Mr. Smythe was born June 1, 1920 in Charleston, SC, the son of Augustine Thomas Smythe and Harriott Ravenel Buist Smythe. He was a graduate of Yale University and the University of Virginia Law School. He served in the US Navy during WWII and Korea. He was a founding partner of Buist, Moore, Smythe, and McGee. He was a member and elder of The Second Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC; four sons, Guy R. Smythe, Henry B. Smythe, Jr., David McC. Smythe, and George B. Smythe, all of Charleston, SC; one sister, Frances Ravenel Edmunds of Charleston, SC; one brother, Dr. Cheves McC. Smythe of Houston, Texas; and 11 grandchildren.

George H. Bennett, Jr. (Bubba) died Friday September 6, 2002 in Brunswick, Ga. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Shirley Bennett, sisters Deborah Edwards and Sandy Marsh, one brother William H. Bennett, daughter Sacha Lee-Anna Bennett, granddaughter Savannah Lee-Ann Bennett.

SPADOTTO, Ted
Ted E. Spadotto, 75, of Charleston, died August 29, 2002. Mr. Spadotto was born in Charleston, but lived in Syracuse, N.Y., for 50 years.
Mr. Spadotto was a life-long contractor who was responsible for the donation and restoration of the Historical Onodaga Park's bandstand. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Charleston.
Mr. Spadotto was preceded in death by a son, John, in 1968.
Survivors include, beloved wife, Beverly O'Loughlin Spadotto; five daughters, Joanne S. Deitz, Syracuse, N.Y., Beverly Spadotto, Santa Monica, Calif., Dianne S. Louer, Syracuse, N.Y., Robin S. Henty, Syracuse, N.Y., Dolores Spadotto, Syracuse, N.Y.; one son, Ted Spadotto, Camillus, N.Y.; sisters, Florence Capozzi, North Syracuse, N.Y., Gloria Hogg, Syracuse, N.Y., Diane Iannuzzo, Marcellus, N.Y.; one brother, Angelo Spadotto, Marcellus, N.Y.; ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held September 4, 2002, at St. Ann's Church in Syracuse, N.Y. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery.

Beverly Jean Totten Church, 65, of Summerville, formerly of North Fort Myers, Fla., died Tuesday morning, September 10, 2002, at the residence of her son, Kenneth, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial service will be held Friday, September 13, 2002, at 11 o'clock in James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private.

Born on November 30, 1936, in Vancouver, Wash., a daughter of Dorothy Myer Totten of Beaverton, Mich., and the late Norton S. Totten. She was a graduate of Tempe High School in Tempe, Ariz. She was a member of Audubon Society. She was a 40 year resident of North Fort Myers, Fla. She was a retired Chef with Matlacha Seafood Restaurant in Pine Island, Fla. She was the Protestant faith.
Surviving are, her mother, three sons, Kenneth A. Church of Summerville, S.C., Robert W. Church and James N. Church both of North Fort Myers, Fla.; two grandchildren, Ted Davis and Teasha Davis Moon, both of Goose Creek, S.C.; one great-grandson, Cody Jamison Moon of Goose Creek, S.C.; two great-granddaughters, Krystine and Karley Davis of Goose Creek; one sister, Joan Totten Rezmer of Beaverton, Mich.

Mrs. Cora Clement Williams, 82, of 925 Cleveland St., Greenville, S.C., died Saturday, January 19, 2002, at a Greenville hospital following a brief illness.
The family will receive friends, 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2002, at First Baptist Church of Greenville, and will celebrate her life with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m., in the church chapel with the Rev. Dr. Hardy Clemons and the Rev. Michelle McClendon officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m., in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, in Spartanburg, S.C.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her three children and their spouses, Dell and Charles Dixon of Mooresville, N.C.; Kathy and Bruce Williams of Florence, S.C.; Kathy and Rick Day of Lilburn, Ga.; her seven grandchildren, Charles Dixon, III, and his wife Kaysi of Simpsonville, S.C.; Christie Dixon Ganshert and her husband, John of Kannapolis, N.C.; Steve, Brooke and Lindsay Williams of Florence, S.C.; Kelly and Stuart Day of Lilburn, Ga.; her two sisters, Nelle Clement of Greenville, S.C.; Mary Lowe and her husband Frank of Anderson, S.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Virginia Clement, Lillian Clement Williams, and Lula Clement Saye Wakefield; her brothers, Vernon, Broadus, and Bill Clement.
