Mrs. Burton was born July 16, 1909, in Midgeville, GA, daughter of John Coulter and Victoria Council Reeves. She was a graduate of Memminger High School and a member of Asbury - St. James United Methodist Church. She worked with Charleston Playground Department and Registration Board.
She is survived by her daughter, Roberta C. Burton and son, William "Billy" H. Burton, Jr., both of James Island, SC; nephews, Thomas (Tom) Reeves and Thomasine McCarthy (Mike) of James Island, SC; and nieces, Victoria "Vickie" Ruotalo (Nick) of Cincinnati, OH, Rebecca "Becky" Halpin (Harry) of Cary, NC, and Josephine "Josey" Wagenfeilen (Nick) of Delray Beach, FL.
She was predeceased by her son, US Air Force retired Captain, Francis A. Burton; daughter-in-law, Billie Eppler Burton; grandson, Marc Bauer, and granddaughter, Rebecca F. Burton.

WILTSIE, LeRoy
LeRoy Alan Wiltsie, 63, of Cottageville, SC, husband of Edith "June" Brown Wiltsie, died Friday, November 8, 2002 at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday afternoon, November 12, 2002 at Parks Funeral Home Chapel at 2 o'clock. Burial will be private.
Mr. Wiltsie was born September 20, 1939 in Jamestown, New York, a son of James P. Wiltsie and Cora Phillips Wiltsie. He was a truck driver and a member of the V.F.W. and the Auburn (NY) Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife, Edith "June" Brown Wiltsie of Cottageville; two sons, David Alan Wiltsie of Lancaster, SC and Michael Edward Wiltsie of Florida; two daughters, Penny Lynn White of Plainfield, CT and Elizabeth Ann Durbin of Cottageville; two brothers, James Wiltsie of Kennedy, NY and Robert Wiltsie of Tauares, FL; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Martha Elizabeth Mincy Taylor, 82, widow of James Oliver Jelks Taylor, of Summerville, SC died Saturday, November 9, 2002 at a local hospital.

Virginia Lee Anderson of Hollywood, SC passed away at her home Saturday, November 9, 2002. Virginia was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on Sunday, December 7, 1930. She was a retired nurse and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Blessed Sacrament Women's Guild. Surviving are her husband, John A. Anderson and two daughters: Lee Anderson Baldwin of Green Pond, SC and Evelyn Anderson Shaw of Summerville, SC. Mrs. Davis was born in Felton, Georgia November 1, 1919, a daughter of the late George W. and Anistine Bradley Addison. Mrs. Davis was a charter member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church, the Boone Bowen Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women of the church, a member of the Frances Major Circle and had served as a Children's Sunday School Class Teacher, a communion steward and a coordinator of the senior citizens at the church.
Among her other interests, Mrs. Davis enjoyed traveling very much and was a member of the Sandhurst Garden Club.
Surviving are her son: Larry C. Davis and wife Rosemary of North Charleston, SC; her daughter, Judy Davis Hagen and husband Henry of Summerville, SC; her grandchildren: Amie and Chris Floyd, Dale Chapin, Margie and John Barham, Helen and Dr. John Britton, great-grandchildren: Christopher Floyd, Brittany Floyd and Jack Britton.
BRIDGE, Kermit
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of November 7, 2002, Kermit W. Bridge, 88, widower of Margaret Effie Jordan Bridge. Residence, White Rock, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at 11 o'clock at the graveside in Bethany cemetery.
Mr. Bridge was born March 27, 1914 in Round O, South Carolina, the son of Shuler William Bridge and Viola Brownlee Bridge. He retired in 1972 from Federal Civil Service at the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a Master Machinist. He served with the US Navy during the Korean War in 1950 - 1951. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. He belonged to Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of SC in Goose Creek and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
Mr. Bridge was a gentle, loving man who treasured his friends and family above possessions. A lifelong gardener who delighted in presenting the Earth's bounty to those he loved. He was a friend who could be counted on; a father who was always there. A man of principle, compassion, and integrity whose friends came from all professions, races, and creeds. For many of us, he was a role model few of us could only hope to emulate.
He is survived by two sons: Leon K. Bridge of Vancouver, Washington and Karl H. Bridge of White Rock, SC; one sister, Reba B. Cammer of Charleston, SC; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

CARDEN, Mary

Mrs. Carden was born in Menglewood, Tennessee on June 1, 1919, the daughter of the late Jacob Grashot and Pearl Nolan Grashot. She was a retired supervisor at The Charleston Naval Polaris Missile Base. Mrs. Carden was a member of the Submarine Veterans Auxiliary of WWII and Fleet Reserve Auxiliary Branch #50.
Surviving are one daughter, Janice Kight of Goose Creek, SC; one son, Olie L. Carden, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four grandchildren: Nathan Kight of Dallas, Texas, Adrienne Carden of Hanahan, SC; Jamie L. Carden of Spartanburg, SC and Olie L. Carden, III of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a sister-in-law, Wynettia Carden of Vernon, Alabama; a brother-in-law, Gollie Carden of Sulligent, Alabama; and one sister in heart, Joan Thackett.

RUFF, Jack

Mr. Ruff was born March 31, 1930 in Charleston, SC, the son of Paul Edward Ruff and Blanche Elizabeth Walters Ruff. He was a retired clerk with the Water Front Association. He served in the Army, 2nd Armored Division. He was a member of the American Legion Post #147 and the International Long Shoremans Association. He attended the Methodist church. Mr. Ruff graduated from the Charleston High School.
Surviving are one step son, Larry M. Branham and his wife, Jeanine W. of Charleston, SC; one brother, Walter Edward Ruff of North Charleston, SC; two grandchildren: Jennie W. Branham and Jasmine Leah Lott. He also leaves behind five nieces and two nephews, Mr. Ruff was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelyn Branham Ruff.
