Entered into eternal rest on the morning of February 6, 2002, Keith Mack Tyner, Jr., residence, North Charleston, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Keith M. Tyner, Jr., are invited to attend the graveside funeral services of the former at Riverview Memorial Park, this Friday, February 8, 2002 at 1 o'clock. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of S.C., Coastal Branch, 1941 Savage Road, Suite 200-A, Charleston, S.C. 29407.
Born July 8, 1923 in Hartsville, S.C., Mr. Tyner was the son of the late Keith Mack Tyner, Sr. and Dollie Nicholson Tyner. He was a retired Senior Chief in the US Navy (23 yrs) and served in World War II and Korea. He was also a retired Vice President at Adcor. Mr. Tyner was a delegate for the SC Silver Haired Legislature, and was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Charleston Rifle Club and the Fleet Reserve.
Surviving Mr. Tyner are his wife, Annie Putnam Tyner of North Charleston; a daughter and son-in-law, Dollie T. Pilson and Randy Pilson of Summerville, three sons, Mack Tyner and his wife, Beth of St. George, S.C., Robert E. Tyner and Byron B. Tyner, both of N. Charleston; three sisters, Mary Marivittori of Columbia, S.C., Alice Benge, Lexington, S.C. and Margie Tyner of Columbia, S.C.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His first wife, Frances Tyner, preceded Mr. Tyner in death.
SPANGLER, Gertrude
Entered into eternal rest, Gertrude Moore Spangler, 101, of North Charleston on the morning of Thursday, February 7, 2002. Her funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 o'clock Saturday, February 9, 2002 in J. HENRY STUHR, Inc., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, DORCHESTER RD. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Chapel one-hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Mrs. Spangler was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina on April 18, 1900, a daughter of the late William and Margaret Justice Moore. She was the widow of Joseph W. Spangler, Sr. who died in October 1987. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Charleston for over 50 years.
Mrs. Spangler is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law; Tom and Earle Spangler of Charleston, SC, Max and Louise Spangler of Moncks Corner, SC, and Charles "Chuck" and Norma Spangler of Columbia, SC. Her sister, Margaret Lollis Grist of Lexington, SC, her brothers, Bill Moore of Orange County, Ca and Roy Moore of Greenville, SC, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren also survive.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of North Charleston, 4219 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29405.
BUKATMAN, Barry
On Sunday, February 3, 2002, Dr. Barry Bukatman of Potomac, Md, beloved husband of Joanne, passed away. Services were held at DANZANSKY-GOLDBERG CHAPEL INC., Rockville. GRUDOWSKI, Mary
Mary Elizabeth (Violet) Grudowski, 85, formerly of Murrysville, Pa. and Harrisville, Pa. died Saturday, February 2, 2002 in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Grudowski in February of 2001. She is survived by 8 children: Dolores Howell, Barbara Hayes, Janice Grudowski, Mary Zitomer, Stanley Grudowski, Nancy Kim Kmetz, Daniel and Michael Grudowski; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Visitation Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville, Pa. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville, Pa.

REED, Gaynell
DES ARC, ARK. - Mrs. Gaynell Elizabeth Dills Reed, 87, died at her residence Monday, February 4, 2002.
Mrs. Reed was born in Rockingham, Georgia, on February 27, 1914 a daughter of the late Judson Jordan and Mrs. Jewel Emily Farmer Dills. She moved to New Jersey as a child and lived there for fifty years before moving to Georgetown in 1977. She was a member of the Messiah Baptist Church in Georgetown. Her husband, the late Howard Carlton Reed died in 1979. Mrs. Reed moved to Arkansas in 1998 to make her home with her daughter.
Surviving are: one brother, C. Bernard Dills of New Mexico; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2002 in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. J.M. Kirkland. Burial will follow under the direction of the GEORGETOWN CHAPEL OF THE MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
SHIPES, Clara
DILLON - Services for Clara Marie Shipes will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in COOPER FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with burial in St. Paul cemetery in Hampton. Visitation is 7-9 Wednesday in the funeral home.
Mrs. Shipes, 74, died Tuesday in St. Eugene Medical Center.
Born in Hampton County, January 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Annie Lightsey. She was the widow of Heyward Shipes and was a member of the Charleston Assembly of God.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra E. Thompson of Dillon and Susan and Dale Spence of Tignal, Ga.; grandchildren, Christie and Keith Humphrey of Floyd Dale, Jack "Jay" Thompson of Florence, and Penny Rippy of Tignal, Ga.; eight great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Louise Shipes.
SEIGLER, James
James Arthur Seigler, 16, of North Charleston, died Monday evening in a local hospital as the result of an auto accident. The memorial service will be conducted 1:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon, February 9, 2002 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL.
James was born March 11, 1985 in Augusta, Georgia the son of Sandra Renew Seigler and Wade A. Seigler, both of North Charleston. He was a sophomore at Ft. Dorchester High School where he was active in the Air Force JROTC and the Sabre Drill Team.
In addition to his mother and father, James is survived by his sister, Nikki Seigler of North Charleston; his paternal grandparents, John F. and Evelyn Seigler, Jr. of Augusta, Ga.; his maternal grandfather, James F. (Loretta) Renew, Sr. of Franklin, Ky. and his maternal grandmother, Barbara (Larry) Hudson of Augusta, Ga. and his paternal great-grandfather, John F. Seigler, Sr. of Augusta, Ga. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and classmates also survive.
Memorials are suggested to the JROTC Drill Team, Ft. Dorchester High School, 8500 Patriot Blvd., North Charleston, S.C. 29420.
HIGHT, III, Charles
Entered into eternal rest on the evening of February 4, 2002, Charles Hunter Hight, III, "Pep" husband of Anne Louise Anderson Hight. Residence, Ladson, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hight, III are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock.
Mr. Hight was born in Louisville, Miss., the son of Charles Hunter Hight, II and Margaret Jay Hight. He was a retired Major from the United States Air Force.
Surviving are his wife of Ladson, S.C.; three daughters, Patricia Anne H. Ardis of Summerville, S.C., Mary Catherine H. Haas of Missoula, Montana, and Elizabeth Raine H. Litchfield of Alvin, S.C.; one son, Charles Reid Hight of Ladson, S.C.; one sister, Margaret Dare H. Keen of Tupelo, Miss.; four grandchildren, James Michael Ardis, Jr., Meredith Anne Ardis, Emily Catherine Ardis, and Kaitlyn Taylor Haas; one great-grandchild, Lacey Raine Litchfield.
Mr. Hight was preceded in death by his two sons, Warrant Officer William Reid Hight and Charles Hunter Hight, IV.
RICKENBAKER, Perry
Perry David Rickenbacker, 81, of Summerville, husband of Louise Livingston Rickenbaker died Tuesday morning.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2002 at 2 o'clock in First Baptist Church of Jedburg, Summerville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o'clock this evening.

Mr. Rickenbaker was born June 5, 1920 in Jedburg, South Carolina, a son of the late Pinckney Lewis Rickenbaker and Lilly Felder Rickenbaker. He was a graduate of Summerville High School. He was a retired Marine Machinist with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jedburg.
Surviving are his wife of Summerville; three sons, David Alan "Rick" Rickenbaker of West Columbia, S.C., Steve L. Rickenbaker of Summerville, and Ricky Rickenbaker of Summerville, S.C.; six grandchildren, Alison R. Greco of Cary, N.C., Shannon R. Burns of Charlotte, N.C., Jennifer T. Rickenbaker and Justin L. Rickenbaker, of Summerville, Benjy Harper and Michael Harper of Charlotte, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Emily, Paul-David, Mathew Greco of Cary, N.C. and Kaleb Harper of Charlotte, N.C.

MONROE, Susan
FLORENCE - Susan Godfrey Monroe, 72, of 1315 Madison Ave., died Tuesday, February 5, 2002, at her residence after an illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, February 8, 2002, at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope cemetery, directed by WATERS-POWELL FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Monroe was born in Olean, N.Y., a daughter of Grace Willson Godfrey and the late Colonel Milton E. Godfrey. She attended Penn State University.
Mrs. Monroe was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Second Tuesday evening Bridge Club, the Fourth Monday Bridge Club and was former secretary of the Renaissance Literary Club. She was retired from the Poynor Adult Education Center. She was also a member of the Invesisters Investment Club.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Kathleen "Kathy" Monroe Coenen.
Surviving, in addition to her mother of Florence, include her husband, Dr. Berry B. Monroe of the home; a daughter, Linda M. Neyle (Greg) of Sullivans Island; two sons, Christian A. Monroe of Florence and Berry B. Monroe, Jr. (Jennie) of Charleston; a brother, Edwin Godfrey (Sue) of Louisville, Ky.; two granddaughters, Emilie and Charlotte Neyle and a grandson, Edmund Neyle.
