Rosa Nell Resse, 87, of Summerville, SC, died Monday, October 14, 2002 at home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 2 o'clock at Broyles-McGuire Funeral Home in Union, WV with Pastor Harold Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Carmel cemetery at Gap Mills, WV. Family will receive friends this Friday from 6 - 8 o'clock at Broyles-McGuire Funeral Home.

CAMDEN - Graveside services for Lucielle Landrum Fields will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 2:00 PM in Quaker cemetery. Dr. William Summers will officiate. Mrs. Lucielle Fields, 81, of Camden, widow of Luther B. Fields, died Thursday, October 17, 2002 at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville, NC. Born in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Mamie Wolfe and Leander Landrum. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother with an exceptional sense of humor and an inspiration to everyone that knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law; Hugh A. Fields and Eleanor Calhoun Fields of Linville, NC, grandchildren; Sarah Clay Fields of Charlotte, NC and Lawson Andrew Fields of Linville, NC, sister; Lillian L. Perkins of Charleston; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Dorothy L. Pratt, Katherine Tovey, Ruth Landrum, brothers, Cecil Landrum and Lee Landrum, all of Charleston.
MCCORMACK, John
Major John Noll McCormack, retired USAF, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died on October 15, 2002 at 5:30 AM after a long illness. He was 71 years old. He is survived by his wife Karin A. McCormack, and their three children, Conner, Molly and Casey of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He is also survived by his children, John D. McCormack of Portsmouth, NH, Karen N. McCormack of Newmarket, NH, and Kristen A, McCormack of San Francisco, CA, and their mother, Diane M. McCormack, of New Castle, NH. An avid sailboat racer, John was well known in the sailing communities of Charleston, SC, Marco Island, FL, and Portsmouth, NH. He will be missed by many. Private funeral services will be held in Mt. Pleasant on Monday, October 21. The family will receive visitors at their home that evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Wakes will also be held in Marco Island, FL and Portsmouth, NH. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery, Poughkeesie, NY, his childhood home. KENNEDY, Dorothy
Dorothy Joan Kennedy, 83, of Charleston, widow of Brig. Gen. Thomas Kennedy, died Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at her residence. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho to the late Edwin Milton and Gertrude Murphy Calloway. She lived on many bases around the world and volunteered for thirty years as editor of publications and writer and producer of many fund raising variety shows. When Brig. Gen. Kennedy was assigned as Wing Commander of Charleston Air Force Base in 1972, she became involved in many local and base activities. After retirement, the Kennedys claimed Charleston as their last station. She was a past president of the Charleston Symphony Women's Association, the Charleston Dance Theater, corresponding secretary for the Rotary Club of Charleston and the Garden Club of Charleston. BISHOP, Marshall
ISLANDTON - Mr. Marshall Lee Bishop, 68, of 316 Forks Road, died Thursday at Roper Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 19, 2002 at the chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Peniel Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Bishop was born in Colleton County, a son of the late Deny Lee Bishop and Zula Nettles Bishop. He was a member of Peniel Baptist Church and attended Sandy Run Baptist Church in Hampton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Mary Jean McAlhaney Bishop, sisters, Lynn Jarrell of Estill and Mazie Bishop of Islandton, and six nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Rosamae B. Nettles.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Friday at the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.

Mrs. Hallman was born in Walterboro, S.C., May 22, 1932, the daughter of Gruber H. Breland. She was a retired preschool teacher at Ashley River Baptist Church. She was a member of Pierpont Baptist Church.
Surviving are three brothers, G. Herbert Breland of North Charleston, S.C., Charles J. Breland of Cottageville, S.C., and Bernard H. Breland of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, D. Michael Hallman of Houston, Texas, and Mark W. Hallman of Belfair, Wash.; four daughters, Michele L. Rathke of Charleston, S.C., Phyllis M. Lowery of Port Orchard, Wash., Janice Hallman Couch of Bainbridge Island, Wash., and Sheryl M. Ransom of Charleston, S.C.; and a loved grandma of 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
