NIX, Annie
Mrs. Annie DeLoach Nix 83, of Varnville died Monday evening in the Harper Nursing Center in Estill.
Born Sept. 23, 1918 in Hampton County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward DeLoach and Ellen Winn DeLoach. Mrs. Nix was a homemaker and was a member of the Nixville Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jim Elton Nix.
Surviving are 2 brothers: Lester DeLoach of Estill and Earl DeLoach of Varnville; 1 sister: Earline Cope of Hampton. There are 33 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 pm in the CHAPEL OF PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME IN HAMPTON, conducted by Brother Paul DeLoach. Burial will follow in the Sandy Drain Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm and until the hour of services on Wednesday.

MURPHY, Elmer
Elmer James Murphy, 80, of Summerville, husband of Mary Ann Goller Murphy, died Sunday morning in local nursing home.
Graveside service will be held on this morning at 11 o'clock in Beaufort National cemetery.
Mr. Murphy was born December 2, 1921 in Glen, N.Y., a son of the late John Murphy and Grace Wilder Murphy. He was a graduate of New York Schools. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II where he received the Purple Heart Medal and the Victory Medal. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in New York and he was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are his wife of Summerville, one son, Daniel James Murphy of Charleston, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

BUNN, Viola
Viola "Vi" Root Bunn, age 96, of Hanahan, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at a local nursing home. Born in Marine, Minn., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Malinda Root; also the wife of the late James L. Bunn. She was a retired bookkeeper with Carolina Floral Company. Mrs. Bunn was a Methodist and a member of Federated Craft. Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Pfotzer of Somerset, N.J., two sons, James L. Bunn, Jr., of Goose Creek and John F. Bunn of Campobello, S.C. Three sisters, Lorraine Johnson of Encinitas, Calif., Bonna Jean Crabtree of Lake Elmo, Minn., Katherine Richardson of Laughlin, Nev., and one brother, George Root of Orofino, Ind., seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at North Charleston United Methodist Church, 1124 East Montague Ave., with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, May 14, 2002, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston.

EUTAWVILLE - Mr. John Wallace Wyatt, III, 61, of 114 Madrid Court, Eutawville, S.C. died Monday at his residence.

Mr. Wyatt was born in Danville, Va., a son of the late John W. Wyatt, Jr. and Elner Cox Wyatt. He was a retired carpenter.

James Frampton "Framp" Baldwin, 83, widower of Mary Frances Meitzler Baldwin died Monday, May 13, 2002 in Charleston. Mr. Baldwin was born Sunday, September 1, 1918 in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. the son of Haynes Lennon and Joanna Elizabeth Bowles Baldwin. He was a graduate of Charleston High School and was a retired Accountable Paper Custodian with the U.S. Postal Service. After graduation he went to work with his father at the H.L. Baldwin and Sons Poultry Company. He entered the U.S. Navy during W.W.II and was a Chief Petty Officer having served in the South Pacific. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, the I.A.T.S.E. (International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees), the United Federation of Postal Workers and worked on the production of North and South. Surviving are a daughter, Beverly B. Ling and a son, James F. Baldwin, Jr. both of Charleston; a brother, Oran S. Baldwin of McClellanville. The relatives and friends of James F. Maria Isidora Carrillo Baldeon de Wapshare, 57, of Summerville, wife of Harry Douglas Wapshare, died Sunday in Trident Medical Center.

Born on March 25, 1945, in Lima, Peru, a daughter of Federico Carrillo and the late Dionisia Baldeon de Carrillo.
Mrs. Wapshare received a Bachelor of Graphic Arts Degree from Montclair College in Upper Montclair, N.J. She also attended New York University School of Graphic Arts in New York City, N.Y. Mrs. Wapshare had been published as a writer, poet and enjoyed painting, sketching, arts and crafts. She was the owner of Maria Wapshare Graphics, an art advertisement agency, working in North and South America. She attended St. John Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband of Summerville; son, Mark Douglas Wapshare of Summerville; daughter, Katherine Marie Wapshare of Summerville; father of Lima, Peru; 3 sisters, Ana Marie Carrillo of Highland Mills, N.Y., Elsa Carrillo de Espinoza and Clara Carrillo de Bustamante of Lima, Peru; 5 brothers, Jose Carrillo of New York City, N.Y., Juan Carrillo of Tempe, Arizona, Gustavo Carrillo, Luis Alberto Carrillo and Luis Fernando Carrillo all of Lima, Peru.

James Robert Gould, 80, of Goose Creek, S.C., died Monday, May 13, 2002 at a local hospital.

He was a member of the Stevens Ministries at Trident Medical Center. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War.
Survivors include his fiancée, Anna Phillips of Goose Creek; 2 sons, Rev. James E. Gould and Anthony Gould both of Coward, S.C.; a daughter, Barbara G. Phillips of Moncks Corner, S.C.; a step-son, Michael Wren of Bonneau, S.C.; 2 step-daughters, Pat Batts of Virginia Beach, Va. and Tina Houser of Vidalia, Ga.; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his son, Patrick W. Gould.

ANDREWS - William C. Grant, 75, died Sunday, May 12, 2002, in Trident Medical Center in Charleston.
Mr. Grant was born in Andrews on November 27, 1926, a son of the late John Bynum Grant and Clara Gibson Grant. He was a graduate of Clemson University and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Grant retired from Farm Equipment Company in Andrews. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the C.C. Garris Bible Class of the church.
Surviving are his wife, Edna Ballentine Grant of Andrews; two step-sons, W. Andrew Grant of Goose Creek and Louis Alan Grant of N. Charleston; a brother, James S. Grant of Andrews; a sister, Clara G. Moise of Sumter; two grandchildren, Donna Grant and Drew Grant, both of Greenville; four nephews; and seven nieces.
Mr. Grant was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley Wooten Grant; and two brothers, J. Bynum Grant, Jr. and Henry M. Grant.
Funeral services will be 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, May 15, 2002, in Trinity United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Andrews Memorial cemetery.
