COLUMBIA - Service for Charles Lawrence "Buddy" Tisdale, Jr., 68, will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Willington Road, Orangeburg, with burial in Mateeba Gardens Plantation, Hwy. 61, Summerville, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pets, Inc., 300 Orchard Dr., Columbia, or to McDowell Presbyterian Church, Greeleyville. Mr. Tisdale died Sunday, April 7, 2002. Born in Greeleyville, he was the son of the late Charles Lawrence and Thelma Player Tisdale. A graduate of Greeleyville High School, he attended Clemson College and was a lifelong Clemson supporter. An Army veteran, he served in Korea. He was employed with Sherwin-Williams Paint Store.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Guerard Tisdale; daughter and son-in-law, Rivers Tisdale and Robert Grupp of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; sisters, Betty T. Bradshaw and Dolly T. Oliver, both of Orangeburg and Joyce T. Apple of Malvern, Pa.; granddaughter, Annie Caroline Grupp; several nieces and nephews; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

CAYCE - Services for Sandra Lanette Alexander, 57, of Cayce will be held, 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at CAUGHMAN-HARMAN FUNERAL HOMES, Lexington Chapel, with entombment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Mrs. Alexander died Monday, April 8, 2002, after an extended illness. Born in Columbia she was a daughter of the late James and Dora Hagins Knight. She was a special woman, a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and friend.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Don Alexander of Cayce; sons, Alex Alexander of Leesville and David B. Alexander of Gaston; sister, Kathy Loric of Cayce; brothers, Buddy and Steve Knight of West Columbia and Donald Knight of Columbia; a number of nieces and nephews.

MCELVEEN, Wilmont
SCRANTON - Mr. Wilmont "Bill" McElveen, 74, died Sunday, April 7, 2002, in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Mr. McElveen was bron in Scranton, a son of the late Treadway and Clydda Dennis McElveen. He retired from G.B. Fermentation Industries of Kingstree, as a Maintenance Engineer. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a Mason.
Survivors include, his wife, Barbara Wise McElveen of Scranton; one son, Dennis W. (Pam Galloway) McElveen of Murrells Inlet; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Cassandra) Martin of Greenville and Mrs. Bob (Melsa) Matthews of Ladson; eight grandchildren, Will McElveen and Drew McElveen, both of Murrells Inlet, Sara Martin, Will Martin, Christie Martin and Catherine Martin, all of Greenville, Mrs. Sean (Lori) Murphy of Surfside and Mrs. Brad (Becca) Gilbert of Glendale, CA; and two great-grandchildren, Patrick Murphy, Jr. of Surfside and Tristan Gilbert of Glendale, CA.
Funeral service will be at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 9, 2002, in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Matthews cemetery, Lake City.

FRENCH, Phyllis
Phyllis Marcus French, 64, of Moncks Corner, died Monday at a North Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Berkeley Baptist Church. Burial directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, will be in Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. French was born March 10, 1938 at Coolwood, West Virginia, a daughter of Roy Marcus and Maybelle Buchanan Marcus. She was a member of Berkeley Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Noah French of Moncks Corner; two sons, Ferlin Neal French and Terry Noah French both of Moncks Corner; four brothers, Roy Marcus of Spartanburg, Daniel Marcus of Richmond, Virginia, Glenn Marcus of Winnsboro, Johnny Marcus of Huntington, West Virginia; three sisters, Dorothy Westbrock of Spartanburg, Betty Taynor of Narrows, Virginia, Reatha Ellison of Pimlico; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his former wives, Thelma H. Benton and Dorothy B. Benton, four brothers, Louis, Robert, Irvin and Ladson Benton.

Mrs. McDougall was born on March 31, 1906, in Jefferson, New Hampshire to Frederick Gessner and Lillian Wallace. She married
Edward McDougall in 1930 and was a homemaker for her married
life. They made their home in New Hampshire until 1970 when they moved to Charleston. She was a member of First Southern Methodist Church in Charleston for many years where she served her Lord and Savior as church organist until 1996. Throughout her life Mrs. McDougall was servant to many and was loved for her kindness to all.
Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Clark of Arlington, Texas, and Kathleen Michielsen of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Russell Neely of Cedar Rapids, IA., Alex Neely of Atlanta, Ga., and Audrey Wilbert of Florida. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Audrey McDougall in 2000 and her husband in 1980.
