SCHMITT, Henry
Henry Marcy Schmitt, 86, of Mount Pleasant, SC, formerly of Florham Park, NJ, died Monday, August 26, 2002, in the Sandpiper Convalescent Center, Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Born in New Rochelle, NY, he was a graduate of Fordham University. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force during World War II as a Captain and was stationed in India where he was in charge of USO Special Services. During this time, he met and married
Joan, his first wife, who predeceased him.
Mr. Schmitt was a Sales Representative for Allied Chemical Corporation (Honeywell) in NJ for 30 years. He met and married
Marie, retired and moved to Mt. Pleasant. There, he volunteered at East Cooper Medical Center and served "Meals on Wheels" to local shut-ins.
Surviving are his second wife, Marie; daughters, Marilyn Geffken, Karen Noble, and Linda Shoemaker; sons, Michael Schmitt, Charles Collins, and Scott Collins; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Mr. Schmitt was a member of Christ our King Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, August 29, 2002, in Christ our King Catholic Church. JONES, Johnny
Johnny Lee Jones, 42, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 26, 2002, at a local hospital from injuries sustained in an accident. Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of Evelyn Houck Jones and the late William A. Jones, Sr. He was a graduate of James Island High School and Trident Technical College. Mr. Jones was a member and Deacon of Citadel Square Baptist Church and had retired from Charleston Naval Shipyard Instrument Shop. He was a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineer Society. Besides his mother, Mr. Jones is survived by his beloved wife Deborah (Debbie) McLemore Jones; two daughters, Janie L. Jones and Danielle L. Jones; one son, Johnny L. Jones, II, all of James Island, SC; one sister, Katrina Lynn Gauthier of John's Island, SC; his mother-in-law, Edith McLemore, Joe and Sharon McLemore of James Island, SC; David and Lindie Grimball of John's Island, SC; four nephews, Jeff Smith, Greg Smith, Cameron McLemore, and Kevin Grimball. He was predeceased by his father; and two brothers, William A. Jones, Jr. and Danny Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at Citadel Square Baptist Church at 1 PM. Interment will be private. Ms. Poe is survived by two sons, Kenneth W. Poe of N. Charleston and Daniel L. Evans of Charleston; a brother, Robert Fennessy of Folly Beach; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A son, Thomas Evans predeceased Ms. Poe.

DILLON, Tom
Tom Dillon, 60, of Ocala, Fla., died Saturday, August 24, 2002, at his residence.
Born in Sardis, Ky., Mr. Dillon, moved from California to Ocala, Fla., in 1985. He was Methodist by faith and was recently an administrative assistant in golf course development. Mr. Dillon was also a member of the U.S. Air Force.
A memorial gathering for Mr. Dillon will be held Friday, August 30, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Country Club at Silver Springs Shores.
Survivors include, wife, Nancy Dillon, Ocala, Fla., step-daughter, Tina Carson, Warsaw, Ind., son, Millard T. Dillon, Jr., Lexington, Ky., step-son, Gail O'Hara, Warsaw, Ind., three sisters, Virginia Wright of Kentucky, Judy Peltier of Ohio, and Muzetta Norris of Kentucky; three brothers, John W.
