WILLIAMSON, Henry
KINGSTREE, SC - Mr. Henry Caulder Williamson, 68, died Friday in a Charleston hospital.
Mr. Williamson was born July 14, 1934, a son of the late Hoyt Stephen Williamson and Bertie Caulder Williamson. He attended Kingstree High School and the University of Georgia. He was a retired farmer, having worked with Kingstree Production Credit and was the co-owner of Tri-County Tractor Co. in Kingstree. Mr. Williamson served in France and England during the Korean War and was a retired Master Sergeant in the Air Force reserves. He was a past commander of American Legion Post 8 and past Commander of the V.F.W. He retired from the Board of Directors of Williamsburg Academy after serving 15 years as treasurer. He was a former scoutmaster and former director of Williamsburg First National Bank. Mr. Williamson was a member of Kingstree First Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, former Sunday School Secretary, and had served on various committees.
Surviving, his wife, Doris McClary Williamson, sons and daughters-in-law, Louis Henry (Hank) and Beth A. Williamson of Salters, Dickey Brown and Michelle G. Williamson, of Kingstree, and Walter James and Carole S. Williamson of Kingstree; grandchildren, Will and Anne Williamson of Kingstree and Ashley Jarrett and Lizzie Williamson of Salters; brothers, N. Aubrey Williamson, Alva S. Williamson and Joe Williamson of Kingstree and Roland C. Williamson of Atlanta, Ga. He was preceded in death by a brother, H. Laverne Williamson.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m., Sunday, in the Kingstree First Baptist Church, with burial in Williamson cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or Williamson cemetery.

TAYLOR, JR., Ralph
Ralph Fuller Taylor, Jr., 85, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., died August 14, 2002, in a local hospital. Born August 2, 2002, in Bellwood, Pa., he was the son of Ralph Fuller Taylor and Lillian Wagner Taylor. A graduate of Penn State University, he served as a Commander in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during W.W.II from 1942 to 1946, and also from 1950 to 1958. A consultant in research and development, Mr. Taylor was an executive with Bolt, Branch, and Newmon, Cambridge, Mass., from 1964-1978, GTE, Waltham, Mass.; 1958-1964; and the VA Administration 1946-1950; president of the Kiwanis Club, a member of the Isle of Palms Exchange Club, and the Isle of Palms Methodist Men's Club, and was also a member of the Isle of Palms Methodist Church. Predeceased by his wife, Francine Wesley Taylor, he is survived by one son, Todd Wesley Taylor, Mt. Pleasant, and one daughter, Elizabeth Anne Fitzsimon of Dublin, Ireland. BENSON, JR., Earl
A devoted husband, father and grandfather who practiced law in Atlanta for over 30 years, Earl Bennett Benson, Jr. (Buck), 57, died quietly Wednesday at his home in Ellijay, Ga.
Mr. Benson practiced in Ellijay, Ga., and was of counsel to Wilson and Epstein, LLC of Atlanta, Ga. He was a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Association of Georgia Educators and was a member of the PAGE Network of Attorneys.
Mr. Benson lectured on ethics, professional standards, AIDS in the workplace, EEOC issues and other Employment Law issues. He authored articles for legal publications including the "Mercer Law Review."
As a third party neutral, Buck was on arbitration and mediation panels of Resolution Resources Corporation and Resolute Systems, Inc. He served as a mediator and arbitrator in employment discrimination, business disputes, negligence, domestic relations, workers' compensation disputes, and other cases. He lectured frequently on alternative dispute resolution issues and practice.
In community life, Mr. Benson was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, a Scout Leader (Troup 402 of Ellijay) and a member of Rotary.
Mr. Benson received his undergraduate degree from the Citadel and a Master of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Georgia. He earned his law degree from Mercer University, where he served as Student Writing Editor of the "Mercer Law Review." Buck joined Wilson Strickland and Benson after completing a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Albert J. Henderson, Jr., United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of Georgia. After 28 years with his Atlanta firm he opened his practice in Ellijay, Ga. He maintained an office in Atlanta.
Mr. Benson was born in Portland, Ore., on May 29, 1945. He was the son of Dr. Earl B. Benson of Clayton, Ga., and Mrs. Bette C. Benson of Marietta, Ga.
A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Joanne Atkinson Benson. Children, Jessica J. Benson and Taylor A. Benson, step-children, William R. Atkinson, III, and Steffanie Atkinson Magnus and grandson Wayne Stanfield "Flipper" Magnus.
Brothers and sisters, Sally Wallace and her husband Bill of Charleston, S.C., Danny Benson and his wife Jackie of Kennesaw, Peggy Sue Benson of Marietta, and Scott W. Benson of Atlanta as well as nieces and nephews.
He was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Benson, Sr. (deceased) and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Crutchfield of Marietta (deceased).
Services will be held Monday, August 19, at 2 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, 189 Church Street, Marietta, Ga.

HASELL, Ann S.
Ann Simmons Hasell, 86, of Charleston, S.C., died August 13, 2002. She was born October 5, 1915.
Graveside services for family and close friends will be held August 24, 2002, at 10 a.m., at Magnolia cemetery, Charleston, S.C., Bishop Buchanan officiating.
Miss Hasell was a member of the Huguenot Church and St. Michael's Episcopal Church. She was a member of South Carolina Chapter of Colonial Dames, Huguenot Society of South Carolina, and the Junior League of Charleston.
Survivors include a sister, Jane Martin of Pennsylvania; brother, Sam Hasell of Virginia; one nephew and four nieces.

COTTAGEVILLE, SC - Mr. Glen Eugene Blair, 44, of 4664 Running Creek Lane, died Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday at the Chapel of the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME. Interment will follow in the Blair Family cemetery.
Mr. Blair was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of the late Virgel Whitlock and Velda Louise Whitlock Rutter. He was a truck driver and was a former member of the Way Christian Fellowship.
Surviving are his wife, Gale Elaine Blair; daughters, Tiffany Gabrielle Blair, Karrie Michelle Blair, and Brittney Aron Blair, all of Cottageville; sons, Glen Eugene Blair, II, of Cottageville, and Austin and Cooper; brothers, Rev. SANDERS, Howell
Howell Polette Sanders, 82, of Cross, a retired Gunnery Sergeant with the U. S. Marine Corps, died Thursday at his residence.
The funeral will be at 2 PM, Monday at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Cross. Burial, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, will be in Holy Cross cemetery, James Island, with full military honors.
Mr. Sanders was born May 14, 1920 in Conyers, Georgia, a son of John H. Sanders and Charlotte Horne Sanders. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and the Fleet Reserve.
Surviving are his wife, Alberta Reeser Sanders of Cross; three sons, Edward Cox of Givhans, Al Cox of Charleston, Mark H. Sanders of Marietta, Georgia; four daughters, Mary Ann Ackerman of Oakdale, California, Charlotte S. Hadwin of Summerville, Peggy S. Peacock of West Ashley, Katie S. Lorang of North Charleston; sister, Ruth Griner of Bloomingdale, Georgia; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

Salvatore Joseph Marino, 90, Mt. Pleasant, SC, died in a local hospital August 15, 2002. The son of Ralph and Philamena Marino, he was born in Jersey City, NJ. Mr. Marino was retired from Electro Dynamics, a submarine manufacturing company. DUFF, Peggy
Peggy Olmstead Duff, 79, of Mount Pleasant, died Thursday, August 15, 2002, at a local nursing home. Born in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Earl Oren Olmstead and the late Frella Stillwell Olmstead Miller. She was married
to the later Richard Anthony Duff from 1945 until his death in 1986.
She attended the University of Oklahoma and was a secretary for Porter Paint Company in Atlanta, Georgia from 1973 to 1988. Mrs. Duff was actively involved in community service for over 50 years. She was an American Red Cross "Gray Lady" at the Veterans Hospital in Northport, Long Island from 1950 to 1953. She served as a Girl Scout leader and PTA Board Member from 1962 to 1967.
Mrs. Duff also devoted her time to the Catholic Church as a C.C.D. Teacher for 6 years at Christ the King Church in Perrine, Florida, Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and at Stella Maris Catholic Church on Sullivan's Island, South Carolina. She was a Eucharistic Minister of 5 years at St. Oliver Plunkett Church in Snelville, Georgia. She joined the Third Order of Mary, Marist Laity in 1976.
She is thankful for a lifetime of blessings of love from her family and friends.
Surviving Mrs. Duff are two sons, Richard P. Duff of Maryville, Tennessee and Michael A. Duff of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Kelly Duff Messier of Sullivan's Island, South Carolina; and six grandchildren: April Duff, Renee Duff, Jason Duff, and Jacob Duff of Atlanta, Georgia, and Caroline Messier and Steven Messier of Sullivan's Island, South Carolina. She is predeceased by one son, Robert Olmstead Duff.
