Entered into eternal rest on the morning of August 12, 2002, Violet Gloria Altman Wood. Residence, Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL, Wednesday afternoon, August 14, 2002, at 1 o'clock.
Internment will be private.
Friends may call at STUHR'S GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
Mrs. Wood was born January 8, 1932, in Beaufort, South Carolina, the daughter of Ike Altman and Rita Matthews Altman. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, Monks Corner, SC, and a retired hairdresser. She was a former Girl Scout leader and ceramics shop owner. She was known as "Mama San Church" (Karate).
Surviving are: two daughters, Linda Church Kelly of N. Charleston, SC, and Brenda Church Waddell of Moncks Corner, SC; two sisters, Margaret Floyd of N. Charleston, SC, and Louise Grott of Punta Gorda, FL; four grandchildren, Don Church, Krisha Waddell, Robert Kelly, and Patrick Kelly; one great-grandson, Scott Kelly.

RAGON, Tracy
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of August 11, 2002, Tracy Oleta Ragon, wife of Thomas Michael Ragon. Residence, James Island, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Michael Ragon are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter, Wednesday at 12:30 in James Island Presbyterian Church. Burial, private.
Mrs. Ragon was born April 22, 1968 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Robert Edward Bunn and Molly McKeithan Hughes.
She is survived by her mother and husband; four sons, Tommy, Gregory, Justin, and Shane Ragon, all of James Island, SC; one sister, Terri Davis Of John's Island; two stepsisters, Barbara Daniels of Charleston, SC, and Katrina Walker of Columbia, SC; one stepbrother, Allen Hughes of Waxhaw, SC; paternal grandmother, Oleta Bunn of Savannah, GA.
Memorials may be made to Children's Hospital of MUSC, 171 Ashley Avenue, Charleston, SC 29415.

FERNAU, Mary
BLACKVILLE, SC - Mary Ladd Fernau, 78, died Monday. Mrs. Fernau was the widow of George C. L. Fernau, Sr. Born in Blackville, she was the daughter of the late John Albert and Essie Whaley Ladd. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Charleston and was a homemaker. Survivors include: daughter, Mary E. W. Fernau of Ladson; son and daughter-in-law, John J. C. and Wendy Fernau of Hannahan; grandchild, Emma Fernau. Her son George C. L. Fernau, Jr. predeceased her.
Graveside services at The Blackville cemetery, 2:00 PM, August 13, 2002.

Appleby, Marie Mobley and Paula Mitchell all of Pineville S.C., Mark Anthony Cleveland, Margaret Mitchell and Catherine M. Scott all of St. Stephen, S.C.; brother of Mary McBride of Philadelphia, Pa. Inez Brown died on Monday, August 12, 2002, in Hartsville hospital after an illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by MITCHELL-JOSEY FUNERAL HOME, INC., OF DARLINGTON. The family is receiving friends at 1824 Lamar Highway, Darlington.

GANTT, Electra
The relatives and friends of Mrs. Electra Montgomery Gantt are invited to attend her Homegoing Service on Wednesday, August 14, 2002, 11:00 A.M. at Charity Baptist Church, 1544 East Montague Avenue, North Charleston, South Carolina. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Gantt is survived by her sister, Ida M. Tobin of Orangeburg, South Carolina; daughters, Gloria Lambright (Andrew) of North Charleston, South Carolina; Gale Hill (Willie J. Jr.), of Charleston, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Lillian Mosa of Alvin, South Carolina daughters-in-law, Jeanette Gantt of North Charleston, South Carolina and Tassie Blair of Newport News, Virginia; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to the I.M. Tobin Vision Care Fund, c/o Mrs. Gloria Lambright, 4751 Ezekiel Ave., North Charleston, South Carolina 29403.
Viewing for Mrs. Gantt will be at Charity Baptist Church 1544 East Montague Ave, North Charleston, South Carolina on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, from 6:00-8:00 P.M., and on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 from 10:00-10:45 A.M. at the church.

CARROLL, Marvin
Marvin Douglas Carroll, 52, died on August 8, 2002 at Carolinas Hospital in Florence, SC. Formerly of Chas., SC., a retired barber. He was the son of the late Hillie Carroll, and the late Ruby Bowles Carroll of Ravenel. Survivors includes a sister Patricia Hughes, two brothers Ben Carroll and Ollie Carroll, Sr., of Florence, several Nieces and Nephews

MANIGAULT, Herbert
The relatives and friends of Mr. Herbert Lee Manigault are invited to attend his funeral services 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 14, 2002 in Wesley United Methodist Church, 5100 Baptist Hill Rd. Internment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Manigault will be Tuesday, 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the chapel. There will not be a Family Hour.
Mr. Manigault is survived by his mother, Ms. Janie Mae Manigault; grandmother, Mrs. Janie Gardner; aunts and uncles, Thelma Smith (Clarence), Betty Gardner, Pearl Gardner, Estelle Nelson (Rev. Robert), Gloria Wilson (Johnny), Maggie Matthews (Frank), Barbara Robinson, Jerome Brown, Nancy Grant, and George Grant (Jackie); nieces, nephews, and cousins. THOMAS, Phillip
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Alexander Thomas are invited to attend the funeral services of the former on Wednesday, August 14, 2002, in Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church at twelve o'clock noon. Immediately following the services, friends are invited to attend a reception in the church social hall. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
There will be a memorial service held for Mr. Thomas in Miami, Florida, details to be announced at a later date.

COOPER, Lynda
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Cooper are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter at Victory Baptist Church, Tuesday morning, August 13, 2002, at 11 o'clock. COOPER, Lynda
Lynda Smith Crawford Cooper, 59, of Macedonia, an employee with Mentor Clinical Care Services, died Saturday at her residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Victory Baptist Church. Burial, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, will be in Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper was born December 19, 1942, in Simpson County, Miss., a daughter of the Reverend E.C. Smith and Allie Hilton Smith. She was a graduate of Macedonia High School. She was a member and musician at Victory Baptist Church. She was the widow of Paul Thomas Crawford.
Surviving are her husband, Charles S. Cooper of Macedonia; father, the Reverend E.C. Smith of Macedonia; son, Duane Crawford of Macedonia; daughter-in-law, Samantha Faulk Crawford of Macedonia; two grandchildren, Whitney Crawford and Casey Crawford, both of Macedonia.
Friends may call at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday evening. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 3896 Leeds Ave., North Charleston, S.C. 29405, or to Victory Baptist Church, 1120 Mail Route Road, Bonneau, S.C. 29431.
