VERNADOE, Myrtle
Myrtle "Patsy" Chance Vernadoe, 65, of Vernadoe Lane, St. Stephen, SC, a former spot welder for International Acoustics Company, died Friday at her residence.
The funeral will be at 3:00 PM this Sunday afternoon, September 22, 2002, in the St. Stephen Church of God. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial cemetery. Friends may call at the ST. Mrs. Vernadoe was born July 29, 1937 in Cross, SC, a daughter of James Thomas Chance and Marie Crawford Chance. She was a former paper distributor for the Post & Courier. She attended the St. Stephen Church of God.
Surviving are her husband, James D. Vernadoe; a daughter, Faith Ann Vernadoe of St. Stephen; a sister, Edith C. Caddell of Macedonia; and seven brothers, James A. Chance of Pelham, AL, Woodrow Chance of Andrews, Monroe Chance and Leonard Chance, both of Centerville, AL, William Chance of Chelsea, AL, Lawton Chance of Springfield, SC, and Robert Allen Chance of St. Stephen.
PERRY, Doris
Doris Eloise Coon Perry died Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at age 84. Loved by her family, husband, Howard; children, Doug and Monique, Roger and Rebecca; grandchildren, Scott, Karen, Alex, and Jocelyn. Doris made homes with her family in Philadelphia, PA; Lynn, MA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Groton, MA; Schenectady, NY before retiring to Charleston, SC, with her husband where they moved because the people were so friendly. In addition to raising a family, Doris found time for music, hospital volunteer work, community theater and travel. She enjoyed doing needlepoint work and used her knitting skills to make caps for infants and hats for the Boy Scouts. She is missed by all her family and friends. HEMINGWAY, SC - Frederick DeWitte Cribb, Sr., 53, died Friday, September 20, 2002, in a Florence hospital.
Mr. Cribb was born in Hemingway, a son of Frederica Huggins Cribb and the late DeWitte Cribb. He was employed by W. Lee Flowers and the Director of Retail Accounting, a member of the Hemingway First United Methodist Church, a graduate of Hemingway High School and Florence-Darlington Tech College.
Surviving are his wife, Beth Rollins Cribb of the home; two sons, Witte (Amie) Cribb, Dustin Cribb, both of Hemingway; mother, Frederica H. Cribb of Hemingway; a brother, Bryan (Phyllis) Cribb of Winston-Salem, NC; one grandson, Tucker Cribb of Hemingway.
Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Sunday in the MORRIS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, with burial in the Garden of Devotion cemetery.

Surviving are her three daughters, Barbara Cutrell Wren of Moncks Corner, S.C., Janet Cutrell Sigmund of Medford, Wis., and Sherran Cutrell Myers of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Ruth D. Veronee of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Woodrow W. Davis of Ravenel, S.C., and Cornelious B. Davis of Hollywood, S.C.; 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by her first husband, Benjamin W. Cutrell.

Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Fred Sr. and Hattie Robinson Williams and wife of the late Thomas Collins, Sr. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Kirkwood) where she served as Missionary and Senior Choir. She was also a member of the Kershaw County Council on Aging and the Grand Lodge of the United Sons of Abraham.
Surviving are sons, Dr. Thomas (Ruby) Collins, Jr. of Spencer, NC, Charles E. (Diane) Collins of Camden, SC, and Rev. Eugene (Elizan) Collins of Charleston, SC; 15 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
