DAVIS, Genevieve
Mrs. Genevieve Hodges Davis, 79, of 906 First Street West in Hampton, died Wednesday morning in the Hampton Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born December 24, 1922, in Jasper County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Henry Hodges and Bell Smith Hodges. Mrs. Davis had been a seamstress with the Holiday Ware Corporation for many years and was a member of the Tillman Baptist Church in Tillman, S.C.
She is survived by three sons, Glynn Davis of Varnville, Harry Eugene Davis of Levy, S.C., and Johnny Davis of Hampton; three daughters, Peggy Jarrell and Lynn Mattie, both of Hampton, and Rita Davis of Varnville. There are ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was the widow of James Boyce "Buck" Davis and was predeceased by three sons and one grandson.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m., in the chapel of PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME IN HAMPTON, conducted by Rev. Barney Tuten with burial following in the Tillman Methodist Church cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m., and Friday morning until the hour of services.

HAYNE, Sr., Anthony
Entered into eternal rest on March 26, 2002, Mr. Anthony H. (Tony) Hayne, Sr. He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Lisa Hayne, father of Staff Sgt. Anthony H. Hayne, Jr., grandfather of Baby Eythan Hayne, son of the late Mr. John and Mrs. Hilda Hayne, brother of Mrs. Ruth H. Mavis, Ms. Frances Hayne, Mr. Joseph E. Hayne, and the late Mr. Thomas Hayne and Mr. John Hayne, Jr., and uncle of Ruth and Donald Craig and Theresa and Peter Mavis. Mass of Christian Burial and inhumation was held in Little Ferry N.J. Announced by HARLESTON-BOAGS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 121 Calhoun St. (Downtown) Charleston, S.C. Phone (843) 723-3066.

The relatives and friends of Mrs. Alice Gordon Drayton and those of her husband, the late Mr. Ellis Drayton, those of her children, Mrs. Elouise Wilson (Robert), Mrs. Pearl Rivers (Lawrence), Mrs. Marie Mitchell (Randolph), Mr. Vernon Drayton (Cathy), Mr. Ellis Drayton (Marie), Mr. Herbert Drayton (Harriett), and the late Mrs. Ethel Richardson, those of her brothers and sisters, Mr. Elijah Gordon (Carrie), Mrs. Helen Menesee, Mr. David Gordon (Regina), Mr. Melvin Gordon (Margrite) and Mrs. Mary Greene (Harold), grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins are invited to attend her home-going service on Thursday, April 18, 2002, 1 p.m., at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Ravenel, S.C. Interment, church cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be this evening at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements have been made by AIKEN-CAPERS FUNERAL HOME.

KENNEDY, Jr., John
The relatives and friends of John Joseph "Buddy" Kennedy, Jr., are invited to attend his Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2002 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A reception will be held after the Memorial Mass at J.B. Pivots, 1662 Savannah Hwy., Charleston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shaggers Hall of Fame Foundation, P.O. BRANT, Toxey
YEMASSEE - Funeral services for Toxey Anita Brant, 81, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the graveside in Ebenezer cemetery, directed by the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME.
Miss Brant died Monday in Jacksonville, Fla.

SMALLS, Rosetta
The relatives and friends of Mrs. Rosetta B. Smalls of Huger, S.C., wife of Mr. Rudolph Smalls are invited to attend her funeral services Friday, April 19, 2002, 1:00 p.m. at Cainhoy Miracle Revival Center, Huger, S.C. Interment, church cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday from 3-8 p.m. at GETHERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., MONCKS CORNER, S.C.

RHODES, Margaret
Margaret Lillian Hilton Rhodes, 82, of Ladson, widow of Raymond C. Rhodes, Sr., died Wednesday morning in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 11 o'clock in James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will be in White Church cemetery, Dorchester Road, Summerville.
Friends may call the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening.
Mrs. Rhodes was born January 7, 1920, at the family home on Grove Street, in Charleston, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Allen Leslie Hilton, Sr. and Lillian Christina Jamison Hilton. She attended Ladson Elementary School and was a graduate of North Charleston High School, Class of 1939. She was a former beautician. She was a member of the Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) and the Ladson Home Demonstration Club. She provided care to her uncle Thomas and her mother until their deaths. She was a, life long, active member of Stallsville United Methodist Church, Summerville, until declining health prevented her attendance.
Surviving are 2 sons, Terry W. Rhodes of Summerville and Franklin L. Rhodes of North Charleston; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Herbert R. Hilton, Sr. of Ladson, Allen L. Hilton, Jr. of Ladson; 4 sisters, Lois R. Drawdy of Summerville, Joyce H. Veronee of Summerville, Shirley J. Davis of Ladson, Adelle R. Kratt of Wabasha, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sons Raymond C. Rhodes, Jr. and Larry L. Rhodes, her daughter Anna Margaret Rhodes.

SMITH, Jack
ANDERSON - John Robert Smith, 81, of 4040 Midway Road, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anderson, he was a 1938 graduate of Anderson Boys High School and a 1943 graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, School of Pharmacy. He was retired from the Eli Lilley Pharmaceutical Company as Regional Sales Director of the Southeastern United States. Since his retirement, he and his wife have lived in Anderson for the past 25 years and were faithful members of St. John's United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Farran Smith; two sons, Russell Farran Smith of Summerville, S.C. and Dr. Robert Holland Smith of Roswell, Ga.; three sisters, Thelma Ross of Society Hill, Virginia Albriton of Easley, and Edwina Erwin of Carey, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Samuel Holland and Mable Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, conducted by Dr. William R. Childs and Dr. John M. Younginer, Jr. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Northeast Chapel, 3205 N. Highway 81. The family is at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church Building Fund, 515 South McDuffie Street, Anderson, S.C. 29624.

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of April 17, 2002, Hazel LaVelle Dean, residence, James Island, S.C. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services Friday at 11 o'clock in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Interment, Holy Cross cemetery. Friends may call at Stuhr's downtown chapel Thursday evening between 7 and 9 o'clock.
Mrs. Dean was born July 15, 1930 in Habersham County, Georgia, the daughter of William Henry Dean, Sr. and Stella Key Dean. She was a retired floral designer with the Piggly Wiggly. She was a member of the 50's+ ladies ministry with James Island Christian Church.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Teresa H. Fleming of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Debbie House Nelms of Charleston, S.C.; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made to the American Lung Association of S.C., Coastal Branch, 1941 Savage Road, Ste. #200-A, Charleston, S.C. 29407.

REBER, Dean
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of April 16, 2002, Dean Mark Reber, husband of Ruby Rice Smith Reber. Residence, Hollywood, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Reber are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Friday morning, April 19, 2002 at 11 o'clock. Friends may call at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, Thursday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock.
Mr. Reber was born in Decatur, Indiana, the son of Marion Reber and Von-Vera Baltzell Reber. He was the manager of Doscher's Red and White Grocery Store.
Surviving are his wife of Hollywood, S.C.; one son, Mark W. Reber of Decatur, Indiana; two daughters, Janis Boothe of Meza, Ariz., and Susan Harris of Freehold, New Jersey; two sisters, Evelyn Adler of Decatur, Indiana and Mary Mabrey of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Chalmer Reber of Decatur, Indiana; one step-daughter, Alice Smith Grubb of Columbus, Ohio; three step-sons, Charles H. Smith of Columbus, Ohio, Alan Smith of Ridgeland, S.C., and Danny Smith of Hardeeville, S.C.; 14 grandchildren.
