Arb Coleman Loveday, 82, of 328 North 1st St., Lockhart, widower of Hazel Childers Loveday, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at 12:25 p.m. in Wallace Thomson Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Loveday was born in Sevierville, Tenn., on June 28, 1921, a son of the late Loyd Lawton Loveday and Demie Ball Loveday. He was a member of the Lockhart Church of God. Mr. Loveday was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was retired from Milliken & Co., Lockhart Plant.
Surviving are a sister, Lillian L. Cabiness of Lockhart and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Loveday was predeceased by two sisters and five brothers: Louzette L. Cudd, Lona L. Crocker, Clayton Loveday, Robert Loveday, Glenn Loveday, Leroy Loveday and Burl Loveday. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m Sunday at the Lockhart Cemetery. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 7 until 8:30. The family is at the home of his sister, Lillian L. Cabiness, 318 N.. 3rd St., Lockhart. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Frances A. Inabinett
Frances Elizabeth Allen Inabinett, 86, a resident of Oakmont Nursing Home and formerly of 2221 Buffalo-West Springs Highway, Buffalo, widow of Archie T. (Bubba) Inabinett, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, at 7: 11 a.m. in Wallace Thomson Hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Inabinett was born in Buffalo on Jan. 10, 1917, a daughter of the late Doss and Janie Sims Allen. She was a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church where she was Mother of the Year in 1990. She was the Nursery Coordinator for over 30 years; a member of the Ross Roundtree Sunday School Class and the Buffalo United Methodist Church Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Inabinett was retired from the Engineering Department of United Merchants, Buffalo Plant. Mrs. Inabinett is survived by her daughter, Sara Ann Inabinett Settle of Union; a granddaughter, Paula Ann Settle Thompson of Buffalo; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Vivian A. Barker and Mable A. Willard.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Buffalo United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Phillip Chandler and the Rev. Jerry Lawson. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be in the parlor of Buffalo United Methodist Church Wednesday from 1 until 2:15 p.m.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Sara Settle, 200 Bermuda Run, Union. Memorials may be made to the Renovation Fund of Buffalo United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 176, Buffalo, S.C. 29321. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Eddie Mae Kirby
Eddie Mae (Dank) Horne Kirby, 74, formerly of Jonesville, widow of John C. Kirby, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at 4:20 a.m. in Wallace Thomson Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Kirby was born in Union County on Sept. 3, 1928, a daughter of the late Ed and Ella Inman Horne. She was a member of Sulpher Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Kirby was retired from J. P. Stevens Co., Jonesville Plant.
Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Cecile Lee Hill of Union; Sandra Kirby of Barnwell and Paula Leonard of Union; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Deborah Pelham of Salem, Ala.; Dexter and Sue Pelham of Jonesville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Hope (Carrie) Holcombe of Jonesville and Mrs. Elliott (Lib) Scronce of York; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. today at Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel conducted by the Rev. Travis King. Burial was in the Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Todd Simmons, Tommy Simmons, Tommy Adams, Todd Parker, Nick Belue and Bobby Gault. The family received friends at Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel Sunday night from 7 until 9.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Mary and Cecile Lee Hill, 1934 Santuc-Carlisle Highway. Memorials may be made to the Eddie Mae Kirby Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, S.C. 29379. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Jasmine J. Means
Jasmine J. Means died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at Wallace Thomson Hospital. The family is receiving friends at 920 N. Church St., Union. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the Union Community Funeral Home.
Faye Ingle Goode
YUCAIPA, Calif. Faye Elizabeth Ingle Goode, 70, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, in Yucaipa. A native of Union, she was a daughter of the late Gracie Mae Blitchington Ingle and Richard Talmage Ingle.
Surviving are a brother, Donald Lee Ingle of Northern California; a daughter, Candy Hotz of San Diego, Calif.; three sons, Jade, Payne and Claude, all of California; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A number of aunts, uncles and cousins still live in the Union area. A music lover, she will be missed by relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Jasmine J. Means
Jasmine Jermain (Main-Main) Means, 21, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, in Wallace Thomson Hospital. He was born March 19, 1982. He was the son of Brenda M. McKenzie and step-father Christopher McKenzie and Jerry D. Smith and step-mother, Crystal Smith. He was the grandson of H. T. and the late Irene Means and Geneva and the late Joe Lewis Smith.
Surviving are a sister, Toni M. Dawkins of Union; two brothers, Kevin M. Means and Everette D. Means, both of Union; two half-brothers,, Jerry D. Smith Sr. of Spartanburg and Zachary Dillion of Union; a half-sister, Charita Smith of Spartanburg; four step-sisters, Trela Jeter, Crusta Jeter, Saria Benson and Rachael Johnson; four nephews, Terrance Lindsay, RaShaid Means, Gy'Emanuel Means and Demetrius Means, all off Union; a niece, Chelsey Dawkins of Union; a goddaughter, Jastahja Stroud and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and a special friend.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Wyatt Chapel Church by the Rev. Jefferson McDowell. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home until 7 p.m. today and from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday. The Union Community Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Clarence A. Talley
NEW HAVEN, CONN. Clarence A. Talley, 81, of Ivy Street, New Haven, Conn., husband of the late Mamie Perry Talley, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, after an extended illness. Mr. Talley was born in Union County on Nov. 24, 1921, a son of the late James and Lurlie Talley. He was employed by U.S. Repeating Arms as a set up man.
He is survived by two sons, Jerome and David Talley; three daughters, Linda Sylvia, Delores McQueen and Bernestine Talley; three brothers, Leroy, Sylvester and Ernest E. Talley; four sisters, Mealer Mae Ford, Rosener Kershaw, Mary Louise Young and Rosellen Keenan; a daughter-in-law, Mary Talley; son-in-law, Ira McQueen; sister-in-law, Vera Chapman; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St. Friends may call the church from 10 until 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Curvin K. Council Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. Announcement courtesy of the Carolina Mortuary.
Quintavious R. Green
Quintavious R. Green, 2, of 30A Traction St., Greenville, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003. He was born July 11, 2001, a son of Keisha Smith and Lintavious Green. Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Damian Smith and Qusntavious Green; his grandmother, Rozella Bowers; two step-grandfathers, Derrick Latimer and Joseph Bowers; and great-grandfather, J. Vant Means.
Viewing will be held Friday from 8:30 a.m. until noon at the Gibson & Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Union. Funeral services will be held Saturday at Watkins & Garrett Mortuary in Greenville. The Gibson & Brown Funeral Home and Watkins & Garret Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Jolene M. Bright
WOODRUFF Sadaria Jolene Manley Bright, age 64, of 128 Connie Drive, Woodruff, died Thursday, Aug.14, 2003 at 10:17 a.m. in B.J. Workman Hospital in Woodruff after a sudden illness. Mrs. Bright was born in Oconee County on Nov. 10, 1938, a daughter of the late Livie Manley and Evelyn Tannery Turner. She was a member of South Spartanburg Baptist Church in Pauline and was formerly employed with Gardner's Health and Food Store in Greenwood.
Surviving are three daughters, Deborah Gail Jackson of Enoree, Shirlene Coffrin of Charlotte and Wanda Bright of Piedmont; a son, Thomas Eugene Bright of Charlotte; three sisters, Barbara Taylor of Gilbert, Patricia Jordan of Gaffney and Linda Perry of Liberty; a brother, Kenneth Manley of Clifton; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Union conducted by the Rev. Shannon Faulkner. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9. The family is at the home of her daughter, Deborah Jackson, 2992 Grace Chapel Road, Enoree. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
