WALTERBORO - Mrs. Kathy Padgett Ramsey, 39, of 343 Sunshine Lane died Monday in a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Glendale Memorial Mausoleum.
Mrs. Ramsey was born in Colleton County, a daughter of Eugene Padgett, Jr. and the late Helen Carson Padgett.
Surviving in addition to her father of Walterboro, are her husband, Joseph Dwight "Joey" Ramsey, Jr., two sons, Billie Joe Ramsey and Bobby Joe Ramsey, both of Walterboro, two brothers, Michael Padgett and Richard Padgett, both of Walterboro, six sisters, Alice Toomer of Walterboro, Barbara Vance of Ruffin, Gloria Jean Padgett of Allendale, Patricia Annette Jennings of Fairfax, Geraldine Padgett of Cottageville, and Elizabeth Wiggins of Lodge.

FOX, Randall
GREENVILLE - Randall Glenn Fox, 55, of Greenville, formerly of Charleston, S.C., and Vilas, N.C., died Saturday, January 19, 2002, at a Greenville hospital.
Born in Knoxville, Tenn., he was the son of the late Ira and Grace Smith Fox. He was a graduate of Appalachian State University. Mr. Fox worked for the Avery County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina for 17 years and was a professional photographer.
Surviving are his wife, Jodi Stuecher Fox of the home; sons, Joel Fox of Spokane, Wash., and Buzzie Fox of Morganton, N.C.; one granddaughter.
Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Willowdale Baptist Church in Vilas, N.C.
Visitation will be held, 1:30 p.m., prior to the service at the church.

GOLZ, Thora
Thora McCready Golz, 79, died Monday, February 4, at her Isle of Palms home. The memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 10, at 2 p.m., at Old Saint Andrew's Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River Road, Charleston. Mrs. Golz was born in Somerville, N.J., a daughter of James Stewart McCready and Eliska Lumb McCready. She graduated from Wilson College, Chambersburg, Pa., where she majored in the classics and received the President's Prize. She received her master's degree in dance from New York University. She also studied with such distinguished teachers as Martha Graham, Jose Limon, Charles Weidman and Doris Humphrey. She also studied at Radcliffe on a Ford Foundation Fellowship.
In her early career, Mrs. Golz focused on the performing arts, teaching dance at Metuchen High School, Metuchen, N.J.; Elmira College, Elmira, N.Y.; and the University of Mississippi, Oxford, Miss. Over her 41 years of marriage, she often collaborated with her husband, Joseph Golz, as choreographer for the operatic and performing arts works that he produced and directed. In later years she taught English at West Virginia University and Latin and Algebra at St. Francis High School, both in Morgantown, W.Va.
Mrs. Golz wrote the libretto and Margaret Lorince the music for an original children's musical, "Hans and the Golden Flute, " based on a book by Tom Hamil. The work has been performed in West Virginia and New York. Active in many organizations throughout her life, Mrs. Golz most recently has been a member of the Charleston Jane Austin Society, where she participated in many programs, including a talk she presented on "Jane Austin and the Dance."
She is survived by her son, Joe Golz of Mount Pleasant; her daughter and son-in-law, Allison and William Lacy of Kenilworth, Ill.; her grandchildren, Charlie, Catherine and Caroline Lacy, also of Kenilworth; and her sister, Jessica McCready Cann of Charleston. HADDON, Helen
The funeral services for Mrs. Helen Fridy Haddon, 78, of Gainesville, Ga., will be Thursday, February 7, 2002, 2 p.m., at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7 Shannon Dr., Greenville, S.C. The Rev. Wayne Horne will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

Mrs. Haddon died Monday, February 4, 2002, at the Bell Manor Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimers disease. Mrs. Haddon was born in Greenwood, S.C., to Mr. and Mrs. W. Allen Fridy. Mrs. Haddon graduated from Lander College in 1945 with a degree in sociology. She was a member of the Who's Who of American Colleges and Year Book Editor her senior year. In 1947 she married
Frank Haddon and raised their children in Greenville, S.C., for 16 years. Mrs. Haddon taught school in the Greenville County School System. She was a devoted member of her Sunday school class at Aldersgate U.M.C. and upon moving to Gainesville, Ga. In recent years the class was renamed in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Haddon as the Haddon Friendship Class. In Gainesville Mrs. Haddon was a current member of the Open Door Sunday School Class at the First Methodist Church. She devoted countless hours to her church and her community in volunteer work in both Greenville and Gainesville. Her unselfish dedication to her family, her friends and her church, her love of life and her true gift of compassion will be greatly missed.
Survivors include, husband, Frank J. Haddon, Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Jim McCoun, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Debra Haddon, Columbia, S.C., and John and Sandra Haddon, Mr. Pleasant, S.C. Six grandchildren also survive.

RIDGILL, Robert
Graveside services for Robert Odus Ridgill, 72, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday in the Manning cemetery in Manning.
Mr. Ridgill died Monday, February 4, at his residence after a long illness.
Born in High Point, N.C., he was the son of the late James Lee and Ruth Ward Ridgill. A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He attended the University of S.C., and Purdue University, and prior to his retirement, was owner of Tosco Industrial Supply Co., and later Central Industrial Supply Co., both based in Columbia, S.C.
A member of the Acadia Masonic Lodge, Mr. Ridgill was a charter member of the Jamil Shrine Temple and Lodge 14, in Columbia, S.C. A trustee and one of the original founders of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Columbia. He served as superintendent of the Sunday School for many years.
A respected leader in his field, Mr. Ridgill served on advisory boards for Faultless Caster Co., Evansville, Ind., Payson Caster Co., Gurnee, Ill., SKK Power Tool Co., Chicago, Ill., Utica Tool Co., Orangeburg, S.C., and as an Advisory Board Member for Midlands Technical College in Columbia.
Active in the community prior to his illness, he served on the S.C. State Board of Education Advisory Boards, served as a delegate for the S.C. Republican Party and as a Republican party precinct chairman for many years. He was a lifelong supporter, through donations, of the University of South Carolina and Epworth Children's Home.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Laura Winget Ridgill; daughters, Deborah Kingry of Greenville, S.C., Denise Fowler of Spartanburg, S.C.; four grandchildren, Jared Miller, Laura Andrews, Jonathan Murray, and Ashlee Fowler; a brother, James Lee Ridgill, Jr., of Manning; sisters, Ruby Ridgill Jacobs of Manning, Dora Ridgill Kinsey of Kiawah, and Doris Ridgill Tatum of Laurinburg, N.C.

HARLEYVILLE, S.C. - James T. (Jimmy) Grimsley, age 65, of 857 Second Bend Road died suddenly Monday February 4, 2002 at Trident Medical Center. Mr. Grimsley was born March 20, 1936 in McRae, Georgia a son of the late Arthur T. and Mamie Shaw Grimsley. He was a finish millworker for Blinds Plus in Charleston and owner of Palmetto Landscape Service of Harleyville. He attended First Baptist Church of Harleyville and was a former barber. Surviving are, his wife Grace Jean Parker Grimsley, 4 sons, Jimmy B. Grimsley, Gene A. Grimsley, Terry H. Grimsley, all of Harleyville, Tommy H. SHULER, Louise
HOLLY HILL - Mrs. Louise Heaton Shuler, 60, of 1146 Gilmore Ave., Holly Hill, died Monday in a North Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be 11 AM Wednesday, February 6, 2002, in the First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, with Dr. David Brien and Rev. John Hucks officiating. Burial will follow in the Island cemetery.
Mrs. Shuler was born in Reevesville, S.C. a daughter of Mrs. Dollie Nettles Heaton and the late Bryant Joseph Heaton. She was a 1959 graduate of St. George High School. She was a member of the Monday Morning Bridge Club, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Holly Hill. She was preceded in death by a sister Mrs. Virginia Sweatman and a brother, Bryant Joseph Heaton, Jr.
Surviving are husband, Charles V. Shuler of the home; her mother of Reevesville; son, Charles V. Shuler, II of Orlando, FL; daughter, Ms. Li Beth Shuler of North; and three grandchildren.
