Mrs. Brailsford was born August 3, 1917 in Eastman, Georgia, the daughter of Oscar Roy Draffin and Maggie Pauline Smith Draffin. She retired as bookkeeper from Brailsford's Metal Works and later with Brailsford's Nursery. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church.
She is survived by 3 daugthers: Martha Lee Brailsford of Charleston, S.C., Linda B. Foster of Greenville, S.C. and Connie B. Waterer of Jacksonville, Florida. Three grandchildren: Lee Foster of Greenville, S.C. and Caroline and Geoffrey Waterer of Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr. Dykes was born October 21, 1930 in Blue Springs, Ala., the son of John Harmon Dykes and Mimie Helms Dykes. He served with the U.S. Air Force during Korea and Viet Nam. After his retirement from the service as a Sr. Master Sgt. he worked with the Commission of Public Works. He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, The German Friendly Society, Past Master Landmark Lodge #76, the Charleston Rifle Club, Charleston Elks Lodge #242, Wesley Whirlers Square Dance Club and a long term student with Arthur Murray Dance Studio.
He is survived by his wife of Charleston, S.C.; one son, Steven M. Dykes of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Elizabeth Dykes Sibbald of Charleston, S.C.; 2 brothers, John Henry Dykes of Baton Rouge, La. and Doyle W. Dykes of Garland, Tex.; one sister, Louise D. Brackins of Dothan, Ala. and 3 grandchildren, Ryan Alexander Dykes, Meghan Rhea Sibbald and Lauren Elizabeth Sibbald.

Mr. Byers was born May 28, 1930 in Naples, North Carolina, the son of the late Mont Bunyan and Mattie Moore Byers. Mr. Byers was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard, Machine Shop 06 with 22 years of service. He was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers with a Honorary Lifetime Membership. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife of North Charleston, S.C.; three sons, Arthur Daniel Byers, Jr. of Blythewood, S.C., John M. Byers of St. Mary's GA, Peter J. Byers of Cottageville, S.C.; two daughters, Susan B. O'Laughlin of Charleston, S.C., Jane B. Snider of Goose Creek, S.C.; two sisters, Betty Broome of Pensacola, FL and Gladys Andrews of Fletcher, North Carolina and nine grandchildren.

Edna Ann Schott Garforth, 74, wife of Ezra "Bud" Garforth, Jr. of Charleston died Thursday, June 6, 2002 at her residence. Mrs. Garforth was born Monday, August 1, , 1927 in Yonkers, N.Y. a daughter of John Irving Schott and Edna Watson Tommasi Schott. She was a graduate of Sargent College at Boston University and was the co-owner of Gingiss Formalware. Mrs. Garforth was a volunteer at the Bryn Mawr Hospital in Pennsylvania, a member of the Country Club of Charleston and St. James Episcopal Church. MURRAY, Reba
Reba Viola Hill Murray, 88, of Lebanon, a retired inspector with Manhattan Shirt Factory, died Friday at a Moncks Corner nursing home.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL. Burial will be in Rudd Branch cemetery.
Mrs. Murray was born June 24, 1913 at Berkeley County, S.C., a daughter of Orin Hill and Ruby Varner Hill. She was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Gus Murray.
Surviving are two sons, Jack M. Murray of Lebanon, Tom M. Murray of Moncks Corner; three sisters, Iris M. Austin of Lebanon, Marie Knight of Hilton Head, Lela Troxclair of Covington, La.; two brothers, Robert Hill of Ridgeville, Clyde Hill of Summerville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

ST. GEORGE - Mrs. Ella Mae Baxter Harrison, 74, of 217 Horne Street, St. George, died Wednesday, at her home after an extended illness.

Mrs. Harrison was born October 20, 1927 in Dorchester County, S.C., a daughter of the late Charlie Baxter and Mrs. Ella Mae McCants Baxter. She was the widow of Jimmy Harrison, Sr. She attended the public schools of Orangeburg County and was a life-long member of the Second Presbyterian Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Charles Hampton "Chazz" Harrison and Sammie Lee (Sandra) Harrison all of St. George, S.C., Lawrence (Gerlien) Harrison of Lancaster, S.C., Otis Alexander (Denise) of Orangeburg, S.C. and adopted daughter, Mrs. Bennie Jean Brown of St. George, S.C., a devoted granddaughter, Ms. Crystal Bryant of St. George, a devoted grandson, Jodeci Harrison of St. George, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Betty Harrison of Summerville, S.C. She is also survived by eight additional grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

CADES - Mr. Frenly Ray Baker, 76, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, in Cape Canaveral Hospital, Florida, after an illness.
Mr. Baker was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Frenly Clinton and Elizabeth Louise McElveen Baker. He was a graduate of Hebron High School and was an aircraft inspector for the Charleston Air Force Base. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church and an Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Exchange Field of North Charleston, was a coach and commissioner for Dixie Youth Baseball and was an avid golfer and gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Lucille McElveen Baker of Cades; two sons, David (Sylvia) Baker of Houston, Tex. and Daniel (Kara) Baker of Merritt Island, Fla.; one daughter, Lynn Kopelke of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Gerald (Mae) Baker of Cades and Kenneth (Sarah) Baker of Charleston; four sisters, Cora Lynn Moore of Florence, Juanita Askins of Hemingway, Elsie Faye (Gerald) Smith of Cades and Libby Parker of Lake City; and three grandchildren, Tyson Kopelke, Jessica Kopelke and Anna Baker.
Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel, Lake City, with burial in the Hebron United Methodist Church cemetery.
