Mr. Head was born September 28, 1935, in Patterson, Ga., a son of the late Andrew J. and Alice Mae King Head. Mr. Head was a member of the Northwood Baptist Church where he was a member of the Mens Sunday School Class. Master Sergeant Head had retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years service and had been the recipient of many ribbons during his career and was also retired from the U.S. Postal Service as the Manager of Maintenance for the Charleston area as well as a member of the American Legion Post #166 of Goose Creek, S.C., and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife of Goose Creek, S.C.; two daughters, Pamela Wheeler of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Kimberly Solomon of Summerville, S.C.; one brother, Robert Head of North Charleston, S.C.; three sisters, Ernestine Hillis of Titusville, Fla., Janice Buck of Summerville, S.C., and Marlene Newport of Rock Hill, S.C.; three granddaughters, Kandace Solomon, Zoe and Molly Wheeler.

Born October 16, 1922, in North Charleston, S.C., Ms. Catoe was the daughter of Leemon James and Elizabeth Eaton Carner. She was a retired seamstress with Charleston Manufacturing. Ms. Catoe was a member of First Southern Methodist Church and a life member of the Roxanne Cox Missionary Society.
Her brother, Thomas Carner of Charleston; a daughter, Phyllis Thompson of Alaska; a grandson and two granddaughters; great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive Ms. Catoe.

Beatrice Jackson Smoak, 77, of Yonges Island, widow of Ryan Lanier Smoak, Sr., died Friday morning in a Charleston hospital.

BECK, Anne
Anne Beck, of Goose Creek, S.C., 92, died at her residence on August 1, 2002. Mrs. Beck was born in Warley Woods, England, on January 8, 1910. She was the widow of Arthur Cecil Beck of London. She is survived by two children, John Richard Beck of Montreal, Canada, and Anne Rosalind Kirk of Goose Creek, and three grandchildren, Christine Ann Beck, Eric William Arthur Beck, and Robert Marion Kirk.

FULTON, Robert
ANDREWS - Robert Evans Fulton, 80, died Thursday, August 1, 2002, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Mr. Fulton was born on April 13, 1922, in the Big Dam Swamp section of Georgetown County, near Andrews, a son of the late James Madison Fulton and Ida Jane Davis Fulton. He was the owner of Fulton's Grocery Store, which he operated for a number of years. Mr. Fulton also retired from the Woodlands Division of International Paper Company due to ill health.
Mr. Fulton was a member of Black River Original Freewill Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a member of Harper's Lodge #225, AFM. Mr. Fulton was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Charleston, Orient of S.C., and the Omar Shrine Temple. He was a charter member of the Omar Volunteers and a member of Rosemary Chapter #195, Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Fulton was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are, his wife, Talulah Benton Fulton of Andrews; two sons, George E. Fulton and James R. "Ronnie" Fulton, both of Andrews; two daughters, Wilma Faye F. Smith and Elaine F. Powers, both of Andrews; two brothers, Ellis E. Fulton of Columbia and Doward Fulton of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Mary F. Carter of Georgetown and Margaret F. Schrader of Columbia; an aunt, Mary Davis Page of Lakeview, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fulton was predeceased by a grandson, Ron Fulton; two brothers, Roland Fulton and Cleveland Fulton and three sisters, Eddie Mae Lylie, Estelle F. Parsons and Beatrice F. Hannah.
Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon, August 4, 2002, at 4 o'clock in Black River Original Freewill Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Jeff Cockrell and the Rev. H. Lamar Smith. Burial will follow in Piney Forest cemetery under the direction of the Andrews Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening, August 3, 2002, from 6 until 8 o'clock.
