Josephine Hare Wilkes, 91, of Charleston, SC entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 8, 2002. Josephine Hare Wilkes was the mother of Benjamin Wilkes, Jr. of Summerville, SC and Stephanie Wilkes Schott of Sidney Center, NY.
There will be no local services and a burial service will be held at a later date in Sidney Center, NY. The Wilkes family is being assisted by THE CREMATION CENTER OF CHARLESTON.

EUTAWVILLE - Mr. Hoover "Spot" Williams, 76, of 303 Gaillard St., Eutawville, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002 at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.
The funeral will be 11 AM Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002 at Corinth Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 10 AM.
Mr. Williams was born in Cross, SC a son of the late James L. Williams and Eliza Singletary Williams. He was a graduate of Providence High School and an Army veteran. He was a former employee of B.R. Bennett, and a retired fuel operator at the Charleston Air Force Base. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class. He was the widower of Thelma Gross Lindstedt Williams.
He is survived by a special friend, Inez C. Hutto of Eutawville; step-daughters, Billie Chewning of Holly Hill, Frances Reed of Orangeburg, and Libby Taylor of Aiken; step-son George W. Lindstedt, Jr. of Tifton, Ga.; sister, Beulah Grooms of Cross; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

CODESPOTI, Eula
Eula Lee Pellum Codespoti, 83, died Sunday, September 8, 2002, at a nursing home in North Charleston. Born November 4, 1918, in Ruffin, S.C., she was the daughter of Sidney and Rosa Pellum (nee Murdaugh) and was a graduate of Ruffin High School, Ruffin, S.C. She was a legal secretary for attorney Clyde Turner from 1961-1982. Mrs. Codespoti and her husband Peter Joseph Codespoti, who died in 1987, owned and operated Codespoti Real Estate for five years. An active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, she was instrumental in raising funds to build the new Church. She was also an avid member of the Avondale Civic Club and a strong supporter of the St. Andrew's Public Service District. Mrs. Codespoti was preceded in death by her son, Peter J. Codespoti, Jr., in 1998, and is survived by two sons, Daniel J. Codespoti and his wife Sandra, Spartanburg, and Sidney J. Codespoti and his wife, Melanie M., Charleston; two daughters, Angela Sue Merlino and her husband, Bartolo, Ravenel, and Mary E. "Dolly" Codespoti, Charleston; and six grandchildren, M. Lee Glaize, Melanie L. Glaize, Daniel J. Codespoti, Jr., William J. Codespoti, Olivia A. Codespoti, and Graham E. Codespoti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Tuesday, September 10, 2002, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Adnah Methodist Church cemetery, Islandton, S.C.
