REDICK, Marelese
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of May 9, 2002, Marelese Scott Redick, widow of Willie Leo Redick. Residence, Folly Beach, S.C. Mrs. Redick was born August 18, 1918, in Summerville, S.C., the daughter of Russell Scott and Pearl Rhodes Scott. She was a member of the Salvation Army. She retired from Roper Hospital.
She is survived by seven sons, George Melvin Redick of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Willie Leo Redick, Jr., of James Island, S.C., Ronald Terry Redick of Folly Beach, S.C., Wayne Anthony Redick of Johns Island, S.C., Bruce Allen Redick of Charleston, S.C., Timothy Dale Redick of Charleston, S.C., Dennis Preston Redick of Charleston, S.C.; seven daughters, Jean Salerno of Long Island, N.Y., Joann Kearney of Long Island, N.Y., Frida Parish of Mt. Pleasant, Tenn., Linda Purvis of Savannah, Ga., Mary Redick of Ravenel, S.C., Donna Sauerbier of Goose Creek, S.C., and Bonnie Brooks of Manchester, Pa.; five sister, Beverly Driggers, Susie Bailey, Mary Lou Londergan, Barbara Grace Scott, all of Summerville, S.C., Betty Abdon of Maryland; one brother, Randy Scott of Summerville, S.C.; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

CACCAVELLA, Jeffrey

Mr. Caccavella was born in Doylestown, Pa., on March 26, 1979, the son of Pasquale N. Caccavella and Beth Suzanne Krisher Parks.
Surviving are his wife of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his father of Winston Salem, N.C.; his grandmother and mother, both of Charleston, S.C.; three step-children, Robin, Chris, and Tyler, all of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; half-brother, Nicholas Caccavella and half-sister, Marianna Caccavella both of Winston Salem, N.C.; step-father, Richard Parks of Charleston, S.C.; three step-brothers, Ashley, Sam, and Tyler all of Charleston, S.C.; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

POLK, Gwendolyn
HAMPTON - Mrs. Gwendolyn Kearse Polk, 79, of 506 Ellis St. in Hampton, died Thursday evening in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Born October 11, 1922 in Hampton County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Kearse and Maggie Bishop Kearse. Mrs. Polk was a homemaker and was a member of the Harmony Presbyterian Church in Crocketville. She was the widow of the late William E. Polk.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, William Gerald and Caryl C. Polk of Hampton; one sister, Lucille K. Hiers of Columbia; 2 grandchildren, Sheryl P. Wilson of Simpsonville and W.G. (Jerry) Polk of Walterboro; 4 great-grandchildren, Lauren Paige Wilson, Andrew Michael Wilson, Ashlyn Kate Polk and Brandon Tyler Polk. She was predeceased by one brother, Warren Kearse.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Harmony Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. Carolyn Matthews with burial following in the Crocketville cemetery, directed by PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME of Hampton.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home and Saturday until 12 noon when the casket will be placed in the church prior to services.
WILLIAMS, Drue
ALLENDALE - Miss Drue Williams died Thursday evening at University Hospital in Augusta after an extended illness. She was 81.
Miss Williams was born in Allendale County, July 4, 1920, a daughter of the late Norman Williams and Louise Locke Williams. Miss Williams retired from the Carolina Commercial Bank where she was Vice President and still serving on the Board of Directors. She was a member of the Allendale First Baptist Church where she was serving on the Budget Committee. Miss Williams also raised her four sisters after her parents passed away.
Surviving are 4 sisters: Mrs. Margaret Reece and Joyce Brewer both of Allendale. Mrs. Norma Lee Smith of Fairfax, Mrs. Helen Knopf of Jacksonville, Fla. There are 4 nephews and 2 nieces.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Allendale First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Swallow Savannah cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allendale First Baptist Church. LAKE CITY - Mr. Curtis B. Hancock, 71, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mrs. Varn was born July 6, 1952, in Charleston, S.C., the daughter of Wilbur Callie (Dusty) Varn and Helen Burgin Varn. She was a 1971 graduate of Middleton High School and attended the University of S.C. and received a B.A. in education at Charleston Southern University. Her love of children led her into her teaching career as a teacher's aid with Orange Grove Elementary and a teacher with Goodwin Elementary School. She enjoyed collecting antiques and spending time at the beach.
She is survived by her mother of Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Courtney Jennifer Rouse of Charleston, S.C., two sisters, Catherine V. Stamey and her husband T. Craig of Charleston, S.C., and Patricia V. Moose and her husband Brittain L. of Matthews, N.C.; one brother, Michael Stephen Varn of Charleston, S.C.; one brother-in-law, Gary Snyder; one niece, Nicole Snyder; three nephews, Adam Snyder, Bryce Moose and Tate Stamey. A daughter Ashley Varn Rouse and a sister, Cheri Snyder preceded her in death.
