Mr. Schroeder was born March 23, 1917 in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Julius Ernst Schroeder and Lula Melchers Schroeder. He was a member of St. Barnabas Lutheran Church and was a retired manager and chief engineer with South Carolina Electric & Gas. He attended Clemson University.
He is survived by two daughters: Sue S. Dority of Charleston and Nancy S. Turner of Perry, Florida; four grandsons: Thomas E. Dority, Jr., Dr. David S. Dority, Matthew B. Dority, and Matthew I. Turner; two sisters: Charlotte S. Kohn of Columbia, S.C. and Helen S. Bisanar of Hickory, N.C.

KEIGANS, William

Mr. Keigans was born November 18, 1927, in Dorchester, S.C., the son of John Preston Keigans and Margaret Keigans. He was a member of Southern Methodist Church and retired from the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Ruth Boulware Keigans, one daughter, Cathy Keigans of Ravenel, S.C.; two sons, John P. Keigans and Joseph Allen Keigans both of Johns Island, S.C.; a sister, Annie Ruth Lush of Naples, Fla. and two grandchildren, Cheryl and William Keigans.
KLOBUKOWSKA, Irena
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of February 16, 2002, Irena Tchorzewska Klobukowska widow of Wieslaw J. Klobukowski. Residence, Charleston, S.C.
Mrs. Klobukowska was born in Belarus and was a retired accountant with Gulf & Atlantic Insurance Company. She was past president and a founding member of the Polish Speaking Catholic Church and a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by a son, Christopher J. Klobukowski and his wife, Alice Klobukowski of Charleston; a grandson, Christopher J. Klobukowski, Jr. and his wife, Karen Klobukowski of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; two great-grandchildren: Alexandra and Matthew Klobukowski of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
The Mass of Christian Burial and the Prayers of Final Commendation will be held in Dallas, Texas.

She is survived by one daughter, Betsy Buhtz of Canada; two sons, John A. Leitch, Jr., wife, Patty and Donald N. Leitch, wife, Eileen of Charleston, S.C.; one grandson, Daniel E. Leitch of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Arthur Millar of San Leandro, Calif., and James Millar, wife Jane of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

THOMPSON, Verla Mae
Verla Mae Thompson, who preferred to be called "Skip, " was born August 3, 1918, in Akron, Ohio, and entered into eternal peace March 30, 2002, at the Medical University of SC. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles and Lillian Ballenger, and her sister Bernice.
During her lifetime, "Skip, " was a prospector, fisherman, gardener, church organist, dog-lover and motorcycle rider, and above all, was "Mom." She began her working career at the Kresge Company in Akron. After many years as an office manager and bookkeeper, she retired from the Charleston Chamber of Commerce in 1988.
Ms. Thompson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet L. and Harold L. Browning of James Island, SC. Her son, John L. Thompson, IV and his wife, Joyce, of St. Louis, MO. Grandchildren, Ella M. Browning, Harold L. Browning II, John L. Thompson, V, and Jessica Ann Thompson, granddaughter-in-law, Terri Browning. Great grandchildren, Harold L. Browning, III, Joseph C. Browning, Amy Forehand an Benjamin Hodges, as well as many good friends and neighbors.
Ms. Thompson was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. The Medical University of SC received her into the body donation program for research and teaching. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to make a donation to the Medical University Health Sciences Foundation or to a favorite charity.
