WHITE, Mary
Mary Richardson White, 84, a former resident of Charleston, S.C. and most recently of the Bronx, N.Y. died April 14, 2002, while a resident in the Hebrew Nursing Home, Bronx, N.Y.
Mrs. White a Charleston resident for more than 60 years, was born on James Island, S.C. She was the daughter of the late Toby and Mary Richardson of Solegaree, S.C. and the wife of Franklin White, Sr. of James Island, who died at an early age in 1966. Mrs. White lived in the city of Charleston and was a homemaker. She was an avid church parishioner and a life time member of Payne Methodist R.M.U.E. Church on James Island.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Davenport, of the Bronx, N.Y.; a son, Willington E. White of Springfield, Va.; a brother, Richard Richardson of Charleston; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law and numerous distant relatives.

MURDAUGH, Charles
ISLANDTON - Mr. Charles Haskel "Bunny" Murdaugh, 65, of 407 Moselle Road died Monday at a local Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Rice Patch Christian Church with Rev. Dale Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Peniel Baptist Church cemetery, directed by the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Murdaugh was born in Colleton County, a son of the late Gettys Murdaugh and Pearl Sineath Murdaugh. He was a retired employee with Westinghouse in Hampton. He was a member of Rice Patch Christian Church and loved the outdoors and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Sanders Murdaugh, a daughter, Cynthia Paolello of Panama City, Fla., a sister, Dimples M. Kelehear of Islandton, brothers, Eddie "Bubba" Sineath of Islandton and Ronnie K. Murdaugh of Chapin, a granddaughter, Allison Paltis, of Panama City, Fla. and 2 great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn Baltis and Selna Baltis.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.

ADAMS, Ernest
Ernest Max Adams, 74, of Johns Island, widower of Marie Ann Adams, died Sunday at his residence.
Service and burial will be private.
Born on July 27, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Gustar Adams and Maria Dellinger Adams. He attended schools in Chicago, Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served as a military policeman. He was a Sergeant with the Fox Lake Police Department in Illinois.
Survivors include 4 sons, Mark E. Adams of Houston, Tex., Ernest M. Adams, Jr. of York, S.C., Michael G. Adams of Johns Island, S.C., Anton G. Adams of Phoenix, Ariz.; 3 daughters, Patricia S. Stoner of Johns Island, S.C., Katherine M. Reedy of Montgomery, Ala., Julie Ann Adams of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 2 brothers, Gus Adams and John Adams; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Mildred Jackson McCaskill, 86, of the Methodist Oaks, Orangeburg, S.C., died Saturday, April 13, 2002 at the Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Louie McCaskill.

YEMASSEE - Toxey Anita Brant, 81, died Monday in a Jacksonville, Fla., hospital.

Mrs. Brant was born May 11, 1920, in Mobile, Ala., a daughter of the late Lloyd Elrod Brant and Myrtle Taylor Brant. She was a Baptist.

Lois Reading Smeds, 78, of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Charleston, S.C., passed away April 16, 2002. She was born in Grand Forks N.D. on April 8, 1924, the daughter of the late Robert Elliot and Mable Clarke Reading. She as preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Lynn Smeds, and husband, James Harold Smeds. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Jamie S. and Jonathan H. Mr. Sult was born February 12, 1936, in Wytheville, Va., the son of the late Walter Ray Sult and Mabel Lewellyn Sult. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He was a graduate of Wythe County High School and had served in the United States Air Force and was a retired insurance consultant with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Mr. Sult was a member and Past Master with Hammerton Lodge #332 A.F.M.; Past District Deputy Grand Master of 2nd Masonic District of South Carolina; Scottish Rite; York Rite, Omar Temple and other Masonic Orders. Mr. Sult was an Amateur Ham "Extra Class" Radio Operator. Mr. and Mrs. Sult have celebrated 41 and a half years of marriage.
Mr. Sult is survived by his wife of Hanahan, S.C.; one son, Michael R. Sult of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, W. Eugene Sult of Norfolk, Va., Dennis Sult of Wytheville, Va.; three sisters, Lois S. Vaught, of Baltimore, Md., Paige S. Mcilwee of Strasburg, Va., Nancy S. Cregger of Wytheville, Va. Mr. Sult was preceded in death by a brother, Tommie L. Sult, of Baltimore, Md.
