Mrs. Sondles was born in Logan, W.Va., the daughter of Albert Lilly and Florence Tomlin. She was a construction secretary for Martin Builders. She was an INEX member.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Joseph Senk of Northfield, Ohio, and Alan Sondles of McCormick, S.C.; four daughters, Linda Moran of Akron, Ohio, Brenda Niederkorn of Trophy Club, Texas, Brenda Chapman of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Kitty Brown of Akron, Ohio; four brothers, Cletus Lilly of Kentucky, Romey Lilly of Kentucky, Sherman Lilly of Campstend, N.C., and Harold Browning of James Island, S.C. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

BECKMAN, JR., William

Mr. Beckman was born on January 2, 1939, in Columbia, S.C., a son of the late William Peter and Ruth Folk Beckman. He was a graduate of the Presbyterian College. He was retired from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel and was a Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by two sons, William Peter Beckman, III, and Kenneth T. Beckman, both of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; one sister, Anne Beckman Rumer of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; three grandchildren, Savannah Beckman, Zachary Beckman, and Gabrille Beckman, all of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and special companion, Sarah Ray of Jedburg, S.C.

Mrs. Butler was born February 20, 1918, in Givhans, S.C., daughter of John and Blanche Jackson Mims. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Memminger High School. Mrs. Butler was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W., Post 3142.
She is survived by her husband of James Island, S.C.; one son, Leslie J. Tucker of James Island, S.C.; two grandsons, Michael L. Tucker of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Scott D. Tucker of Anderson, S.C.; one great-grandson, Riley S. Tucker; two step-daughters, Cindy Oliver of James Island, S.C., and Sue Bass of Leesburg, Ala.; two step-daughters, Rachel Oliver and Katherine Oliver, both of James Island, S.C. Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her first husband, Judson M. Tucker.

MCGEE, John
SCRANTON - Mr. John Samuel "Sam" McGee, 70, died Saturday, October 5, 2002, in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Mr. McGee was born in Lake City, a son of the late Melvin and Minnie Strickland McGee. He retired from Scranton Metal Decking, and he attended Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include, his wife, Pearlean Altman McGee of Scranton; three daughters, Diane (Mike) Floyd of Cades, Linda Faye Antuna and Sandra Gayle Nesbitt, both of Lake City; three sons, David (Brenda) McGee of Lake city, Bobby Joe McGee of Turbeville and Rusty McGee of Sumter; three brothers, Samuel Melvin McGee of Charleston, Lonnie McGee of Atlanta, GA and Perlon Robert McGee of Hartsville; two sisters, Louisa Sheffield and Jettie Rainer, both of Lake City; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 step-children; 13 step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Bruce McGee.
Funeral service will be at 4:00 P.M. Monday, October 7, 2002, in Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the Scranton United Methodist Church cemetery.
