FORTIN, Ernest
Ernest "Ernie" Fortin, II, 38, of Charleston and husband of Kathleen Davis Fortin, died Saturday, November 9, 2002 at a local hospital. Mr. Fortin was born Tuesday, May 26, 1964 in Providence, RI. A graduate of Falmouth High School in Falmouth, MA and Boston College. He was actively serving in the US Naval Reserve and he also served his country in Desert Storm. Mr. Fortin was a Group Specialist with New England Financial. Mr. Fortin is survived by his wife, Kathy, his mother, Elaine Burkly, his father, Bernard L. Fortin, two daughters; Emily Fortin and Elizabeth Fortin, a son, Andrew Fortin, all of Charleston; three sisters, Michele Hardy of New Orleans, LA, Colette Martin of Poughkeepsie, NY and Andree Santini of Easton, PA. Mrs. Mullins was born January 12, 1930, in Walterboro, SC, daughter of David Wiley and Alice Juanita Barfield Bishop. She was a charter member of Ft. Johnson Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years; two daughters, Janet M. Ellmers of James Island and Alice M. Craven of Bonneau, SC; son, George Mullins of Barberton, OH; two sisters, Corliss Kontoulas of Greensboro, NC and Dorothy Salisbury of Charleston, SC; brother, Paul David Bishop of Summerville, SC; nine grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

ORANGEBURG - Marvin Eugene McKever, 73, of 1390 Brentwood Drive, died suddenly at his home on Saturday morning, November 9, 2002.
Graveside service will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at 1 PM in Jerusalem United Methodist Church cemetery, Rev. Ray Anderson, officiating. Burial to follow, directed by FOGLE-HUNGERPILLER FUNERAL HOME in Elloree. Pallbearers will be Lewis Ballentine, O.D. Hayden, Olan Hayden, Glynn Nelson, Bill Carson, LaVerne Smoak.
Mr. McKever was born in Fitzgerald, GA on October 23, 1929, a son of the late Noreen Potts Driggers. He was a member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church. He retired from Triangle Tool as a printing equipment operator.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Sue K. McKever of the home; 1 son, Stephen McKever and wife, Eula Jean, Summerton; 2 grandsons, Darren Michael Dustin McKever and Brandon Mitchell McKever of Summerton, SC. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Hayden McKever, and 2 sons, Darren Wayne McKever and Michael Eugene McKever.

SANTEE - Officer Russell (Rusty) Leverne Wiles, Jr., 28, of Santee, SC died Saturday as a result of a head-on collision at Flea Bite Creek near Cameron, SC.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 11, 2002 in the Fellowship Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Rev. John Salazar, Pastor. Casket will be placed in church at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday. Burial will be in Hungerpiller Family cemetery, Elloree, SC directed by FOGLE-HUNGERPILLAR FUNERAL HOME. Pallbearers will be Robin Platt, Billy Armstrong, Todd Troutman, Donnie Sweatman, Billy Browning, Roy Givens and Kase Chamberlain.
Mr. Wiles was born in Orangeburg County, a son of Russell L. Wiles, Sr. and Kay Bordurant Wiles of Elloree. He was a graduate of Elloree High School and the S.C. Police Academy. He was a Lieutenant with the Elloree Police Dept. and had worked in law enforcement for 7 years. He was a member of the SC Law Enforcement Association, a member of the Elloree Fire Dept., and was attending USC in Columbia. He attended Fellowship Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Christie D. Jackson Wiles of Columbia, SC; 1 daughter, Meadow Lynn Wiles of Columbia; his parents of Elloree; 1 brother, Daniel Wiles of Elloree; 1 sister, Kim Wiles, Jacksonville, FL.
