Ms. Mercer was born July 27, 1910 in Georgetown County, S.C., a daughter of James Marion Porter and Maggie Smith Porter.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah M. Lanier of Charleston, S.C., one sister, Marquerite Beasley of Farnham, Va., two grandsons, Douglas Mercer Lanier of Portsmouth, N.H., and David Lathan Lanier of Atlanta, Ga., one granddaughter, Patricia L. Granfield of Charlotte, N.C. and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Chope was born October 23, 1940, in Savannah, Ga., the daughter of Belknap Battle Bourne and Mary Crawford Bourne. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband of Charleston, S.C.; 2 daughters, Kimberly Haug of Asheville, N.C. and Paige Lee Buckles of Abingdon, Va.; one sister, Patricia B. Palmer of Charleston, S.C. and 5 grandchildren.

FLINT, Paul
Paul G. Flint, 81, of Cross, a retired Sergeant Major with the U.S. Marine Corps, died Saturday at a Summerville hospital.
The graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Sunset Memorial cemetery, St. Stephen. Burial will be directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner.
Mr. Flint was born August 23, 1920 at Punta Gorda, Florida, a son of John H. Flint and Rubie Rasch Flint. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the 5th Marine Division Association (Iwo Jima). He was a former Oakland Club Conservation Enforcement Officer.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Leeper Flint of Cross; daughter, Paula Jean Flint of James Island; sister, Pauline Knight of Venice, Fla.; six nieces and nephews; many grand-nieces and nephews.

TILLER, Dorine
GEORGETOWN - Dorine Comp Tiller, 73, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, in a local Charleston hospital.
Mrs. Tiller was born in White City, Kan. on May 22, 1928, a daughter of the late John Howard Comp and Alice Marie Henry Comp. Mrs. Tiller grew up in Kansas and was a registered nurse and graduate of the nursing school at the University of Kansas.
Mrs. Tiller was an active communicant of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church and served her church as a member and past president of the Episcopal Church Women. She was a member of Winyah Chapter #3-064 of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a volunteer for Hospice of Georgetown County, Inc.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. George E. Tiller of Georgetown; a son, John H. Tiller of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Delma C. Boyer of Council Grove, Kan. and Myra C. Bouck of Laguna Woods, Calif.
She was predeceased by a son, George Edwin Tiller, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, May 1, 2002, at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul C. Fuener and the Rev. Dr. Michael G. Cole. Burial will follow in the Churchyard under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
The family will receive friends at the church parish hall immediately following the committal service.

Martha Timmons Harrison, 53, of North Charleston, wife of Pastor John David Harrison, passed away on Saturday afternoon in Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2002, at 2 o'clock in the Baptist Tabernacle Church, 3670 Ladson Road, Ladson, S.C. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Park, Charleston.
The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 9 o'clock, Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Harrison was born on June 24, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pa., a daughter of the late Robert B. Timmons, Jr., and Jessie L. Davis Timmons.
Mrs. Harrison graduated from Bob Jones Academy and Bob Jones University, as well as Greenville General School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in research, at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Mrs. Harrison was a faithful pastor's wife, having served with Pastor Harrison for over 25 years in churches in Georgia and South Carolina. She was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle Church.
Survived by, husband of North Charleston; son, Joel Harrison of North Charleston; brother, Robert Timmons of Isle of Palms; nephew, Scott Timmons of Fountain Inn; niece, Pamela Otto of Mt. Pleasant.
