SHEARON, Vivian
RALEIGH - Vivian J. Shearon, 92, of 3939 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, died Sunday, September 22, 2002 at Rex Hospital following and almost four year period of declining health.
She was born January 2, 1910, a daughter of Tapley and Daisy Valeria Johnson of Fuquay-Varina.
She married
Hubert R. Shearon of Wake Forest on October 21, 1931. She spent many years on a farm near Fuquay-Varina and then she and Hubert build, owned, and operated the Mountain Villa Hotel in Boone for several years before his death on 1964.
She married
Waldron H. Shearon of Raleigh on May 17, 1970 and they spent time on Emerald Isle where they enjoyed fishing. Waldron died in April 1976.
For a few years in the 1960s she sold real estate in Raleigh.
She was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School, church suppers, WMU, and other activities until she was physically unable to participate. She had her special seat in church until she could no longer attend services.
She was a member of the Smith-Bryan Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as chapter chairman of the Veteran Patients Committee for several years, collecting magazines and books and taking them to the Veteran's Hospital in Durham.
In addition to her two husbands, she was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Robbie J. Smith.
Visitation will be at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Ennis Street in Fuquay-Varina on Wednesday night, September 25, 2002, from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Funeral services will be at Ridge Road Baptist Church on Thursday, September 26, 2002 at 2:00 PM.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Valeria and Herman Vinson of Clayton; son, Hubert R. (Red) Shearon of Mt. Pleasant, SC; granddaughter, Ann Shearon of Charleston, SC; granddaughter and husband, Ginger and Andrew Bergstrum, of Ambridge, PA; niece and husband, Robbie Lane and Bill Jackson of Fuquay-Varina; brother-in-law, W.E. Smith of Fuquay-Varina; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vassar and Elsie Shearon of Wake Forest; sister-in-law Edith Shearon of Wake Forest; sister-in-law, Christodell Shearon of Raleigh.
The family wishes to express thanks to the Caregivers who have given loving care over the past four years.

HAYNES, Jerry
Jerry Ray Haynes, 53, husband of Rhoda Rozina Herndon Haynes of John's Island, SC, died Saturday, September 21, 2002 at his residence. He was born Wednesday, February 2, 1949 in Wichita, KS, the son of Robert Eugene and Velma Elaine Tucker Haynes. Mr. Haynes honorably served in the US Navy during Vietnam. He was a copy machine repairman with the Charleston County School District. Mr. Haynes was dedicated to his family and married
for over 25 years. Surviving are his wife of John's Island; parents of Mulvane, KS; three sons, Paul Gaskins and Scott Gaskins, both of John's Island, Johnny Gaskins of Summerville; a daughter, Connie Brown of Charleston; and a sister, Beva Haynes of Oklahoma. ORANGEBURG - Ms. Josephine (Jo) Caroline Stroble Fogle, 64, died Sunday. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Riverbank Drive, Orangeburg. Devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Caroline Fogle Turner and husband J.R. Turner of Hickory, NC, and Tamra Fogle Behles of Prosperity, SC; and granddaughter, Parrish Gabrielle Behles of Prosperity, SC; one brother, Mike E. Stoble, Jr. and his wife, Barbara Stoble; nephew, Thomas Scott Stroble, all of Orangeburg.

MORRISON, JR., Harry
Mr. Harry Strohecker Morrison, Jr., 75, of the Lena Community near Estill, died Sunday afternoon in the Hampton Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Morrison was born in Savannah, Georgia, April 7, 1927, a son of the late Harry S. Morrison and Ruby Satterfield Morrison. He was a retired Forester, and was the Founder and Past President of Morrison Forestry and Real Estate Company. He was served in both the Army and the Marine Corps, was an Eagle Scout and former Boy Scout Troop Leader. He was a member of the American Legion Post #131 in Estill, Deacon and Trustee at the Lawtonville Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly Dean Morrison of Estill; two sons, H. Stro Morrison III of Estill, F. Dean Morrison of Madison, Georgia; two daughters, Jane M. Bowden of Goose Creek, Caroline M. Pettigrew of Beaufort; one sister, Barbara M. Vaughan of Hampton; one nephew, Robert M. McAlister of Kiav, Ukraine; and grandchildren, Stroh, Mary, and William Morrison, Samantha and Tucker Pettigrew, Jonathan Bowden.
Funeral services will be 4 PM Tuesday in the Lawtonville Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Dr. James F. Norris, III, with burial in the Lawtonville cemetery, directed by the ESTILL CHAPEL OF PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call at the Chapel in Estill from 7 - 9 PM Monday, and Tuesday until 3 PM when the casket will be placed in the church prior to services.

MCMAHON, James
James Allen McMahon, 70, of Clark's Branch Road, Moncks Corner, SC, a retired employee of Gates Rubber Company, died Sunday in a Manning hospital.

Mr. McMahon was born July 29, 1932 in Tuscaloosa, AL, a son of James Harvey McMahon and Sue Dockery McMahon. He served in the US Navy.
