Kurt Reisert, 34, died Wednesday at his residence in Mt. Pleasant. Kurt was a Representative for Pfizer. He attended Indiana University Business School (where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon) and the University of Kentucky Dental School. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Maria Reisert, his grandmother, Ruth D. Reisert, three sisters, Trina Barbercheck, Kiki Strother and Heidi Reisert, and four brothers, Bill IV, Greg, Nick and Peter Reisert. There will be a memorial service at Grace Episcopal Church on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at 7PM, 98 Wentworth Street, Charleston, SC. The Reverend Donald S. McPhail, officiating. Razzie "Tampa Red" Smith, Jr., 69, Campanella Avenue, Orlando, passed away, Sunday, May 5, 2002 in Orlando, Fla. He was born on May 25, 1932 in Parrot, Ga. Mr. Smith was a retired Educator for DeSoto County Public Schools and Orange County Public Schools. In addition to being an Educator, Mr. Smith was also the Head Football Coach for Smith Brown High School in Arcadia, Fla. from 1960-1963, Phyllis Wheatley High School in Apopka, Fla. from 1964-1966, and Jones High School from 1971-1977. Smith was an All-SIAC end at South Carolina State in Orangeburg from 1955-59. Mr. Smith was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Vice President for the Washington Shoes Homeowners association, and a member of the J.P. Piner Amvets Post #30. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Gloria, Orlando, sons, Ronald Razzle, III, Derrick, Ricardo, all of Orlando and Ritchie, Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Cheryl, Orlando; sister, Annie L. HESLIN, James
James Joseph Heslin, 86, husband of Marion McKee Heslin, died peacefully at his residence on Monday, May 6, 2002 with his family at his side. Mr. Heslin was born Monday, February 7, 1916 in Leitrium, Ireland the son of Michael and Catherine Cassidy Heslin. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during W.W. II in Central Europe, Normandy, Northern Frances and the Rhineland. Mr. Heslin was the retired manager of the William's Club of New York, a former member of the Elks Club, V.F.W. and an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. He loved bike riding, walking, poker, gardening, animals and reading. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2002 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Folly Beach. PORT ROYAL - Franklin J. "Chick" Doerr, 77, husband of Louise Sauls Doerr, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at his residence.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home, followed by burial in Beaufort National cemetery, with military honors.
Mr. Doerr was born on March 3, 1925 in Brownsville, Ill., to the late Julius Charles Doerr and Helen P. Pfiester.
Mr. Doerr retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and served during WWII. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8760 and AMVETS. He also was a member of Port Royal United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of Port Royal, are a son, Clyde Allen Doerr of Hardeeville; a daughter, Judy L. Smith of Ladson; a sister, Minnie Rose Lawson of Varnville; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a son, James Franklin "Jimmy" Doerr.
