Judith Marie Martin, 60, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died Friday, August 16, 2002 in a local hospital. Mrs. Martin was born in La Porte, IN, a daughter of George Hill and Hazel Riley. She graduated from Rolling Prairie Indiana High School, Class of 1960.
Surviving are her husband of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her mother of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sons, Todd Allen Martin of Kenly, NC; Stacy Lee Martin of Mount Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Joeylyne Marie Phillips of North Charleston, SC, Kelye Dyan Wallace of Syracuse, Indiana; one brother, George Hill, Jr. of La Porte, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Eric Martin, Anthony Martin, Kristen Pizzino, Hannah Vavryshko, Danyl Wallace, Erin Wallace, and Dylan Wallace.

Retired Marine Corps Chief Warrant Officer Robert William Lucht, 86, and former Director of Laundry Operations at the Citadel, husband of Dorothy E. Lucht died Friday, August 16, at a local hospital. Born in Chicago, Ill., to the late William and Margaret Spellan Lucht. CWO Lucht was a veteran of W.W.II and the Korean War. He was a life member of the 1st Marine Division Association, American Legion Post #10, Retired Officers Association, and the Hibernian Society, and the Elks Lodge #242. He was predeceased by two of his daughters, Eileen Hope Lucht, and Margaret Ellen Brady. Surviving Mr. Lucht is his wife, Dorothy E. Lucht of Charleston, two daughters, Joanne Marie Lucht of Jacksonville, N.C., Jeannette Duggan of Gaithersburg, Md., two sons, Thomas Lucht of Columbia, and Robert Lucht of Charleston, two sisters, Dorothy Barnhart, and Virginia Grossmas both of Chicago, Ill., also six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Monday, August 19, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Holly Cross cemetery with full military honors. STAGGS, Doris
KINGSTREE, SC - Mrs. Doris Virginia Carroll Staggs, 89, widow of Charles Roy Staggs, died Saturday in a Florence nursing home.
Mrs. Staggs was born in Portsmouth, VA, a daughter of the late Jacob Benjamin and Maude Whitehurst Carroll. She attended Hendersonville, NC schools and was employed for 30 years at Radio Station WDKD in Kingstree. Mrs. Staggs was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, where she served on the Binder Staff. She was a hospital volunteer for 11 years and a member of the Golden Years Club.
Surviving are: two daughters, Carroll S. (George) Hammet of Kingstree, Lorraine S. Gordon of Ft. Mill; one son, Charles Roy (Mary) Staggs, Jr., of Sumter; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM in Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Williamsburg cemetery, directed by WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the Church at 1 PM Sunday until the hour of service.

Mrs. Lewis was born August 6, 1914, in Columbus, GA, a daughter of Walter J. Branton and Sally Crawford Branton. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She is the widow of Jabis H. Lewis.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Spivey and Tony Spivey, both of Charleston, SC; three brothers, James Wright, Durwood Wright, Curtis Wright, all of Lynchburg, VA; three sisters, Lenwood Short, Hallie Wright, Bobbie Garrett, all of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren, Jennifer Spivey, Jason Spivey, Abbey Spivey, Krista Willis, all of Charleston, SC; two great-grandchildren, Brice Willis and Shelby Willis.
