CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Memorial Mass for Samuel Lewis Diggle, Jr., 91, formerly of 1136 Queens Rd., Charlotte, will be celebrated Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Final Commendation and Farewell Prayers will be Elmwood Memorial Gardens. DUNBAR FUNERAL HOME, DUTCH FORK CHAPEL, Irmo, S.C., is in charge. Mr. Diggle is survived by his sons: Samuel L. Diggle, III of Lake Murray, S.C. and Charles P. Diggle of Charleston, S.C. and Charles P. Diggle of Charleston, S.C.; sisters, Mrs. Louise Duncan of Largo, Fla. and Mrs. Loretto Lowry of Charlotte; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
WOOTEN, Pansy
Mrs. Pansy Dempsey Wooten, 56, of 4686 Browning Gate Rd. in Estill, died Friday at the Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, after an extended illness.
Born Feb. 25, 1946 in Hampton County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Dempsey and Thelma Freeman Dempsey. Mrs. Wooten was a former secretary at Patrick Henry Academy and was currently the accounting supervisor with Carsonite Industries. She had been very active with the Hampton County Relay for Life and was a member and Sunday School teacher at Nixville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Edison Wooten of the home; one son, Michael Edison Wooten of Smyrna, Ga.; one daughter, Vicki W. Long of Marietta, Ga.; 2 brothers, Fred Dempsey of Burton, S.C. and Aaron Dempsey of Port Royal, S.C.; 2 sisters, Valorie Griner of Early Branch, S.C. and Nadine Linderman of Denver, N.C. There are 3 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Nixville Baptist Church with burial following in the Nixville cemetery, directed by PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME of Hampton.
Friends may call at the chapel in Hampton from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday evening and Sunday morning prior to services.

Lillian Margaret Ramsey Secchi, 79, of Ladson, widow of Alfred William Secchi died Thursday in a local hospital.

Born on June 9, 1922 in Chelsea, Mass., a daughter of the late Peter Joseph Ramsey and Anna Catherine Galant Ramsey. She attended schools in Chelsea, Mass. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lynn, Mass.

SHILLINGLAW, Philip
Dr. Philip Ormand Shillinglaw, 74, of Summerville, formerly of St. Stephen, a retired Medical Doctor after practicing for 36 years in St. Stephen, died Thursday at a Summerville nursing home.
The graveside funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, at the Rose Hill cemetery, York, S.C. Burial will be directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner.
Dr. Shillinglaw was born November 25, 1927, at York, S.C., a son of Edward M. Shillinglaw and Margaret Ormand Shillinglaw. He was a U.S. Navy and Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Stephen Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. He was a member of the St. Stephen Lions Club, Alcohol and Drug Commission, South Carolina Medical Association, Berkeley Medical Association and the American Medical Association.
Surviving are his wife, Grace Steelman Shillinglaw of Moncks Corner; three sons, Tracy Shillinglaw of St. Stephen; John Mark Shillinglaw of Bonneau; Chris Shillinglaw of Moncks Corner; five daughters, Philma Cimorelli of Charleston, Jaime Bell of West Jefferson, N.C., Renee Conner of Dorchester, Paula Shillinglaw of Denver, N.C., Monique Smith of Cheraw; sister, Nell Norris of York, S.C.; 23 grandchildren.
