CAUGHMAN, Sarah
The relatives and friends of Sarah Koon Caughman, widow of Robert F. Caughman, are invited to attend her funeral services in Advent Lutheran Church, Sunday, September 22, 2002, at 2 o'clock. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, this Saturday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock.
Born April 15, 1920, in Batesburg-Leesville, S.C., Mrs. Caughman was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ola Adams Koon. She was a homemaker and a member for 54 years of Advent Lutheran Church.
Surviving Mrs. Cuaghman are two daughters, Carolyn C. Anonie of Goose Creek, and Brenda C. Roberts of N. Charleston; two brothers, Pat Koon and Larry Koon, both of Leesville, S.C.; five sisters, Naomi Smith and Gladys Kaminer, both of Batesburg-Leesville, S.C., Delorise Graham of N. Charleston, Mary Shirley of Kansas City, Kansas, and Utricia Shealy of Batesburg-Leesville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A brother, Rufus Glen Koon, preceded Mrs. Caughman in death.

BENTON, Haskar
ANDREWS - Haskar Brooks Benton, 77, died Friday, September 20, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Benton was born in Andrews on May 7, 1925, a son of the late John Van Buren Benton and Ida Casselman Benton. He grew up in the Andrews area and served in the Army. Mr. Benton retired from International Paper Company in 1982, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was also a farmer. Mr. Benton attended Andrews Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.
Surviving are his wife, Maggie Parker Johnson Benton of Andrews; a son, John W. Benton of Andrews; a daughter, Annette Benton of Andrews; three sisters, Viola Benton, Talulah Fulton, and Doris Ethridge, all of Andrews; two step-sons, Kenneth M. Johnson of Georgetown and William G. Johnson of Sumter; three step-daughters, Sylvia Hucks of Brittons Neck, Bonnie Thomas of Bethera, and Yvonne Bauer of Andrews; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Benton was predeceased by his first wife, Zittie Idel Casselman Benton; a daughter, Peggy B. Thomas; a sister, Fayona Benton; and two brothers, Ernest E. Benton and R. B. Benton.
Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon, September 22, 2002, at 3 o'clock at Happy Home Original Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Elbert Welch, the Rev. Greg Cannon, the Rev. Clyde Chan, and the Rev. Earl Bittle. Burial will follow in Piney Forest cemetery under the direction of the Andrews Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
The family will receive friends, Saturday evening, September 21, 2002, from 6 until 8 o'clock at the church.

SAULISBURY, Clarice
Clarice Edith Burbage Saulisbury, 81, widow of James Verner Saulisbury, of Ridgeville, SC, died Thursday, September 19, 2002 at a Charleston hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, September 22, 2002 at Summerville cemetery. Friends may call at Parks Funeral Home, Summerville, SC this Saturday evening from 6 - 8 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1845 Lebanon Road, Ridgeville, SC 29472.
Mrs. Saulisbury was born May 8, 1921 in Berkeley County, SC, a daughter of George Matthew Burbage and Tressa Singletary Burbage. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include five daughters, Maxine Winningham, Beverly Woodson, Margaret Ayers, all of Lebanon, SC, Martha Connor of Zion, SC, Judy Igou of Dorchester, SC; one son, James Saulisbury of Lebanon, SC; one brother, Ackerman Burbage of Charleston, SC; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

ROURKE, Christine
Christine McClellan Rourke, 75, of Summerville, wife of John E. Rourke, died Wednesday, September 18, 2002 in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 22, 2002 at 2 o'clock in James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Summerville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock until this evening.
Mrs. Rourke was born on May 28, 1927, in Horry County, SC, a daughter of the late Trussie Frank McClellan and Fannie Bell Hilbourn McClellan. She attended Horry County schools. She retired as a financial manager with J.M. Fields Department Store and she attended Freedom Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of Summerville; 6 sons, Milton T. Rourke of San Antonio, TX, Gerald Rourke of Ladson, James E. Rourke of Walterboro, Roger A. Rourke of Summerville, Robert E. Rourke of Summerville, Michael W. of Round O; 3 daughters, Patricia Ann Daley of North Charleston, Virginia A. Davis of Hollywood, Donna M. Lewis of Summerville; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Rebecca Judy of Summerville.

WALL, Mildred
Mildred Dupree Wall, 72, of James Island, wife of Joseph C. Wall, died Wednesday in a Charleston hospital.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20, 2002 at 1 o'clock in James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Entombment will be in Plantation Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner.

Mrs. Wall was born on January 4, 1930 in Hoodtown, South Carolina, a daughter of the late John Dupree and Ethel Caddell Dupree. She attended Rivers High School and Rice Business College in Charleston. She was a homemaker and a member of Harbor Light Baptist Church, John's Island.
Surviving are her husband of James Island; 3 sons, James Michael Dupree Wall of Cross, Joseph Wayne Wall of Cross, Jeffrey Allen Wall of Nashville, TN; 1 daughter, Julie Wall Hilton of Florence; 6 grandchildren, Eric D. Wall of Fairbanks, AK, Joseph Michael Wall of Charleston, Melody Beth Wall of Cross, April Marie Wall of Cross, Christina Marie Hightower of Florence, Tori Paige Hilton of Florence; 2 great-grandchildren, Devyn Wayne Stenson and Lauryn Alesia Stenson, both of Cross; 1 brother, James Willard Dupree of Ladson.

SANDERS, Ira
Ira William Sanders, Sr., 72, of North Charleston, widower of Dolliree Minnie Altman Sanders, died Tuesday, September 17, 2002.
A funeral service will be held Friday, September 20, 2002, 3 PM, at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment to follow in Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Born November 7, 1930 in New Jersey, Mr. Sanders was the son of the late Frank W. Sanders and Elizabeth Doinay Sanders.
Mr. Sanders was a retired engine man with the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include two daughters, Dolliree "Ann" Winchester of North Charleston, Donna M. Deaton of Goose Creek; three sons, Ira William Sanders, Jr. of Jacksonville, NC, Steven M. Sanders of North Charleston, Johnathon David Sanders of North Charleston; several brothers and sisters; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, 2002, 6 - 8 PM, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC.
