Ila Gunnells Easterlin, 82, widow of Pinckney Easterlin, of Cottageville, SC, died Thursday, September 26, 2002 at her residence.

IMKO, Helen
Helen Holubowitz Imko, 86, widow of Edward Joseph Imko, of Summerville, SC, died September 16, 2002 at a local nursing home.
Memorial services will be held Saturday morning, November 2, 2002, All Souls Day, at St. George's Episcopal Church at 11:00 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. George's Episcopal Church, 9110 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC 29485.
Mrs. Imko was born August 30, 1916 in New York, New York, a daughter of Konstantin and Stella Holubowitz. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and a member of St. George's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Edward A. Imko of Summerville; four grandchildren, Walter Imko, Madolyn Imko, Victor Imko, and Genevieve Imko, all of Summerville; and their mother, Moira Madolyn Belanger of Summerville.

CHAVIS, Edna
Edna Grantham Chavis, 77, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Chavis was born in Jesup, GA, on July 28, 1925, the daughter of the late Oscar Lee and Idell Bailey Grantham Lloyd. She is survived by one daughter, Melverie Kops Bevis and her husband, James F. Bevis, of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Gaynell G. Maddray and her husband, John L. Maddray, of Charleston, SC; one nephew and two nieces.
All services will be private. The Chavis family is being served by THE CREMATION CENTER OF CHARLESTON.
BATH, Benjamin
PT. WENTWORTH, GA - Mr. Benjamin Thomas Bath, 82, died on Thursday, September 26 at his residence.
The Toombs County native was retired from Union Camp. He was a WW II Army Veteran and a member of Bonnybridge Baptist Church. He had attended First Baptist Church of Pt. Wentworth.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Sheffield Bath of Port Wentworth; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Bath (Richard) Mock of Charleston, SC; a granddaughter, Stacey Mock (Bob) Hodgdon of Savannah; a grandson, Brian Mock of Charleston; a sister, Maggie Golding of Blitchton; brothers, John M. (Louise) Bath of Guyton, Donald Bath of Troy, AL, Jimmie J. (Peggy) Bath, Jesse L. Bath, and James A. (Bonnie) Bath, all of Stilson, and Eugene T. (Norma) Bath of Blitchton; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2002 at the THOMAS C. STRICKLAND & SONS FUNERAL HOME, West Catham Chapel, in Pooler.

Marguerite C. Fox, 86, of Charleston wife of the late Charles L. Fox passed away Thursday, September 25that a local hospital. Born in Bamberg, SC to the late Thomas Jefferson and Ruth Gibson Cook. Mrs. Fox was retired from the City of Charleston after 25 years as treasurer. She was a graduate of North Charleston High School, and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Surviving Mrs. Fox is her two daughters, Frances Varn of Sullivans Island, and Dorothy McLain of St. Marys, GA., seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Mary F. HAULBROOKS, Gerald
Gerald L. Haulbrooks, 70, of Folly Beach husband of Sonia Haulbrook, passed away Tuesday, September 24that his residence. Born in Anderson, SC to the late, Otis James and Mary Broome Haulbrooks, he was a 1950 graduate of Fairforest High School in Spartanburg, SC. He then entered the United States Navy in 1949 and was employed by Naco Company as a clerk typist in January of 1953. He was transferred to Charleston as a chief Accountant for all of SC operations. From July 1, 1960 to November 1, 2001 he was owner and President of Gerald L. Haulbrooks Public Accounting Firm. Mr. Haulbrooks was very active in the community. He served as a member of the S.C. State Board of Accountancy for 8 years; a member of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy for 8 years; 12 years as a member and 5 years chairman of the St. Andrews Park and Playgrounds Commission; 2 terms as President of the S.C. Society of Accountants; twice as President of the Optimist Club; as committee chairman for the National Association of Public Accountants; as a member of the Pet Helpers Board of Directors since 1997; member of the Country Club of Charleston; Life Member of the Elks Lodge Post # 242; former member of the Real Estate Brokers, Rifle Club, and Sertoma Club. A resolution passed in the House of Representatives bill number H. 2122 in the state of S.C. to commend Gerald L. Haulbrooks for his many years of unselfishness and dedicated service as a member of the St. Andrews Parks and Playground Commission. In Mr. Haulbrooks spare time he enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Surviving him is his wife of the home; daughter, Dr. Brenda H. Cox of Greensboro, NC; three sons: Gerald L. Buddy Haulbrooks, Jr., of Ravenel, SC., Richard G. Haulbrooks of Garden City, SC., and Donald E. Haulbrooks of Summerville, SC., also 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. His brother Edgar Haulbrooks predeceased Mr. Haulbrooks. MANSFIELD, Francina
Francina Hamilton Mansfield, 90, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, widow of Edmund Ravenel Mansfield, died Thursday, September 26, 2002, in Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Mansfield was born on March 23, 1912 in Birmingham, AL, daughter of W. Chalmers and Lucia Bowen Hamilton. She was a graduate of Birmingham-Southern University and the University of Iowa. During World War II, Mrs. Mansfield worked for the USO in Virginia and Costa Rica. She was a retired teacher of Spanish, French and German. She taught at Lander College, Moultrie High School, the College of Charleston, and Baptist College (Now Charleston Southern University.).
Mrs. Mansfield is survived by her two sons, Edmund Ravenel Mansfield, Jr. and Joseph Bowen Mansfield; her daughter-in-laws, Christine Mignery Mansfield and Sallylee Willms Mansfield; her grandchildren, Peter Ravenel Mansfield, Edmund Ravenel Mansfield III, Jo-Lee Bowen Mansfield and Howland Mignery Mansfield; and her great-grandchildren, Anna Ravenel Mansfield and Joseph Wilder Mansfield.
Mrs. Mansfield was a fifty-year member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted Sunday school teacher.
The family will receive friends at Stuhr’s Funeral Chapel, Mt. Pleasant, on Saturday, September 28, 2002, from 4 to 6 PM. The funeral service will be on Sunday, September 29, 2002, at 3:30 PM at the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Christ Episcopal Church cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, SC.
