MUCKENFUSS, Mary
Mary Wanda Harley Muckenfuss, 77, of Meggett, wife of Milton M. Muckenfuss, died Wednesday evening in a Charleston hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2002 at 11 o'clock in Calvary Baptist Church, Meggett. Burial will be in St. Paul's Episcopal Church cemetery, Hollywood.

Mrs. Muckenfuss was born on August 14, 1925 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Frances Marion Harley and Lena Huthmacher Harley. She was a graduate of St. Andrews High School and the Medical University of South Carolina School of Nursing. She was a member of the Charleston Doll Club and St. Paul's Garden Club. She retired as a registered nurse with Westvaco. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Hollywood.
Surviving are her husband of Meggett, 2 daughters, Marsha Muckenfuss Blandenburg and her husband John of Meggett, Mary Sharon Muckenfuss Phillips and her husband Robert of Donalds, SC; 1 son, Milton Prentiss Muckenfuss and his wife Marilyn of Charleston; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Shirley Anne Fine of Savannah, GA.

Robert Phillip Acuff, Jr., 46, of Summerville, husband of Laurie Catherine Smith Acuff, died Sunday, September 22, 2002, at his residence.

Mr. Acuff was born August 16, 1956 in Columbia, Missouri, the son of Dr. Robert Phillip Acuff, Sr. and Diane Adel Davis Acuff of St. Joseph, Missouri. He was a graduate of Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri and a graduate of Missouri Western Day College. He served in the United States Army. He was an Eagle Scout of the Pony Express Counsel Boy Scouts of America. He was an accountant with Sprint. He attended Fellowship of Oakbrook in Summerville.
Surviving are his parents of St. Joseph, Missouri; his wife of Ladson; 2 daughters, Abigail Diane Acuff of Knightsville, Sarah Catherine Acuff of Ladson; 1 son, Nelson Davis Acuff of Ladson; 1 brother, Dr. Michael Acuff of Columbia, Missouri; 2 nephews and 3 nieces.

Born April 25, 1931, in Charleston, Mr. Reeves was the son of Bernard H. and Thelma Myers Reeves. He was a retired Pipefitter and Ship Inspector at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was a former employee of Carolina Water Company in Columbia, S.C. Mr. Reeves was a member of Remount Baptist Church.
Surviving Mr. Reeves are his wife, Doris Goff Reeves of Hanahan; his mother, Thelma Myers Reeves of Goose Creek; four sons, Gerald I. Reeves of Jedburg, S.C., R. Darrell Reeves, Phillip L. Reeves and D. Eugene Reeves, all of Charleston; two daughters, Lynn R. Cotrano of Cleveland, Ohio, and Melody R. Hutson of Hanahan; two brothers, Bernard H. Reeves, Jr., of Goose Creek and Richard W. Reeves of New Ellenton, S.C.; a sister, Bernardeen R. Carter of Hanahan and 11 grandchildren.

HAULBROOKS, Gerald
Gerald L. Haulbrooks, 70, of Folly Beach husband of Sonia Haulbrook, passed away Tuesday, September 24that his residence. Born in Anderson, SC to the late, Otis James and Mary Broome Haulbrooks, he was a 1950 graduate of Fairforest High School in Spartanburg, SC. He then entered the United States Navy in 1949 and was employed by Naco Company as a clerk typist in January of 1953. He was transferred to Charleston as a chief Accountant for all of SC operations. From July 1, 1960 to November 1, 2001 he was owner and President of Gerald L. Haulbrooks Public Accounting Firm. Mr. Haulbrooks was very active in the community. He served as a member of the S.C. State Board of Accountancy for 8years; a member of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy for 8 years; 12 years as a member and 5 years chairman of the St. Andrews Park and Playgrounds Commission; 2 terms as President of the S.C. Society of Accountants; twice as President of the Optimist Club; as committee chairman for the National Association of Public Accountants; as a member of the Pet Helpers Board of Directors since 1997; member of the Country Club of Charleston; Life Member of the Elks Lodge Post # 242; former member of the Real Estate Brokers, Rifle Club, and Sertoma Club. A resolution passed in the House of Representatives bill number H. 2122 in the state of S.C. to command Gerald L. Haulbrooks for his many years of unselfishness and dedicated service as a member of the St. Andrews Parks and Playground Commission. In Mr. Haulbrooks spare time he enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Surviving him is his wife of the home; daughter, Dr. Brenda H. Cox of Greensboro, NC; three sons: Gerald L. Buddy Haulbrooks, Jr., of Ravenel, SC., Richard G. Haulbrooks of Garden City, SC., and Donald E. Haulbrooks of Summerville, SC., also 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. His brother Edgar Haulbrooks predeceased Mr. Haulbrooks.
