THOMPSON, Cornelia
Cornelia Drawdy Thompson, 76, of Charleston, widow of Charles Raymond Thompson, Sr., died Saturday, January 19, 2002, at a local hospital. Mrs. Thompson was born on May 15, 1925, in Walterboro, S.C., a daughter of Grover Cleveland Drawdy and Lucile Olive Hoats Drawdy. She attended schools in Colleton County and graduated from Coker College. Mrs. Thompson especially enjoyed the game of golf. She was a member of Sandy Dam Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Thompson Adams and her husband Frank of Folly Beach and Hodges, S.C.; a son, Charles Raymond Thompson, Jr., and his wife Jane of Charleston; a sister, Margaret D. Kvaternik of Sumter, S.C., and six grandchildren, Charles Francis Adams, Thomas Asheton Adams, Emily Ann Adams, Charles Raymond Thompson, III, William Gilmore Thompson and Ann Elizabeth Olive Thompson. Mrs. Fair was born on June 12, 1921, a daughter of Harold and Frances Taylor in Coney Island, N.Y. She was a resident of Livingston, N.J. for many years and retired to Kiawah Island and Summerville. She was a member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church in Summerville. She was active in the Girl Scouts and was a member of the Rosary Society. She graduated from Demarest High School in Hoboken, N.J. and attended Montclair State University.
Surviving are her husband, Warren E. Fair of Summerville; daughter, Susan Boykin of Summerville; son, Robert E. Fair of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Nancy Harvey of Yorba Linda, Calif.; granddaughter, Alyssa Beth Harvey of Yorba Linda, Calif.; and brother-in-laws, Ralph Fair of Marco Island, Fla. and Jack Powanda of Clearwater, Fla.

Mr. Pond is survived by his wife, Sissy Button Pond of North Charleston, two daughters, Joy Versetti (Kevin) and Jill Mears (Buzzy Madray), both of North Charleston, two sons, John D. Pond (Jude) of Calabash, North Carolina, and James H. Pond of Boynton Beach, Florida, two brothers, Douglas Pond of Syracuse, New York and William Pond of Elkland, Pennsylvania and eight grandchildren.

THOMPSON, Richard
BRANCHVILLE - Mr. Richard Ernest Thompson, 81 years of age, of 247 Princewood St. died Sunday a.m. at the an Orangeburg hospital.
Mr. Thompson was born in Orangeburg Co., a son of the late Richard Jesse Thompson, and Mamie Crook Thompson. He was a member of the Prospect Southern Methodist Church, former church trustee and steward, a member of the adult Sunday school class. A trustee of Thompsoncemetery, a member of the Branchville Masonic Lodge #110 AFM, attended the Branchville High School, the Nashville Aircraft Mechanical School, worked at the Goodyear Aircraft Company in Akron, Ohio, a retired dairy and row crop farmer, and a life long resident of the community.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 3:00 p.m. at the Prospect Southern Methodist Church. Ministers presiding will be Charles Hopkins, Bobby Ethridge, Jerry Thompson and Wayne Manning. Interment will follow at the Thompsoncemetery. The casket will be placed in the Thompsoncemetery. (Savon) Gramling, Sr. both of Bowman, one brother, Mr. Samuel Heyward Thompson of Branchville, two sisters, Mrs. Grady (Emma Mae) Calvin Murray of Grover, and Mrs. Gaynell Thompson Cannon of Columbia, a foster sister, Mrs. Julian (Mildred) Baker of Harleyville, two grandsons, Mr. Ernie Kirven of Branchville, and Mr. Joel Kirven of St. George, three granddaughters, Mrs. Wayne (Tonya) Freeman of Branchville, Mrs. Bitty (Beverly) Ethridge of Bowman, and Mrs. Patrick (Carmen) Wilson of West Columbia, seven great-grandsons, Phillip Freeman, Wyatt Kirven, Dalton Ethridge, Kyle Freeman, Kobie Kirven, Rudy Kirven, and Alec Freeman, one great-granddaughter, Jordan Ethridge and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gunnells was active prior to his illness with the Stratford High School Chain Crew.

Mr. Bruhn was born on August 27, 1910 in Paris, Tennessee, a son of the late Herman and Ethel Robinson Bruhn. Mr. Bruhn was a retired outside machinist, Shop #38, at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a graduate of Grove High School and a member of the North Charleston Church of Christ.

Bruhn of Moncks Corner, S.C.; one sister, Virginia B. Snow of Paris, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Cynthia Lynn Albach and husband, J.
