Brenda Diane Lewis, 49, of Goose Creek died Tuesday, August 20, 2002, in a local hospital.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 23, 2002, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
Born March 29, 1953, in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Leon H. Osborne and Mazell B. Browder.
Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist.
She is survived by her husband, John E. Lewis of Goose Creek; a son and daughter-in-law, John E. and Valerie Lewis of Goose Creek; four brothers, Carl Osborne of Huger, Leon H. Osborne, Jr. of Summerville, Willie J. Osborne of North Charleston, Tony R. Osborne of North Charleston, Harry R. Osborne of Hanahan; four grandchildren, Brandon, Gary, Jessica, and Colby.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 22, 2002, 6 - 8 PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston.

CURRIE, III, Archie
HOLLY HILL - Archie Calvin Cal Currie, III, 44, of 1220 Bennett Circle, Holly Hill, died Tuesday in a Columbia hospital.
Funeral Services will be 2 PM Friday, August 23, 2002 in the Holly Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Phillips, Sr., Rev. Albert Cox, and Mr. Michael Gaskins officiating. The casket will be placed in the church at 1PM. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill cemetery.
Mr. Currie was born in Orangeburg, SC a son of Faye Kinsey Currie Fritts and the late Archie Calvin Currie, Jr. He attended Anderson Junior College. He was a graduate of the College of Charleston and the Medical University of SC. He was a pharmacist at CVS. He was a state constable, and member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a member MUSC Alumni Association, and was a member of Holly Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his mother and step-father, Faye Currie Fritts and Larry Fritts of Holly Hill; brother, Barry Laughlin Currie of Moncks Corner; sister Allyson Dawn Currie Geer of Goose Creek; paternal grandmother, Essie Parler of Harleyville; aunts, Margaret Ann King of Harleyville, Zonell Carroll of Gaston, Sue Lucas of Columbia, and Elise White of Miami, Fla.; uncles, Johnell Kinsey of Charlotte, and James Grooms of Goose Creek.

Mr. Cooke was born in Aynor, S.C., April 12, 1926, to the late Ida Cooke. Mr. Cooke served in both the U.S. Army during W.W.II and in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Cooke was the co-owner and operator of North Area Repair as well as a member of Low Country Freewill Baptist Church, a member of Dorchester Lodge #396 A.F.M., Omar Temple Shrine and the Scottish Rite.
Surviving Mr. Cooke in addition to his wife are his sons and daughters, Larry D. Cooke of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Jerry R. Cooke of Goose Creek, S.C., Stephen M. Cowart of Ladson, S.C., Timothy E. Cowart of North Charleston, S.C., Ida Lee Holt and Donna C. Tindal both of Conway, S.C., also included are his three sisters, Estelene Graham and Leona "Billie" Jenkins both of Aynor, S.C., and Credele Robinson of Garden City, S.C., eight grandchildren, Amanda Bond, Joseph Hutchinson, Josh Tindal, Lee Graham, Mallory Cowart, Logan Singleton, Heather Cowart and Jason Cowart. Mr. Cooke was preceded in death by his brother, Junior Cooke.

Mary Edgar Calcote, a resident of the Presbyterian Home in Summerville, SC, died on August 18, 2002. A native of Richmond, Va., she was preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Alice Edgar and her husband, Rev. Mr. C. I. Calcote. She is survived by her son, Dr. C.E. Calcote and his wife, Frances; four grandchildren, F. Edgar Calcote, Dr. Robert D. Calcote, Thomas D. Calcote and Catherine Calcote Fischer of Charlotte; seven great grandchildren and a sister, Margaret Edgar Knight of Richmond, Va. Interment will be in the family plot at Forest Lawn cemetery in Richmond, Va. DWYER, Arthur
Arthur (Red) George Dwyer of Ridgeland, S.C., 87, died Tuesday, August 20, 2002, at a Charleston hospital after a short illness.
Born April 20, 1915, in Worchester, Mass., Mr. Dwyer was the son of the late John L. Dwyer and the late Edith Davidson Dwyer.
Mr. Dwyer was a former professional baseball player and team owner; former General Manager of Charlotte Hornets; member Sally League Hall of Fame; scout for the Minnesota Twins; former owner of Whitener-Dwyer Lumber Co.; and was associated with Lemon Island Seafood Co. since retiring. He was also a member of the American Masonic Lodge #98; member of Omar Shrine Temple in Charleston, S.C., and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Ridgeland, S.C. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Dwyer was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Whitener Dwyer.
Survivors include, son, Michael G. Dwyer of St. Petersburg, Fla., three brothers, William G. Dwyer of Framingham, Miss., Ralph E. Dwyer of Worchester, Miss., and Robert F. Dwyer of Klamath Falls, Ore.; two sisters, Ann Hambuechen of St. Louis, Mo., and Edith M. Davidson of Worchester, Mass.; two grandchildren, Mike Dwyer, Jr., and Tiffany Crosby of Ridgeland, S.C., and two great-grandchildren, Kathryn Crosby and Wyatt Crosby of Ridgeland, S.C.
Funeral services will be at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Ridgeland, S.C., Thursday, August 22, 2002, at 10 a.m. Burial in Rosemont cemetery, Newberry, S.C. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 21, 2002, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Stephanie Jones, 38, of Ladson, died Saturday, August 17, 2002 at her residence. She was born October 15, 1963 in Charleston, SC. Stephanie was the Branch Administrator for Neff Rental in North Charleston. Her father, Kenneth Webster, preceded her in death.
