MEYER, Frank
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 31, 2002, Frank D. Meyer. Residence, Charleston, S.C. A private graveside service was held Friday in Bethany cemetery.
Mr. Meyer was born March 10, 1921 in Charleston, S. C., the son of Eibe E. Meyer and Lottie Ethel Norwood Meyer. He was a graduate of High School of Charleston and served with the US Air Force during W.W. II. He was a member of St. Barnabas Lutheran Church. He retired as a warehouseman with Wetterau Foods.
A sister, Gertrude M. Pressley of Canton, NC and a brother, Frederick L. Meyer of Biloxi, MS, survive him.

LAMUNION, Lillian
Lillian Bartholomew LaMunion, 78, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at Guardian Care of Rocky Mount. She was born January 8, 1924 in Vernon, NY, daughter of the late Francis and Florence Austin Bartholomew. Lillian was a member of Circular Church of Charleston, S.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rush B. LaMunion, Sr., a son, Rush B. LaMunion, Jr. and a brother, Raymond Bartholomew.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Sharon LaMunion-Cook and husband, Dudley, of Arlington, VA, and Carol LaMunion West and husband, Ron, of Rocky Mount; her sons, Gary A. LaMunion and Richard L. LaMunion and wife, Joanne, all of Charleston; her brothers, Francis Bartholomew of Oneida, NY, and Roger Bartholomew of Lewisville, TX; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday, August 2, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at Live Oak cemetery, Charleston, S.C., with Rev. Bob Boston officiating.

HICKS, Carroll
Carroll "Bubby" Vern Hicks, Jr. 71, of North Charleston, died Thursday, August 1, 2002, at his daughter's residence.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2002, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens born January 2, 1931, in Lakeland, Florida. He was the son of the late Carroll V. Hicks, Sr. and Francis Vanzant.
Mr. Hicks was retired from the United States Air Force and The United States Air Force Commissary. He was an Air Force Veteran of Korean and the Vietnam War and member of The First Free Will Baptist Church.
Mr. Hicks was predeceased by a son, Mark C. Hicks, a sister, Marion Vanzant, and a brother, Jimmy Vanzant.
Survivors include his wife; Sally Elizabeth Smith Hicks of North Charleston, two daughters, Peggy A. Otto, of Summerville and Terry L. Harrison of Summerville. One son Billy J. Hicks of New Orleans. Two sisters, Mildred H. Knowles, of Clayton, Georgia, Maxine F. Evors, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, two brothers, Michael Kennedy, of Middleburg, Florida and George D. Vanzant, of Hastings, Florida. Three grandchildren, Elizabeth Harrison of Summerville, Jodi Fortunato, of Pembroke Pines, Florida. Julie St. Jean of Summerville and one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.

WALTERBORO - Mr. Charles Guy Crosby, 70, of 2711 Peniel Road died Thursday at the VA Medical Center in Charleston. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Great Swamp Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Padgett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, directed by THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.
Mr. Crosby was born in Colleton County, a son of the late Mallard C. Crosby and Mamie Jennings Crosby. He was an Army Veteran and a retired Welder. He was a member of Great Swamp Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Charles G. Crosby, Jr. of Hollywood, a daughter Rita Gay Helton of Ruffin, two brothers, Donald Crosby and Alton Crosby, both of Walterboro, a sister, Lennice Armstrong of Pensacola, Florida, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Clayton Crosby and a great-grandchild, Shelley Burts.

Anne Beck, of Goose Creek, S.C., 92, died at her residence on August 1, 2002. Mrs. Beck was born in Warley Woods, England, on January 8, 1910. She was the widow of Arthur Cecil Beck of London. She is survived by two children, John Richard Beck of Montreal, Canada, and Anne Rosalind Kirk of Goose Creek, and three grandchildren, Christine Ann Beck, Eric William Arthur Beck, and Robert Marion Kirk.
