Art O. Knight, III 46, of 5 East Indian Trail, died September 30, 2002 at his residence.
Born in Tripoli, Libya, he was a graduate of Furman University with a B.S. Degree in Political Science. He was the Mid-West Regional Sales Manager at Hartness International and a member of Lee Road United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara W. Knight and two sons, Hilton and Ethan Knight of the home, his parents, Artie Jr. and Elinor Griffith Knight of Orangeburg and a brother, J. Russell Knight of Columbia.

Jack Reynolds was born November 14, 1927 in Charleston, a son of John Joseph and Jennie Smith Reynolds. He attended Cathedral Catholic School and graduated from Murray Vocational High School. He joined the Merchant Marines as a young man and then enlisted in the US Navy where he honorably served his country during the Korean War. Mr. Reynolds was a life long member of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Life member of the American Society of Naval Engineers, the Fleet Reserve, the Elks Club, the American Legion, and the Navy League. He was employed by the Charleston Naval Shipyard for 25 years and was the former owner of John J. Reynolds Plumbing and Heating Company. Mr. Reynolds loved traveling, books, and music. He is survived by his wife of Charleston, 3 daughters, Catherine R. Biasello of Austin, TX, Sarah R. Haig of Folly Beach, and Grace R. Fielding of Charleston; 2 sons, John J. FLORENCE - Leonide "Punkin" L. Dunn, 89, died Saturday, September 28, 2002 in Summerville, SC.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at Mount Hope cemetery, directed by WATERS-POWELL FUNERAL HOME.
Mrs. Dunn was a native of Florence, SC, a daughter of the late Edward Huger Lucas and Leonide Lucas. She graduated from Florence High School and Flora McDonald College in Red Springs, NC. She was the widow of William Burwell Dunn. "Punkin" was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church until her health failed and she moved from Florence. She was active in a number of social and civic organizations.
Survivors include her sons, William Burwell Dunn and wife Myrna of Hendersonville, NC, Edward Lucas Dunn of Summerville, SC, Marion Wilkerson Dunn and wife Vicki of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren. Her granddaughters are Emily Elisabeth Dunn of New York, NY, Kristin Elaine Dunn of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Lauren Marie Dunn of Melbourne, Australia, Brittany Erin Dunn of Atlanta, GA, and grandson, Jonathan Ryan Dunn and his wife Stefanie of Atlanta, GA.
DICKSON, Ethelyn
LAKE CITY - Mrs. Ethelyn Floyd Dickson, 85, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning September 29, 2002, at her residence.
Mrs. Dickson was born in Lake City, a daughter of the late Felton L. and Bettie Nettles Floyd. She was the last in a generation of 11 children. Mrs. Dickson devoted her life to the care and well being of others. She and her family moved to Lake City to care for her father and she continued to provide care, love and support to other family members. Her loving and sweet manner was a source of great comfort to all who knew her. "A life of service to others is the greatest work of all" was her life's motto. "MaMa" held a special presence in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They received and enjoyed her unconditional love.
Mrs. Dickson was a graduate of Lake City High School and attended Furman University. She was a member of the Kingstree Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include, her husband, Joe E. Dickson of Lake City; one son, Joe E. Dickson and daughter-in-law Diane Dickson of Columbia; one daughter, Viva D. Herscher and son-in-law, Carl Herscher of Mt. Pleasant; four grandson, Jo Jo Dickson of Myrtle Beach, Ryan Dickson of Lake City, Marc Herscher of Atlanta, Ga., and Adam Herscher of Columbia; and one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Dickson of Lake City.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2002, in the Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends in the home at 1531 W. Turbeville Highway.
