COOK, Rachel
FAIRFAX, SC - Mrs. Rachel Blanche Cook, 74, of Fairfax, died early Thursday morning in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Cook was born in Hampton County, February 25, 1928, a daughter of the late J.C. and Annie Viola Priester Mosley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hampton Church of God. She was the widow of the late Johnnie Cook.
Surviving are four daughters, Pat Garvin of Beaufort, Jean Ray of Barnwell, Lois Crapse of Fairfax and Joyce Crapse of Brunson; two sons, Ellis Pete Cook of Fairfax and Johnny Frank Cook of Hiltonia, Ga.; five brothers, Brantley, Willie James, and James Archie Mosley, all of Hampton, Thomas Mosley of New Orleans, La., and Harold Mosley of Eastern, Pa.; four sisters, Anna Ruth Caddell and Mary Tuten both of Moncks Corner, Dorothy Nettles of Hampton, and Myrtle Ann Youmans of Panama City, Fla. There are 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased in death by two grandchildren, one brother, and a sister.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, in the Chapel of PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME IN HAMPTON, conducted by Rev. Mack Willis, Rev. Michael Coward, and Rev. Jay Brunson, with burial in the Sandy Run cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel in Hampton from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, and Saturday until the hour of services.

Ms. Peterson was born November 1, 1945, in Morristown, N.J., the daughter of Jerome Moskowitz and Sylvia Weinstein Moskowitz.
She is survived by two daughters, Brandy Peterson of Holly Hill, S.C., and Stacey Peterson of Holly Hill, S.C.; two brothers, Gary Moskowitz of Princeton, N.J., and Richard Moskowitz of N.J.; one grandchild, Trevon Reid of Holly Hill, S.C.

COLUMBIA - Mrs. Ida Sue Powlas, 69 years of age, of 6530 Davidson Road, Apt. 14, died Wednesday, August 21, 2002, at the Lexington Medical Center.
Mrs. Powlas was born in Branchville, a daughter of the late Walter L. McAlhany, and Ola Mae McAlhany. She was the widow of the late Johnny Powlas and was a member of the Lower Richland Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2002, 10 a.m., at the OTT FUNERAL HOME IN BRANCHVILLE. Mr. Fred England will be officiating. Burial will be in the McAlhany cemetery near Branchville.
Survived by two sons, Mr. J. David Powlas of Columbia, and Mr. Charlie D. Powlas of Aiken, two brothers, Mr. John McAlhaney of Reevesville, and Mr. Claude McAlhany of Branchville, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Crawford of St. George, an Mrs. Alice Summers of Branchville, two grandchildren, April and Joshua Powlas, a special friend, Mrs. Thomasina England of Gaston, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Mike Matthews, Les Thompson, Dick Johnson, Bob Horton, David Earnhart, and Dewain McMullin.
Family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ott Funeral Home.
