instrumental in establishing the Homebound Ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" J. Bailey, who died in 1963 and by 4 brothers, Edward Williamson, Eugene Williamson, Joseph Williamson and Lacy Williamson.
Surviving are 1 son, Dr. robert "Bobby" D. Bailey and his wife, Mary Ellen Putnam Bailey, of Summerville, SC; 1 granddaughter, Megan Alexandra Bailey of Summerville, SC; 5 nieces and 2 nephews.

Dr. Snyder was born July 29, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of William Huston Snyder and Pearl Dietz Snyder. He was a 1961 Citadel graduate and received his Masters Degree in 1965 and Ph.D. in 1968 from the University of South Carolina. He practiced Clinical Psychology for 30 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Folly Beach, SC. Other memberships included the SC Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association, the Charleston Area Psychological Association, Charleston Area Citadel Club, Citadel Alumni Association, the Citadel Brigadier Club, past board member of the Charleston YMCA and an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC and his father of Pittsburgh, PA; 2 daughters- Sheri Snyder Matthews and Lynn Snyder DeStefano, both of Johns Island, SC; one son- Dr. William H. Snyder, III of Charleston, SC; one sister- Suzanne Snyder Hartmann of Pittsburgh, PA; 2 granddaughters- Lyndsey Anne DeStefano and Hope Caroline Matthews; 2 grandsons- John William DeStefano and Judson Huntington Matthews.
