Margaret Dietze Eaton, 69, of Johns Island, died Saturday, August 3, 2002, at Roper Hospital. Born April 27, 1933, in Charleston, S.C., she was the daughter of Arthur Walter Dietze, Sr. and Marie Daggett Dietze. She was a graduate of Bishop England High School. Mrs. Eaton was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Her husband, John Joseph Eaton, Jr., preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, Arthur W. Dietze; one son, John Joseph Eaton, III; three daughters: Margaret Marie Eaton, Dawna Eaton Medders, and Cathy Eaton Delpit; daughter-in-law, Rozane F. Eaton; son-in-laws, Paul D. Delpit and Tony E. Medders; grandchildren: Angela E. Smith, John Joseph Eaton, IV, Tiffany Marie Eaton, Katrina Louise Delpit, Kayla Rose Delpit, Josey Francis Eaton and Jeanie Shea; and four great-grandchildren. SKINNER, James
James Alton Skinner, 67, of Goose Creek, died Friday, August 2, 2002 at a local hospital. A native of Porterdale, Ga., he was the son of the late James and Lillie Williams Skinner. Mr. Skinner was a retired Navy Machinist and was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Skinner is survived by his wife, Catherine Anne Black Skinner; a son, James Skinner of Goose Creek, S.C.; and a brother, Leroy Skinner of Stone Mountain, Ga. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at the Beaufort National cemetery on Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at 1:00 PM. Mr. Hahn was born October 1, 1928 in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Edward William Hahn and Henrietta Seeback Hahn. He was a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy. He served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam and retired as a Lt. Commander. He later worked with Rite Aid Pharmacy. He was a member of the German Friendly Society.
He is survived by his wife of Mount Pleasant; 2 sons: Edward W. Hahn, III of Mount Pleasant, S.C. and Mark Edward Hahn and his wife Penny of Charleston, S.C.; one daughter: Susan H. Derrick of Lexington, S.C.; one brother: Robert B. Hahn and his wife Peggy of James Island, S.C.

Mr. Whetsell was born December 27, 1949, in Charleston, S.C., a son of the late Samuel Jake Whetsell and Tolitha Driggers Whetsell Summers. Mr. Whetsell attended North Charleston High School and was formerly employed at the Charleston Naval Shipyard prior to its closing and presently was employed as an insulator at Naval Air Station "NADEP."
Surviving are his wife of Ladson, S.C., his son, Samuel "Sam" Jake Whetsell and his wife Ashley and granddaughter, Kayla Marie Whetsell, currently of Jacksonville, Fla., his brother, Henry Whetsell of Charleston, S.C., sisters, Martha Nora Trommetter of Charleston, S.C., Fay Clark of Summerville, S.C., Ann Chapman of Walterboro, S.C., Susette Mitchum of Hanahan, S.C., Cheryl DeForrest of North Charleston, S.C., and his granddaughter, Kayla Marie Whetsell of Jacksonville, Fla.

Mr. Stearns was born on January 5, 1936, in Montana, Mich., a son of George E. Stearns and Ester Nordenberg Stearns. He attended Wyoming High School in Montana, Mich. Following high school, Mr. Stearns joined the U.S. Army, retiring in 1975 after 22 years of service. During his Army career he served tours in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, where he received the Army Commendation and Air Medals. Following his military retirement, Mr. Stearns worked as an industrial paint contracting foreman with Flora Daniels. He was a member of the Ladson VFW Post 3433.
Surviving are, his wife of Ladson; his parents of Ocala, Fla.; three sons, Scott Stearns of Clyde, Ohio, Lynn Stearns of Clyde, Ohio, and John F. Simeone of Summerville; two daughters, Robin Neal of Seattle, Wash., Tia S. Jarman of Summerville; brother, Gary Stearns of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Nancy Stearns of Grand Rapids, Mich.; ten grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
