DAILEY, William
William Franklin Dailey, 43, died Saturday, August 3, 2002 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Mt. Hope cemetery in Florence, directed by WATERS-POWELL FUNERAL HOME.
Mr. Dailey was born in Florence, a son of William Cunningham and Ida Margaret McAbee Dailey. He was a graduate of West Florence High School and attended Anderson Junior College and Clemson University. He was a construction manager with the City of Charleston Housing Authority, and was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church of Florence.
Surviving in addition to his parents of Florence are a son, William Griffin Dailey of Garden City; a sister, Alison Dailey of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers: Chris Dailey and Greg Dailey, both of Florence, and Alan Dailey of Richmond, Va.; his maternal grandmother, Margaret McAbee of Florence; and a niece, Lauren Dailey.

EPPER, Margaret
Margaret Caroline Epper, 61, of Charleston, a member of the Mailing Center at the Hope Center died Friday, August 2, 2002, at a local hospital. Margaret was born on Wednesday, August 28, 1940, in Paterson, N.J., a daughter of the late Charles A. Epper, Sr., and Margaret Verbeke Epper. She was a 35 year member of the Co-educational Explorer Troop 69, at 18 year Charter Member of Girl Scout Troop 149, the Bergen and Passaic County Association's of Retarded Citizens, the North Haledon Exceptional Children's Association and was also an Athlete in the Special Olympics of New Jersey. Margaret is survived by her Mother of Charleston, her brother, Robert W. Epper of Charleston, three nieces and five nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, June Epper Caldwell and a brother, Charles A. Epper, Jr. The relatives and friends of Margaret C. BECK, Anne
Anne Beck, of Goose Creek, S.C., 92, died at her residence on August 1, 2002. Mrs. Beck was born in Warley Woods, England, on January 8, 1910. She was the widow of Arthur Cecil Beck of London. She is survived by two children, John Richard Beck of Montreal, Canada, and Anne Rosalind Kirk of Goose Creek, and three grandchildren, Christine Ann Beck, Eric William Arthur Beck, and Robert Marion Kirk.

SMOAK, Beatrice
Beatrice Jackson Smoak, 77, of Yonges Island, widow of Ryan Lanier Smoak, Sr., died Friday morning in a Charleston hospital.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 5, 2002 at 1 o'clock in The First Baptist Church of St. Paul's Parish, 6054 Highway 162, Hollywood. Burial will be in St. Paul's Episcopal Church cemetery, Hollywood.

Mrs. Smoak was born on April 30, 1925 in Marion, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Lacy and Maude Jackson. She was the retired owner of Smoak's Hair Care. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of St. Paul's Parish.
Surviving are four sons, George R. Smoak of Yonges Island, Lewis Steadman Smoak of Yonges Island, Ryan L. Smoak, Jr. of Yonges Island, Johnny H. Lewellyn of Hanahan; one daughter Barbara S. Lewis of Yonges Island; one step-daughter Linda S. Cox of Lake Wylie; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother Charles Jackson of James Island; one sister Nellie Bryant of Marion.

PATTERSON, Reva
Reva Valentine Sauls Patterson of Ridgeland, S.C., widow of L. Martin Sauls, Jr., and Hayes Patterson, Sr., died Saturday, August 3, 2002, at her home in Ridgeland, S.C., after a long illness.
Mrs. Patterson was born in Walterboro, S.C., the daughter of the late Lewis Casper Valentine and the late Florence Crosby Valentine. She and her husband, Martin, owned and operated Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland, S.C., from 1939 until his death in 1979. She was a well known artist whose work appears in homes and businesses throughout the Low Country. She was a member of Ridgeland Baptist Church and a charter member of Ridgeland Advent Christian Church; a 50 year member of Mary Heyward Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include, one son and daughter-in-law, L. Martin and Diana P. Sauls, III, of Ridgeland, S.C.; step-son, Hayes Patterson, Jr., of Charleston, S.C.; one daughter and son-in-law, Anne Sauls and E. Harold Mallard of Ridgeland, S.C.; grandchildren, Michael G. Dwyer, Tiffany D. Crosby, L. Martin (Marty) Sauls, IV, Albert L. (Buster) Kleckley, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Kathryn V. Crosby, P. Wyatt Crosby, and Macy Anne Sauls.
Funeral services will be at Ridgeland Baptist Church, Ridgeland, S.C., Monday, August 5, 2002, at 5 p.m. Burial in Ridgeland cemetery, Ridgeland, S.C. Visitation begins at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2002, prior to the service at Ridgeland Baptist Church.

BLAIR, Thelma
NORFOLK - Thelma F. Blair, 73, passed away on August 2, 2002.
Mrs. Blair was born in Ooltewah, Tenn., to the late Jeb Fairbanks and Sally Johnson Fairbanks.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John W. Blair; a daughter, Janice Blair Bailey of Chesapeake; two sons, John W. Blair, Jr., and Gary A. Blair and wife Cheryl "Dawn, " all of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Leslie B. Jones, Hope L. Bailey, Tracey L. Blair and Gary A. Blair, Jr.; three sister, Marjorie Hutchinson of Ohio, Emma F. Brooks and husband Ernest of Tennessee, and Frankie F. Johnson and husband George of Tennessee; and two sisters-in-law, Juanita Ackerman and husband Gene and Lois W. Blair, all of South Carolina.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of WOODLAWN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home, Monday, August 5, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m.
HEAD, M/Sgt. Benny

Mr. Head was born September 28, 1935 in Patterson, Georgia, a son of the late Andrew J. and Alice Mae King Head. Mr. Head was a member of Northwood Baptist Church where he was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. Master Sergeant Head retired from the U.S. Air Force after twenty years of service and had been the recipient of many ribbons during his career, and was also retired from the U.S. Postal Service as the Manager of Maintenance for the Charleston area, as well as a member of the American Legion Post #166 of Goose Creek, S.C. and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife of Goose Creek, S.C.; two daughters, Pamela Wheeler of Mount Pleasant, S.C. and Kimberly Solomon of Summerville, S.C.; one brother, Robert Head of North Charleston, S.C.; three sisters, Ernestine Hillis of Titusville, Fla., Janice Buck of Summerville, S.C. and Marlene Newport of Rock Hill. S.C.; three granddaughters, Kandace Solomon, and Zoe and Molly Wheeler; and one grandson, Christopher Solomon.
WEIR, Marian
Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Friday, August 2, 2002, Marian Elizabeth Carroll Weir, wife of Wallace Wayne Weir. Residence: Summerville, South Carolina. Mrs. Weir was born July 11, 1944 in Wilmington, Delaware, a daughter of the late Lawrence H. and Mary Elizabeth Lewis Carroll. She dedicated her life to serving God and serving her family. She loved teaching children about the love of God and many people have been impacted as a result of her demonstrating the depth of that love. Summerville was her last earthly home, Ridgeville Church of God her last church home, and heaven is her eternal home.
She is survived by her husband of Summerville, S.C.; one son, Reverend Charles W. Weir of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Wanda Sylvester of Hanahan, S.C.; three brothers, Darrell Tudela of Lisbon Falls, Maine, and Eddie Carroll and John Carroll, both of Shalotte, N.C.; and one granddaughter, Annie Elizabeth Weir of Atlanta, Ga.
SCHNEIDER, Albert
Albert L. Schneider, of North Charleston, S.C., died Friday, August 2, 2002 at his residence. All Funeral Services will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL.
Mr. Schneider was born in Charleston, S.C., the son of the late Albert H. and Sophie S. Schneider. He retired from Mattson Transportation Co. as a Diesel Mechanic and was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Schneider was known as the "North Charleston Gator".
Surviving are two sisters, Clara L. Cox and Mary Frances Reed, both of North Charleston, S.C.
