Cynthia Green Turner, 47, widow of Robert L. Turner, of Summerville, S.C. died Sunday, June 2, 2002 in Dorchester County.

A memorial service for Esther Burgess Orr, 98, of 377 Wades Way, Allendale, S.C. will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Allendale First Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Jay Kieve. The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 at the church prior to the service. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, S.C. Mrs. Orr, widow of the late Warren H. Orr, died June 6, at her residence in Allendale. Born in Pacolet, S.C. on July 8, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Martin Burgess and Sarah (Sallie) George Burgess. She was a graduate of Pacolet High School and The Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1927. She came to Inman as a nurse for Drs. Thompson and Miller and later worked with her husband at Orr Rexall Drugs. She was a long-time active member of Inman First Baptist Church. At the time of her death, she was a member of Allendale First Baptist Church.
Survivors are as follows, daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Tom White of Allendale and Jean and Posey Belcher of Barnwell; grandchildren, Eunice Elizabeth White and Mark Warren White of Allendale, Esther White Wilson of Spanish Fort, Ala., David Orr Belcher of Springfield, Mo., Philip Burgess Belcher of Spartanburg, Elizabeth Belcher Mixon of Rock Hill, Miriam Belcher Ponder of Blythewood: seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul A. Burgess of Greenwood, and a sister, Ruth Burgess Knox of Spartanburg; nieces and nephews.
BROWN, Sr., Ralph
Ralph Hilton Brown, Sr., 74, husband of Jean Strickland Brown of John's Island, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002 in a Charleston hospital. Mr. Brown was born Friday, May 11, 1928 in Clio, SC, the son of Raymond Lamar and Annie Pauline Melton Brown. He was a retired pressman for the Atlanta Journal Constitution for many years, a Past Master of the Georgia #295, A.F.M., and a member of the York Rite. He loved fly, fishing, tying flies, bird watching and crossword puzzles. Mr. Brown honorably served his county as a Sergeant in the US Army. He was a Baptist. Surviving in addition to his wife of John's Island is a son Ralph H. Brown, Jr., of Atlanta, Ga, a daughter, Lynn B. Parker and her husband Wayne of Oklahoma City, OK., a granddaughter, Leah S. Hampton and her husband Michael of Oklahoma City, OK., a grandson, Kalin Stroud of Oklahoma City, OK., and a sister, Betty Balley of Summerville, SC.
The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2002 in the JAMES A. McALISTER CHAPEL, 1620 SAVANNAH HWY. Gloria Marie Marchesi Silva, 72, of Charleston, formerly of New York and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. died Tuesday, June 4th at a local hospital. She was the daughter of the late George J. and Delia Roscelli Marchesi. Mrs. Silva was married
to the late Dr. Robert A. Silva. She was a graduate of Good Counsel Academy in Whiteplains, N.Y. and received her Bachelors in Biology in 1950 and then received her Masters in Genetics in 1951 from the Fordham University. Mrs. Silva is survived by her son, Mark Silva of Charleston, two daughters, Cindy Aldridge of Landenberg, Penn. and Melanie Craven of W. Harrison, N.Y. Four grandchildren also survive her. Mr. Ingram was born November 10, 1925 in Miami, Florida, a son of the late John W. and Mattie Fitchett Ingram. Mr. Ingram was a graduate of Pageland High School (SC) and had attended Clemson College prior to entering the United States Navy during World War II. Prior to moving to Charleston, Mr. Ingram had lived many years in Greenville, SC and had worked in the radio broadcast business in advertising. Mr. Ingram retired from Jones Ford, North Charleston, SC as a fleet salesman.
Surviving are his wife of Goose Creek, S.C., his children, Billy Ingram of Ash, NC., Susan Murphy of Dumfries, Va., Melissa I. Bentz of Rocky Mt., NC, Mark Ingram of Charleston, SC, Cyndee Stoppelbein of Goose Creek, SC, Angela Bragg of Piedmont, Alabama, his step-children, Sheri Geer of Summerville, SC, Corey Bullock of Charleston, SC, Cathy Thompson of Ninety-Six, SC, Chuck Thornton and Libby Sullivan both of Spartanburg, SC, a brother, Rex Ingram of Nassawadox, Va., 22 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mr. Ingram leaves his beloved dogs, Toughie and Rustie.
