Elizabeth Ackerly Brewer, 81, widow of Sears Brewer, of Summerville, SC died Monday, June 10, 2002 at a Charleston Hospital.

Brewer, Sr. and his wife Dawn Brewer of Ridgeville; five grandchildren, Amy Streets, Catherine Watson, Gary S. Brewer, Jr., Ronald L. Brewer, Jr., and Elizabeth M. Brewer; former daughter-in-law, Elizabeth C. Brewer, mother of Ronald L. Brewer, Jr. and Elizabeth M. Brewer; and two great-grandchildren.

EVANS, Mary
Mary Sybil Evans, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died Wednesday, June 11, 2002 in a local nursing home. The funeral services will be Friday morning, June 14, 2002 in J. Miss Evans was born in Newberry, SC, a daughter of Everett Marshall Evans and Mary Matilda Deaver Evans. Miss Evans was a graduate of Newberry High School and Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing. She was retired from Roper Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of North Charleston United Methodist Church.

HAINES, David
David Arthur Haines, 37, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, formerly of Easthampton, MA, died Monday, June 10, 2002. Funeral services will be in Easthampton, MA at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Mr. Haines was born in Woburn, MA, son of Alan Brown Haines and Betty Pearson O'Donnell. David was a Laborer with C & B Sandblasting & Painting Co. He was a graduate of Longmeadow School for the Deaf and Alumni of Clarke School for the Deaf.
Surviving are his father of Bethlehem, NH and mother of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three brothers- Michael Haines of Billerica, MA, Jeffrey Pearson of Florence, MA, and Christopher O'Donnell of Longmont, CO; three nephews; one niece; and two cousins. David is also survived by a very close friend and soul mate, Carolyn Feagin of Timmonsville, SC.

Mr. Pennington was born in Gaffney, SC, the son of Grover Cleveland Pennington and Hattie Salmon Pennington. He attended James Island Presbyterian Church. He graduated from the Citadel with a BS in Physics. He was the retired chief engineer of Combat Systems at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He served in the South Carolina National Guard for 12 years. He was past president of the Charleston Amateur Radio Society. He was a master mason with Mariner Lodge #2.
Surviving are his wife of Charleston, SC; three sons- Bobby Earl Pennington, Jr. and wife Tamra Mewborn Pennington of Summerville, SC, Paul Legare Pennington and wife Nancy Wagner Pennington of Charleston, SC, and Michael Eugene Pennington of Charleston, SC; two brothers- Riley Eugene Pennington of Gaffney, SC, and John Cleveland Pennington of Charleston, SC; two sisters- Mildred C. Clifton of Goose Creek, SC, and Frances P. Putnam of Palmdale, CA; three grandchildren- Bobby Earl Pennington, III, Ashley Nicole Pennington, and Amanda Arlean Pennington.

LEMACKS, Myra
Mrs. Myra Gertrude Lemacks, 92, of Hanahan went home to her eternal reward on Tuesday morning, June 11 at Trident Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home in Walterboro. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston.
Mrs. Lemacks was born in Walterboro on July 29, 1909, a daughter of the late William Perry Gatch and Martha Harriet Adams Gatch. She was a retired flight nursery attendant at the Charleston Air Force Base and was a member of Ferndale Baptist Church in North Charleston. She was first married
to the late Jacob Preston Canady, then to the late Henry Earl Brown, and also to the late William Clyde Lemacks.
She is survived by her sister, Martha Theresa Scoggins of Walterboro, a brother, Melvin Hood Gatch of Ladson, three daughters, Earline Brown May of St. Stephen, Gertrude "Trudy" Isgitt of Goose Creek, and Martha C. Brown of Moncks Corner, a son, Perry Franklin Cannady of Naples, Fla., a step-daughter, Mildred Lemacks of Columbia, and a step-son, Ronald Clyde Lemacks of Beaufort. Also surviving are four nieces, six nephews, 14 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son: Robert B. Spencer of Manchester, New Hampshire; one brother, Stanley Zompakos of Charleston, SC; 5 grandchildren: Paul L. Spencer, Thomas Z. Spencer, Mary L. Spencer, David B. Spencer and Katherine T. Spencer. She was pre-deceased by her son, Paul C. Spencer.
