BROWN, Harris
KINGSTREE- Harris F. Brown, 72, died Wednesday in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Brown was born in Williamsburg Co., a son of the late Charles Leroy Brown and Mrs. Dora McGee Brown. He was a graduate of Kingstree schools and was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Tech Sergeant. Mr. Brown was a designer and builder of boats and knives and a gunsmith. He was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a son: James Brown, and a grandson: Christopher Brown.
Surviving: His Wife: Mrs. Idella (Ikey) Hanna Brown of Kingstree, 3 sons: Harris F. Brown, Jr. of Martinsburg, W. Va., Jeffery Brown of Groveland, Fl, and Russell Brown of Howey In The Hills, Fl, 2 daughters: Melissa McFaddin of Madison, Al., and Stephanie Evans of Kingstree, 6 grandchildren.

Surviving Mrs. Jordan are her daughter, Nancy J. White of N. Charleston; two sisters, Edna M. Sutton of Charleston and Sibyl M. McKinney of Columbia, S.C.; a grandson, Will White of Athens, GA and a granddaughter, Melanie R. White of N. Charleston.

Elmer "Fudd", 51, retired custom home builder and owner of Mullinax Construction Company, died Friday, October 4, 2002 at his residence in North Charleston. He is the son of Jessie K. Mullinax and Gladys Roach Mullinax of Greenville, SC, who predeceased him. Mr. Mullinax was a Viet Nam Era Veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3137, Isle of Palms, SC.
Mr. Mullinax leaves behind his loving family; His wife, Sara Jean Dickerson; two brothers, Earl Mullinax of Hollywood, SC, and Harold Mullinax of Orange Park, FL; six sisters, Janie Wilderspin, Elsie Alexander, Myrtle Holloway, Lavada Drake, Louise Barbrey and Pat Carter, all of Greenville, SC. His seventh sister, Sara Hudson of Greenville, SC, predeceased him. He also leaves behind three loving stepchildren, Mery Mitchell of Goose Creek, SC, Jesse Berrigan of Hackettstown, NJ, and Jo Ana Berrigan of North Charleston, SC, as well as three adoring grandchildren, J. Dustin Mitchell, Ana Leigh Berrigan and Joshua Berrigan, all of Charleston, S.C. and a multitude of nieces and nephews in Charleston and Greenville, S.C. He also leaves behind countless dear friends all over Charleston, SC, and around the country.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 150 Wentworth St., Charleston, SC. Family will receive relatives and friends after the service at 4772 Yardley Drive, Wando Woods, North Charleston, SC.

Morris Lewis, 68, of 143 Iris Lane, Dorchester, SC, former Norfolk-Southern Railroad employee, died Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at a Charleston hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services for Mr. Lewis will be held 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at Bethel Baptist Church, Texas Community, St. George, SC with the Rev. McKinley Ravenell officiating. Burial will be in the Britt cemetery, St. George, SC.
Mr. Lewis was born October 4, 1934 in the Texas Community of St. George, SC, a son of the late Roosevelt Lewis and Justine Hayes Lewis. He was a life-long member of the Bethel Baptist Church, St. George, SC and attended the public schools or Dorchester County. He was employed for many years with Norfolk-Southern Railroad Co.
Surviving are one sister, Rose M. (Clyde) Appling of Columbia, SC, four brothers, Joe Lewis of Dorchester, SC, Jerry (Shirley) Lewis of Reevesville, SC, John Lewis and Odell Lewis both of Pregnal, SC, eight aunts: Pretto Sebb of Cleveland, OH, Ruth Hayes, Annie Lee Britt and Addie Britt, Fannie Kearney all of St. George, SC, Betty Hayes Bey of Atlanta, GA, Myzena Guess of Vance, SC, Mary Hayes of Cleveland, OH, one grandaunt, Ruby Mae Britt of St. George, SC, three uncles, Lula Hayes of Cleveland, OH, Moses Britt and Melvin Kearney both of St. George, SC, Foster family Nathaniel and Betty Frazier of Harleyville, SC, special cousins, Johnny C.
