Mrs. Brock was born in Bliss, Mich., the daughter of Hubert Ellis and Jessie Evelyn Ellis. She was an inventory specialist with Regis. She attended Pinecrest Baptist Church.
Surviving are her mother, Jessie Ellis of Silver Springs, Fla., one daughter, Dawn M. Crone of Speedway, Ind., and two grandchildren; one son, Shawn Brock of Johns Island, S.C.; one brother, Henry Ellis of Silver Springs, Fla.

FLOYD, Letha
KINGSTREE - Mrs. Letha A. Floyd, 66, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002, in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Mrs. Floyd was born in Lake City, a daughter of the late Vernon Z. and Vina McKenzie Dennis. She was a floral designer and member of Kingstree First Baptist Church. She served as past president of both the Pilot Club of Kingstree and the local Lupus Foundation.
Survivors include, one son, Samuel L. Floyd of Kingstree; two daughters, Dennie F. (Don) Duke and Lisa Floyd Britton, both of Kingstree; three sisters, Sybil (William) Avant of Hemingway, Vernette (McNeil) McKenzie of Lake City and Dorothy Waller of Orlando, Florida; and four grandchildren, Cory Duke, Jessie Duke, John Floyd Britton and J. D. Britton, all of Kingstree.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 26, 2002, in the Kingstree First Baptist Church with burial in the Lake City Memorial Park.

MOORE, JR., John
John P. Moore, Jr., 79, husband of Mary L. Dodds Moore of Mount Pleasant, SC, died September 24, 2002 in a local hospital. Born January 12, 1923 in Crawfordsville, Georgia, the son of John P. Moore, Sr. and Louelle Burton Moore, he graduated from North Charleston High School and numerous management schools throughout his career. He was a Group Superintendent, Service Group Charleston Naval Shipyard, Shop Superintendent of the Electrical Shop Charleston Naval Shipyard, president of the National Association of Superintendents U.S. Naval Shore Establishments. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks. He served as a volunteer for ECCO - East Cooper Community Outreach, was president of the Island Club, The Holy Name Society of Stella Maris Catholic Church and president of East Cooper Youth Organization. He was a member of the Sullivan's Island Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Moore was named Federal Employee of the year Charleston Naval Shipyard and also named Federal Executive association - "Employee of the Year, " and received the Department of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award. Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Dodds Moore; and children, Nancy M. and Steve Hesler, Patty M. and Danny Smith, Dr. John P. and Cynthia Moore, III, David L. and Pam Moore, Kevin C. and Emily Moore, Janet M. Roman, Marcia M. and David Saari, James D. and Mary Condon Moore, and Molly M. Mark Lanning, twenty-one grandchildren, Christina, Angela, Johnny, Michael, Johnathan, Catherine Ann, Kimberly, Davey, Joseph, Amy, Taylor, Cullen, Terrell, Billy, David, Laura Ann, Jimmy, Mary Harriett, Rhetta, Alex, and Zachary; one great-granddaughter, Trinity; five sisters, Elizabeth Pate, Marcia Nolte, Louelle Bolchoz, June Milligan, and Mary Smith. Mrs. Ruth Pinckney Royster was the first and only daughter of nine children, born November 25, 1932 in Berkeley County, S.C. She went home to be with the Lord on Fri. September 20, 2002.

Theresa S. Tamsberg, 60, of California, formerly of Charleston, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2002. Born in Charleston to the late Charles McMillan and Catherine M. Oliver Smith. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving Ms. Tamsberg are her two daughters, Elaine Salmonsen of Culver City, CA, and Linda Flynn of Summerville; a brother, Matthew Smith of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Catherine Haley of Virginia Beach, VA, Frances Anne Harter of Belleville, Ill., and Mary Poirier of Mt. Pleasant. Also surviving Ms. Tamsberg are four grandchildren, Chelsea, Jessica, Christina, and Lauren. The family will receive friends from 1 - 3 PM on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. QUAKER HILL, CT - Ruth B. Jerome, 95, of 20 Norwich Road, Quaker Hill, CT died Sept. 14th, in Waterford, CT.
She was born August 3, 1907 in Portsmouth, RI the daughter of Walter and Alice Crabtree Brinkman.
Mrs. Jerome was married
to Laurence J. Jerome, Sr. of Quaker Hill, in Norwich on September 11, 1926. Mr. Jerome died July 7, 1975. Mrs. Jerome lived her entire married
life in the Jerome homestead.
She is a member of the First Baptist Church in New London, CT.
She is survived by a son, Laurence J. Jerome, Jr of Charleston, SC, a daughter, Nancy J. Burdick of East Lyme, CT, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jerome was pre-deceased by a son, Robert Avery Jerome.
