Mrs. Legaspi was born October 24, 1921, in Cavite, the Philippine Islands, a daughter of Meliton and Concepcion Poblete Reyes. Mrs. Legaspi was a member of Charleston Church of Christ (INC) and was a dressmaker.
She is survived by a son, Ruben Legaspi of Jacksonville, Fla.; four daughters, Flora Alvarez of the Philippine Islands; Myrna Fabian and Vivian Jimenez both of Goose Creek, S.C.; Ruby Legaspi of Summerville, S.C.; a brother, Onofre Nuestro of the Philippine Islands; 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Alan Pierce Shewmaker, 70, of Atlanta, Georgia, husband of Grace Limehouse Shewmaker (formerly of Summerville), died October 12, 2002 in Atlanta.

VAUGHN, JR., John
John Vaughn, Jr., 68, of Summerville, died Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held, Thursday, October 18, 2002, 3:30 p.m., at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
Born in Greenville County, November 8, 1933, he was the son of the late John Vaughn and Alice Holcombe Vaughn.
Mr. Vaughn was a retired civil service fire fighter. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Vaughn was a life member of the Rifle Club, and the Mason Lodge in Summerville. He was of the Protestant Faith. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and brother.
Survivors include, his wife Barbara Mason Vaughn of Summerville, his mother Alice Holcombe Vaughn, of Belton, three sisters, Hettie Darby of Summerville, Mary Strawn of Summerville, Elizabeth Gambrel of Belton, four brothers, Bobby Holcombe of Leesville, Henry Vaughn of Belton, Thomas Vaughn of Williamston and Roger Vaughn of Belton, one granddaughter, Casey Lynn Lee of Summerville, and a loving little animal by the name of Fancy Girl.
The family will receive friends, 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2002, at Carolina Memorial Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston.

Mary Kate McLoy Jervey died on Sunday, October 13, 2002, at a local nursing home. Mrs. Jervey was born in Charleston, S.C., to the late James and Florence Mitchell McLoy. She attended Ashley Hall and was a graduate of Bishop England High School. She was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church. Mrs. Jervey is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Leroy Jervey; sister-in-law, Cecil Jervey; one nephew and wife, Dr. and Mrs. Wilbur Wise; one niece, Mrs. Katherine Hoy Wise; great-niece, Michelle Wise and great-nephew, Scott Wise. ADAMS, Margaret
GEORGETOWN - Margaret McGhee Adams, 101, died Monday, October 14, 2002, at the Presbyterian Home of S.C. in Summerville.
Mrs. Adams was born in Renfrew, Scotland, on April 15, 1901, a daughter of the late Philip McGhee and Mary McArthur McGhee. She came to the United States in 1923, where she met and married
her late husband, Cecil Ernest Adams. They purchased Mouresina Plantation in 1964, where Mrs. Adams lived until moving to the Presbyterian Home in 1999.
Survivors include, a nephew, David C. McDonald of Citrus Springs, Fla.; a niece, Elizabeth Brittin of Philadelphia, Penn.; two grand-nephews and four grand-nieces.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning, October 17, 2002, at 11 o'clock at Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. J. Ben Sloan. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.

She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, East Cooper Women's Club and the East Cooper Newcomers Club.
She is survived by her husband of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Mother of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Lou Ann Marshal of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Margaret Johnson of Calabash, N.C., and Marcine Woodcox of Wichita, Kansas; one niece, Carol Ann Cook of Orange Park, Fla.
