BLOWE, James
CROSS, S.C. - Rev. James L. Blowe, 74, of 1579 Poplar Hill Drive, Cross, S.C., died July 22, 2002, at a Charleston hospital.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 26, at 1 p.m., at Zion Untied Methodist Church, Cross, S.C. Rev. Wendell Sumter will officiate. Burial in Ebenezer Zion AME Church cemetery, Holly Hill, S.C. Arrangements by EUTAWVILLE COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME.
Rev. Blowe was born on May 10, 1928, in Norfolk, Va., to the late Joseph and Ester K. Blowe.
Survivors include, his wife, Rillia Blowe of the home, one daughter, Ms. Syretta A. Blowe of the home, one son, Kelvin Blowe of Ladson, S.C., one step-son, Robert Gavin of Cross, S.C., two brothers, Horace Blowe of Portsmouth, Va., and Jesse Blowe of Portsmouth, Va., one daughter-in-law, one step-daughter-in-law, eight sisters-in-law, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two brothers-in-law.
GOURDINE, George
The relatives and friends of George Gourdine, the third child of the late Rev. James E. Gourdine and the late Henrietta Bryant Gourdine, passed away on July 19, 2002. He was born at the family home in Cordesville, S.C., on November 7, 1923. He attended Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Fla., and later moved to New York where he was employed by the Postal Service. Upon retirement, he returned to Charleston, S.C.
He is survived by his brothers, Edward Gourdine, Nathaniel (Marie) Gourdine, Richard (Barbara) Gourdine; his sisters, Rosa Lee (James) Franklin, Millie (Butler) Martin, Mattie Robinson, Bertha Lee G. Bostic, Miriam Gourdine and Louise Gourdine; his play sister, Althea Lennen, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
James Gourdine, Jr., the second oldest brother, predeceased him.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2002, at 1 p.m., in Harleston-Boags Funeral Home, Inc. Friends may call at Harleston-Boags Funeral Home, Inc., on Friday, July 26, 2002, from 5 to 7 p.m.

SNYDER, Ronald
Ronald E. Snyder, 48, of Charlotte, N.C., died July 17, 2002 at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville.
Mr. Snyder was born October 31, 1953 at Bakersfield, California, a son of Barbara Smith Snyder and the late John Edward Snyder. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ronald E. Snyder will be held 5:00 PM Saturday, July 20, 2002 from the McEwan Pineville Chapel. The family will greet friends following the service. Ronald's final wishes were to be cremated and have his remains scattered in beautiful Mt. Mitchell, N.C.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Rita Snyder; four children: Eddie Perry, Krisha Snyder, Alex Fowler and Anna Fowler; his mother, Barbara Burkett; two sisters, Maria Snyder and Sherry Tyndall; one brother, Billy Snyder; one grandson, Dylan Smith; nine nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, William.

HILL, Marie Ann
Marie Ann Hill, 79, died Monday, July 22, 2002, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Hill was born November 24, 1922, in New York City, N.Y., to the late John Thomas and Anna Mae McCullum Robinson. She was a former resident of Hialeah, Fla., from 1951-1993. Mrs. Hill was a retired professional secretary and was a member of the National Secretary Association and was named secretary of the year. She was at one time moderator of C.Y.O. at St. John the Apostle in Florida. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband John J. Hill. Mrs. Hill is survived by one son, John J. Hill, Jr., and wife Emaline of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four daughters, Maria Young, of Valdosta, Ga., Patricia Lord and Eleanor Caraviello and husband Bernard of Charleston, S.C., and Grace Charlton and husband Leroy of Miami, Fla.; one brother, John T. Robinson of Baton Rouge, La., one sister, Grace Renard of Miami, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren. WALBRING, Lois
Lois Walbring, 78, of Goose Creek, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2002 at a local hospital. She was born in Nokomis, Illinois September 11, 1923. Mrs. Walbring moved from Chicago to Goose Creek 10 years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Goose Creek.
Mrs. Walbring was active with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and an integral part of Berkeley Senior Inc., Goose Creek location where she volunteered three days a week. Mrs. Walbring volunteered at the Goose Creek Library and worked as a poll worker. preceded in death by her husband Clarence Walbring in 1968 she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Jim and Doni Walbring, Goose Creek; two brothers and sisters-in-law Paul and Twila Presnell and Bob and Faye Smalley, all of Nokomis, IL; three sisters: Jean Fieberg, San Pierre, IN, Betty and her husband Herman Shermer, Adelphi, MD, and Ellen and Jim Smith, Nokomis, IL; two granddaughters: Heather Walbring, Goose Creek and Sheri Walbring and her fiancé Robert Morris III, of Ladson; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Goose Creek, 141 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, S.C.

TUCKER, William
William Sanford Tucker 70, of Summerville, died Monday, July 22, 2002, in a local hospital.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 25, 2002, at 11 a.m. in CAROLINA MEMORIAL PARK. Born August 18, 1931, in Anson County, NC. He was the son of the late Leroy Tucker and Dallie Kellis Tucker.
Mr. Tucker was a retired Truck Driver for Best Steel as a Long Distance Carrier. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War. Mr. Tucker was known for his great love for children.
Survivors include, a daughter, Sandra Tucker Kennedy, of Lilesville, NC. A son, Michael R. Tucker, of Summerville, two sisters, Mildred Wright, of Monroe, NC and Lula Bell Davis, of Peachland, NC. One brother, Richard Tucker, of Marshville, NC. Three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
