The relatives and friends of Sarah Koon Caughman, widow of Robert F. Caughman, are invited to attend her funeral services in Advent Lutheran Church, Sunday, September 22, 2002, at 2 o'clock. Born April 15, 1920, in Batesburg-Leesville, S.C., Mrs. Caughman was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ola Adams Koon. She was a homemaker and a member for 54 years of Advent Lutheran Church.
Surviving Mrs. Cuaghman are two daughters, Carolyn C. Anonie of Goose Creek, and Brenda C. Roberts of N. Charleston; two brothers, Pat Koon and Larry Koon, both of Leesville, S.C.; five sisters, Naomi Smith and Gladys Kaminer, both of Batesburg-Leesville, S.C., Delorise Graham of N. Charleston, Mary Shirley of Kansas City, Kansas, and Utricia Shealy of Batesburg-Leesville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A brother, Rufus Glen Koon, preceded Mrs. Caughman in death.
BENTON, Haskar
ANDREWS - Haskar Brooks Benton, 77, died Friday, September 20, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Benton was born in Andrews on May 7, 1925, a son of the late John Van Buren Benton and Ida Casselman Benton. He grew up in the Andrews area and served in the Army. Mr. Benton retired from International Paper Company in 1982, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was also a farmer. Mr. Benton attended Andrews Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.
Surviving are his wife, Maggie Parker Johnson Benton of Andrews; a son, John W. Benton of Andrews; a daughter, Annette Benton of Andrews; three sisters, Viola Benton, Talulah Fulton, and Doris Ethridge, all of Andrews; two step-sons, Kenneth M. Johnson of Georgetown and William G. Johnson of Sumter; three step-daughters, Sylvia Hucks of Brittons Neck, Bonnie Thomas of Bethera, and Yvonne Bauer of Andrews; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Benton was predeceased by his first wife, Zittie Idel Casselman Benton; a daughter, Peggy B. Thomas; a sister, Fayona Benton; and two brothers, Ernest E. Benton and R. B. Benton.
Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon, September 22, 2002, at 3 o'clock at Happy Home Original Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Elbert Welch, the Rev. Greg Cannon, the Rev. Clyde Chan, and the Rev. Earl Bittle. Burial will follow in Piney Forest cemetery under the direction of the Andrews Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
The family will receive friends, Saturday evening, September 21, 2002, from 6 until 8 o'clock at the church.

Clarice Edith Burbage Saulisbury, 81, widow of James Verner Saulisbury, of Ridgeville, SC, died Thursday, September 19, 2002 at a Charleston hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, September 22, 2002 at Summerville cemetery. Friends may call at Parks Funeral Home, Summerville, SC this Saturday evening from 6 - 8 o'clock. Mrs. Saulisbury was born May 8, 1921 in Berkeley County, SC, a daughter of George Matthew Burbage and Tressa Singletary Burbage. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include five daughters, Maxine Winningham, Beverly Woodson, Margaret Ayers, all of Lebanon, SC, Martha Connor of Zion, SC, Judy Igou of Dorchester, SC; one son, James Saulisbury of Lebanon, SC; one brother, Ackerman Burbage of Charleston, SC; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
