Marie W. Helpingstine, 87, widow of Woodrow W. Helpingstine of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. died Saturday, April 13, 2002 in a local nursing home. The memorial service will be Thursday, April 18, 2002 in Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church at 1:00 o'clock. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Inurnment will be in Arlington National cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Mrs. Helpingstine was born December 3, 1914 in Brookhaven, Mississippi, the daughter of Joseph B. and Annie W. West. She retired in 1974 from the Polaris Missile Facility as an Accounts Maintenance Supervisor. Mrs. Helpingstine was a member of Milcah Temple #77, Daughters of the Nile, Lawrence Howell Court #77, Daughters of the Nile, Lawrence Howell Court #7, Order of the Amaranth and a member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Jo Anne Kensil of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and one son, Jay Elliott and his wife Jan, of Bonita Springs, Fla., three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 302 Hibben Street, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464 or to the charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Spivey was born June 27, 1923 in Andalusia, Alabama, the daughter of the late Marvin Bryant and Callie Mae Barefoot Bryant. She was a member of Ashley River Church of God. She was the owner of Spivey's Mobile Home Park and Spivey's Wrecker Service.
She is survived by her two sons, Houston Carl Crowder, Sr. and Houston Carl Crowder, Jr. both of Charleston, S.C.; five daughters, V. Etta Scheidnas of Green Sea, S.C., Barbara Canant of Charleston, S.C., Mary Beatrice Spivey of North Charleston, S.C., Christina Cindy Spivey of Summerville, S.C., Ramona Ann Spivey of North Charleston, S.C.; four stepsons, Pete Spivey of Georgiana, Ala., Jerry Spivey, Buddy Spivey and Marlin Spivey all of Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Mavis Lawson and Lala Mae Lawson both of Andalusia, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at Florida National cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on Wednesday, April 17, 2002.

Mrs. McKesson was born July 29, 1948 in Charleston, S.C., the daughter of Luder C. Messervy and Olive Oswald Messervy. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her husband of Lexington, S.C.; one daughter, Heather B. Sorenson of Salt Lake City, Utah; one son, Derek M. Bergeson of Salem, S.C.; 3 brothers, Donnie A. Messervy of Charleston, S.C., T.W. Messervy of James Island, S.C. and Luder C. Messervy, Jr. of James Island, S.C.; 4 sisters, Virginia M. Bryson of Greenville, S.C., Ann Messervy of Folly Beach, S.C., Jean McLeod of Southern Pines, N.C. and Patti M. Milton of Fredericksburg, Va.; 3 grandchildren, Adam M. Bergeson, Samantha R. Bergeson and Seabrook C. Sorenson.
