GREENSBORO - Verne Deloss Sebastian, 95 died August 21, 2002 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Sebastian will be held Saturday, August 24, 2 p.m., in the chapel of First Baptist Church in Greensboro with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Massey officiating. He will be buried beside his wife Edith and daughter Ann in Westminster Gardens.
He is survived by his sons, Jack Preston Sebastian of Browns Summit, NC and Richard Verne Sebastian of Cincinnati, OH; one brother Charles Byerly Sebastian of Carrboro, NC; three sisters, Mrs. Ronda S. Locke of Chapel Hill, NC, Mrs. Hazel S. Yow of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Mrs. Bettye S. Wise of Conway, SC; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Sebastian will be held Friday evening at the funeral home from 7-9 PM. Surviving are his wife of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one son, Scott Peckenpaugh of Chicago, Illinois; three daughters, Jill Peckenpaugh of Boston, Massachusetts, Janis Peckenpaugh of Phoenix, Arizona, and Stephanie Graham of Wilmette, Illinois, one brother, Don Peckenpaugh of Palos Hills, Illinois, and two grandchildren.

Bobbie Ann Whittington Denig, 63, of Mount Pleasant, SC, wife of William Denig died Wednesday, August 21, 2002 in a local hospital. Mrs. Denig was born in Marion, SC, daughter of Sherwood Martin and Annie Jane Whittington Martin. She worked for A-Creative Cut as a Cosmetologist. She enjoyed rose gardening, sewing, country music, bird watching, fishing, cooking and cosmetology.
Surviving are her husband of Mount Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Wanda Merkle of Richmond, VA, Kathy Woods of Mechanicsville, VA, two sons, Rodney Arnette of Mount Pleasant, SC; and Dennis Arnette of Kannapolis, NC, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one sister, Betty O’Loughlin of Springfield, VA; and one niece, Lisa O’Loughlin of Chantilly, VA.

Meta Kramer Cole, 80, of Bonneau, S.C., died August 21, at the home of her daughter in Tampa, Fla. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol Blackburn Overman and Robert Overman of Tampa, Fla.; three grandsons, Christopher Keith, Kevin Thomas and Gregory Joseph; three great-grandsons, Brett Joseph, Cole Patrick and Jake Ryan, all of Tampa, Fla.; four step-children and many step-grandchildren, Mrs. Cole was born in Savannah, Ga., a daughter of Frank A. Kramer and Julia Murphy Kramer. She was a widow of Irvin R. Cole. She was a Civil Service employee, retired from Charleston Air Force Base. She was a member of the Bonneau Beach Civic Club and Garden Club. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Bonneau, with Father Ernest Kennedy officiating. Mrs. Harmon died Thursday, August 22, 2002. Born in Charleston, SC, she was a daughter of the late Larnard Smoak and Cora Leone Pollard Smoak. She retired from the US Soil and Water Conservation District and was an editor for the Fort Jackson Leader Newspaper.
Surviving are her husband, Clay E. Harmon; son, Charles Franklin Rose of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Marcia Rose Culp of Columbia; and four grandchildren, Brittany Lakes, Jonathan Lakes, Amanda Giannattasio, and Rebecca Harmon.

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of August 20, 2002, in Clearwater, Florida, Jeanette MacLeod Horres, widow of John Jacob Horres, III. Residence, John's Island, SC. Mrs. Horres was born September 5, 1918 in Savannah, Georgia, the daughter of James Alexander MacLeod and Maude Isabel Robert. She was a 1938 graduate of Armstrong College, Savannah, GA. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, the Episcopal Church Women and the Magnolia Garden Club.
She is survived by one son: Dr. John J. Horres, IV and his wife Elizabeth of Charleston, SC; three daughters, Louise H. Ojeda and her husband Orlando of Clearwater, FL, Joan H. Shepherd and her husband Clyde, Jr. of Suwanee, Georgia, Jennifer H. McCall and her husband Ray of Clifton, Colorado; two brothers, Charles A. MacLeod of Manassas, Virginia, Robert M.
